Girls IN2 STEM is a pipeline mentor matching program which pairs women in STEM with high school girls (virtually) and high school girls with middle school girls during weekend meetups. Women in STEM will be able to mentor their girls virtually through an online web portal called Mentor Matching Engine (MME). Registration for MME requires a brief background check and once granted access communication through MME will be moderated by the Girls IN2 STEM Project Manager. Women and girls can communicate throughout the duration of the program and are encouraged to share advice, recommend activities and research tools and build a bridge to close the gap of women in STEM careers. To become a Female STEM Champion you have to complete 2 applications (see below link). After the first, you will receive an email registration from the Mentor Matching Engine, an online platform used to communicate with your Girls IN2 STEM mentee. In order to protect our students, the MME application will require a simple background check. Our Teen Mentors will reach out to you as soon as they have been trained (Jan 2017) to discuss ways to engage in activities with their middle school mentees and will also seek career guidance and support from you as a subject matter expert.
