When you go for online stock trading, you can normally carry out trades with a maximum leverage ratio of 2:1. You also need to meet some qualifying requirements before you can start trading. Not all investors are approved for margin accounts. Margin accounts are essential to gain leverage in online share trading.

On the other hand, currency trading with leverage simply requires opening a currency trading account.

●        Paired trades

Unlike online share trading, currency trading always involves currencies being quoted in pairs. Hence, you have to be aware of the economic health of both the country you are trading against and the country whose currency you are trading in.

●        Price sensitivity to trade activity

The price sensitivity for these two markets is completely different. Purchasing stock of 10,000 shares through online share trading may have a significant effect on the stock price.
