he felt his heart drop deep into his stomach. no way this was happening again.
ever since his original scandal, any time any woman was seen in any sort of proximity to him, the rumors started. it was another girl he was leading astray, corrupting. one of many girls in his collection. it was absurd.
he hadn’t even been doing anything wrong. he and rina both had a meeting with company producers, and they agreed to carpool because they both had a shoot in the company building afterwards. it was just practical. but here they were, in print– pictures of him and rina climbing out of a car together, with date speculation all over it. even worse, this time– tons of claims of him corrupting younger idols at his company and taking advantage of them.
he scrambled to find her, finally running into her in one of the artist lounges, face pale. “rina, i’m so sorry. this is all my fault. we need to talk to pr…” he blabbered, holding out his phone open to the article. @rinarv
she hadn’t seen the article until she started getting texts from yeseo and her manager, all sending it to her. maybe she should have been more overwhelmed-- this was her first k-pop scandal, after all, and people made a big deal over these dating ones. but after everything that happened to her in japan, it was more annoying than anything. especially since it wasn’t true.
hasik looked panicked, though, and she felt for him. he’d had a rocky road the past few years. “hey, calm down,” she said, turning his phone off and passing it back to him. “it’s no big deal, okay? pr will have it handled. things like this happen all the time, it’s no one’s fault.”
