I recently came across some high-quality screenshots of Connor's hands, where I noticed that the pads of the fingers and the surface of the palm are not smooth, but with a noticeable texture. I think this textured part of the palms of androids is soft and similar to rubber or a good imitation of human skin, which prevents objects from slipping out of their hands
Probably because of the contrast of the materials, the palms resemble the paws of a cat (^._.^)ﾉ

Kneading the android's lap, Gizmo emitted a purr that vibrated throughout its framework. Its back arching as it nuzzled insistently against Richard's uniform. Encouraging the droid to return some kind of affection.
Detective Reed had been put in charge of the cat after it had somehow clambered within the main frame of Kamski's lab and upset more than a handful of ongoing works. The second to last entry had more than a few 'highlighted' choice words, Elijah had voiced, the longest of which included a detailed threat regarding some reprogramming.
"Brrr" Gizmo trilled, its LED blinking a curious shade of yellow.

Richard did not mind the chaos this artificial feline had caused by its curiosity. Did he judge Elijah Kamski, however? Absolutely not. His respect towards the inventor increased at least tenfold thanks to Gizmo.
Although Richard was less than happy regarding a newfound weakness, he was but an android with no installed features to resist an inquisitive feline - be it a machine or biological. “I am afraid I can not follow you to the field, detective,” the android finally concluded. He was thrilled, to say the least, and when the cat chose him as his nuzzle partner, Richard felt somewhat special and, for once, it was not related to him being the most up to date and advanced model.

And if he did mark that down in his personal calendar, no one had to know.
Richard raked his fingers through the thick fur, and the corners of his mouth twitched involuntarily; he could detect softness as well as the material of the fur. “Aren’t you one of the best and cutest beings on this planet, hmm?”
