“Greece is lovely! I didn’t spend much time there when I went, but I would love to go back and explore ancient ruins. It’s the sort of thing you dream about as a child, and maybe hope to find a bit of magic among them,” she said with a soft laugh. “Now all this talk of far away places makes me want to get on an airplane and take off again! If only it were that simple.”

“I had been speaking several kinds of Greek. for a while before I went so it definitely did feel magical to finally be in the country and immersed in the language.” She nodded, knowing how she felt. “I’d like to make it out to Greece again soon one day. Maybe over the winter holidays I can squeeze in a trip.”

“Well, I was born in Paris, and grew up there a while. My family moved to the states when I was young, but we traveled back home often, so I’ve seen much of Europe. Spain, France, Italy, Greece… When I traveled on my own for a while, I visited Great Britain, Sweeden, and was going to Germany before I got called by my friend here and decided to put traveling on hold for a while to be with people I cared about. I plan on getting back out there. I would love to go visit Asian countries, African countries, and even Australia,” she said smiling. Arielle loved to travel, and though she was confined to working at a coffee shop in Westwick, she had big plans for her future.

“I love Greece. It’s by far my favorite place to visit. I love going to the ruins. There’s just so much history there,” she gushed. “I haven’t made it to Sweden yet, but I have been planning to. Their language is so interesting.”

“I’ve lived here for about two years now,” Arielle said with a slight nod. “Before that, I was traveling quite a bit, but Westwick has been a good place to settle for now. It might not be my last stop in life, but it’s a good resting point, so to speak,” she said, nodding and tucking a few strands of soft brown hair behind her ear.

“Where all have you traveled?” Ripley asked. Her interest was decidedly piqued now. “I’ve done a bit of traveling myself.”

“Sounds like you’ve been doing some traveling. Have you ever gone outside of the country?” 

“I have several times. I really enjoy traveling when I have the time. I love going to Greece the most.”

“The way I see it fashion is like the decorations on a Christmas tree. The tree is perfect all on it’s own, heck someone picked it out of all the trees out there, but once you add that star on top it’s something even better.”

Arielle laughed quietly and nodded. “I’m not sure which I was named after, really, but thank you. It’s nice to meet you as well. I hope to see you in often. There’s no better coffee in town,” she said with a warm smile.

“Have you lived in Westwick long?”

“You will definitely be seeing me often. I live off of coffee to be honest,” she said. She knew it was cliched, being a professor who loved coffee, but she genuinely did love it. 

“By storm you mean hurricane right?” He chuckles amused. “So what area in Florida are you from?”

Arielle pursed her lips for a moment, then smiled and shook her head. “Apologies, I haven’t seen that movie yet. But I have heard of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” she said with a quiet chuckle.

“You’re quite welcome!” she said, pleased that Ripley had found her coffee to be just right. “I’m Arielle. Like the Little Mermaid, or The Tempest,” she said with a soft nod.

“My dad really likes sci fi, so I can forgive you for not having seen it. It’s creepy anyway,” she said with a laugh. The older she got the more amused she was by her father’s choice of name for her. 

“Arielle is a cute name,” she responded. “It’s nice to meet you.”

“Damn right! I mean a girl in a suit who can rock it is amazing. Play-suits or two pieces are the best.”

“Just because you’re an academic or a professional doesn’t mean you have to forfeit style and fashion. I love shopping and looking good. It boosts my confidence a lot.”

“French vanilla cappuccino, coming right up!” Arielle said cheerfully. “What name should I put this under?”

She moved down the coffee bar and began to prepare the smooth, sweet, foamy coffee, and once she was finished, she handed it over. “Here you are! Let me know what you think.” Arielle held the cup out to the woman, hoping she found it to her liking.

“Ripley, like from the movie Alien,” she replied with a smile. 

Ripley took the coffee, her smile widening. “Thank you so much,” she said before taking a sip. It was the perfect mix in her opinion. The sweetness didn’t overpower the flavor of the coffee. “It’s perfect, actually. Thank you again.”
