Josh O'Connor and Daniel Metz in HIDE AND SEEK (2014) dir. Joanna Coates
oh bitch writing adam for the first time in over a month was truly an experience
ragebloomed.
@ripered / 𝐒𝐂.
𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄, 𝐍𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐄. it was the first thing she wanted to say the second she stepped down in forks. long time. they hadn’t spoke since the fallout on their shared child. it was too hard to speak of a life that never stood a chance in her body. oh, and she blamed herself – of course she did. she was the one between them that she couldn’t stand, but it wasn’t fair to punish adam. he was nothing but an innocent bystander to her self destruction. now, it was time for remedies. for apologies. she fumbled her hand over her sleeve, tugging down the damp flannel as she caught eyes with the professor.
‘ hey, ’ it was calm. simple. it was hard to fuck up a clipped greeting. she leaned forward onto the desk he was working at, not expecting him to get up at all. ‘ i’m sober now. i’m sorry you had to see all of that. ’ her voice waned at the edge, knowing she would fall if she teetered too far with her words. oh, and how easy it was to fall with him. it took one look in his deep eyes to sink back in. she lifted a hand, eyes cast downward to break their gaze. it was better to do this unattached. ‘ and i’m sorry if i caused any more hurt than needed. i know it wasn’t right to hide the kid from you. i just – i dunno – maybe, we could try again. i could live here. and we could pick up from where we started…if you still want that. ’
adam, over time, has learned to keep things where they were. he’s spent so much time fumbling around the idea of things, holding on tight to concepts that would only bring him immense pain despite everything. maybe that pain always brought him something, a reminder that he’s not entirely numb to the world. a satisfaction. but that’s begun to make him feel so small, and there was so much to life that he was missing due to his own tendency to self destruct within himself. kat became a causality of his fleeting and ever fickle destruction, and he clung to it for far too long before it all turned to dust. so he walks away and learned to keep things where they are.
that’s until she’s there, standing before him. he stopped thinking of his unborn child, as a way to solidify his newfound mindset of keeping things in the rear view. but now he sees her and wonders of what could have been, if they might have had her eyes or his own, or her smile or his timid expression. it earns his stomach to twist, feeling the need to be sick. it wouldn’t be the first time he threw up like a fool in front of her, that’s for sure. ❛ don’t be sorry. ❜ he replies softly, completely sincere. ❛ you did what you thought was best for you, you don’t have to be sorry for that. ever. ❜ in hindsight, adam was still a newcomer in her life, especially then. maybe there was just no room for him at that moment. adam soon purses his lips in thought, eyes averting down to his shoes and then back up towards kat. ❛ i think rushing was also our problem last time. ❜ it’s said with a smile, hoping to maybe lighten the conversation, or at least make her smile. but kat was still rudely undeniable and adam’s turning red from her words already. he nods towards the pavement, ❛ come on, we can talk over food. i’m starving. ❜
the drama of it all..............very adam

50. what are the prevailing facial expressions ? sour ? cheerful ? dominating ?
i think adam’s most prevalent facial expression is....simple and a little timid. he has a very feminine grace to the way his face falls. he also looks as though he’s always observing and retaining information. though as of lately, his expressions are pretty neutral. he’s sweet and pretty content so his face falls a little towards the at ease range most of the time.

I saw his round mouth’s crimson deepen as it fell, Like a Sun, in his last deep hour; Watched the magnificent recession of farewell, Clouding, half gleam, half glower, And a last splendour burn the heavens of his cheek. And in his eyes The cold stars lighting, very old and bleak, In different skies.
Poem by Wilfred Owen, written between November and December 1917.

All I heard was my heart, dim but fast, like footsteps fleeing into silence.
