Ao3 is like the one space left where I don’t feel like I’m drowning in capitalism. There’s no membership fee to access, I’m not assaulted by clickbait ads covering every inch of my screen. Writers are generously gifting their stories. They aren’t beholden to anyone’s schedule but their own, there’s no algorithm to feed or jump through hoops for. They write about the fandoms that inspire them, expanding on worlds or deep diving into character studies. They experiment with tropes and language and style and genre, no matter how “marketable” it is.

In a world where everything is increasingly commodified and regulated and restricted I cherish this little corner of the internet more fiercely.

The design for Kraehe took a couple of revisions before I came up with something I was happy with 😅 The wings are inspired by Philippe Wolfers’ swan pendant. The flowers on top are apple blossoms, which symbolize beauty, hope, and love. In keeping with the jewelry theme, the flowers have diamonds for stamen while the leaves and wings are enamel

Also I decided to change my comic title to "Antler Boys", so I'm no longer using the "Tsuru to Shika" title. Mainly because I've been using Antler Boys more so than the actual title; plus the story changed a bit. 😅🥹

The animal shelter announces they are switching things up and letting the pets choose their humans. Your friends got cats and dogs. Your niece got a hamster. What arrived at your doorstep was a bit unconventional.

The first indication anything had come to my place was the feeling of an earthquake. That first tremor make me jump out of my skin and dive under the kitchen table. It took a few more 'tremors' before I realized it wasn't an earthquake. It was footsteps.

The entire house shook as the 'quakes' got closer, knocking photos off the wall and even making a vase jump off the fireplace mantel. Just what the hell was going on? Was Godzilla taking a stroll down the street?

When the jolts finally stopped and the house stopped feeling like it was going to crumble right around me, I chanced coming out from under the table to peek out the window.

"You have got to be shitting me....."
