We Love Rin Nohara

This scene is actually quite layered, but often made straightfoward by nice guys. Uwah uwah Rin confessed, what a bitch. It is not so.

Kakashi tells Rin to escape, but she refuses. After that, Kakashi insists that she should escape and tells her he’s following Obito’s will. Then she “confesses” and then Kakashi “refuses” and tells her once more to escape. The last panel that you see is her still standing there.

Kakashi tells Rin that because Obito loved her, he wanted to protect her. However, Rin refers to her feelings. She loves Kakashi, so she also wants to protect him. This is why she doesn’t leave his side no matter how many times Kakashi tels her to leave.

Rin isn’t randomly confessing. She’s saying that Obito > Rin and Rin > Kakashi are the same, so if he understands Obito’s feelings and is ready to die for them, then he must understand Rin’s feelings, therefore telling her to leave is pointless. This is like, the theme of the manga. Protecting others out of love, blah blah.

Well, ok. Kakashi and Rin were never friends-enemies attempting to kill each other nor were Kakashi going through a curse of hatred. They were different in that aspect from Sasuke and Sakura. However, it’s similar.

After obito’s death, (lmao this part will always be soo funny to me) kakashi just got done explaining obito’s feelings for her, and she ignores it and went straight to confessing her feelings for kakashi. Kakashi didn’t reject this with a not interested, but tells Rin that he’s the kind of trash that would have abandoned her and urges her to leave while he stays back to die. He try’s to persuade her into believing that he’s not worthy of her feelings. So, he’s classifying himself as scum who did bad things to her and she shouldn’t have feelings for him, because of that he urges her to leave him to die and save herself. Rin didn’t leave Kakashi side. ✨

Yet, Kakashi exalts Sakura for still having feelings for Sasuke even though he’s scum who did bad things to her, furthermore exalting her for not abandoning him and washing her hands off of him. Rin loved Kakashi to the bitter end, even though he made some scum choices over her. She didn’t abandon him, though he asked her to. Kakashi would think of Rin’s feelings for him in a similar light like Sakura’s. He’d think Rin was kind for loving him, and not abandoning him. *aww*

I love this manga panel because they used Rin's crush on Kakashi to persuade Kakashi to accept the dream world. They could’ve written "Hi, Kakashi" instead of "I love you, Kakashi". Like, it made me think KakaRin was hinted at and Kakashi's feelings for Rin are mutual.

If Kakashi was delusional like Obito, it would’ve meant that he accepted a world where Obito is the hokage and Rin loves him. Um, why would you want the girl you see as a friend to say "I love you" while blushing?

“When Sakumo teammates lives were endangered, Sakumo chose to abandon the mission in order to save them. He was disgraced when he returned home, shunned by everyone in the village, even those he had saved. Dishonored, Sakumo fell into a deep depression, and suffered a drop in his skills. Eventually, he committed suicide, which caused Kakashi to live strictly to the Ninja Code.”

When Kakashi was fighting against Gai during the Chuunin Exams while Rin and Obito were looking on from the stands, the way Rin was looking at Kakashi as he fought was definitely not the look of someone with a shallow crush; her face was filled with genuine happiness as she was watching him do well, and Obito could see this judging from his sullen expression as he was watching her observe Kakashi. Obito could see the love in Rin’s eyes as she watched Kakashi, and probably came to terms with the fact that those feelings weren’t directed towards him:

This greatly parallels the scene in the hospital during Part 1 where after Sasuke is awakened by Tsunade, and Sakura hugs him with all the love and affection in the world, Naruto also wore a very sullen expression, just like Obito did when he saw Rin watching Kakashi. And also just like Obito, it was probably in this instance where Naruto acknowledged that this kind of affection from Sakura was always going to be reserved for Sasuke, as he subsequently gave them some time to themselves:

The expressions that both Obito and Naruto wore as they watched Rin and Sakura show affection for Kakashi and Sasuke, had exactly the same meanings behind them:

Acknowledgement that Rin and Sakura’s hearts belonged to other people. And when Kakashi eventually won the fight against Gai, Rin’s face absolutely lit up in sincere adulation:

I could only really compare it to when Naruto won his fight against Kiba during the 3rd Round Prelims, and despite Hinata’s face not exactly lighting up in the manner that Rin’s did because the former was much more inhibited, you could still undoubtedly tell that the feelings of adulation were identical:

"Ah, but that's silly! A simple detail doesn't change anything."

Yes, maybe it doesn't change much visually, but it takes a lot of the weight off the scene. The context is where Rin takes her own life at the hands of the man she loves, removing Kakashi crying out of both eyes (exploding his emotions, which he has already shown to struggle with) is basically erasing the development he had! It's acting like he doesn't care about Rin...

Rin was more upset about Kakashi abandoning her comment than him saying Obito’s love confession.

Like, why was Kakashi so determined to make Sasuke understand Sakura’s feelings? Why didn’t he tell Sakura she might be better off with Naruto, like Obito and Rin? If Kakashi knew Sakura liked Sasuke, he surely knew Naruto liked her too, so why didn’t he support Naruto’s feelings like Minato supported Obito’s?

Kakashi and Rin had off screen developments. The hands on each other shoulders is a sign of closeness.

The second picture is in the manga so it does shows that rin and kakashi were very close as teammates.

And whenever obito was late to practice or whatever plans, it would give them time to talk to each other.
