You know what? Iām not too worried about Owl Houseās ending.
It sucks, yes, that we canāt get more. I would have loved to see this show get its full 3-4 seasons it seems Dana intended (that is interpretation based on her comments on my part, NOT fact). Or even be a longer 5-7 season show, with two main arcs within like The Dragon Prince will be.
However, I think our ending will still be fantasticā because they knew about the cancellation early.
Prior to s1 even finishing, in fact, and likely even earlier there was word around season 3 was getting the axe. This means they had time to prepare and, most importantly, WRITE FOR having this shortened amount of episodes. Something I trust this writing team to do.
Writing for TV is a nightmare when it comes to this. Itās hard to create a planned out, paced narrative that comes to a satisfying conclusion when you never know if youāre going to get renewed. But the earlier you find out, the better you can adjust and prepare for the most solid ending possible.
Why do you think s2a was so jam packed? Theyāre likely adjusting the plot and had to cut the kind of filler episodes present in s1 so theyād have time to get the season 2 finale where it needs to be before the shortened s3. It shifts everything.
I have faith that the rest of The Owl House is going to be great, even if not ideal or perfect, and I encourage fellow fans to as well. Itās the best thing we can give the show in the time that it has left.
