It took Cordelia several moments before she turned around to look at Amity. She knew that girl would look irresistible today and she couldn’t afford any distractions. All she could do was hope that Amity would heed her words or she would make her heed them later.  When she finally turned around, Amity was just as beautiful if not more so then usual but she didn’t allow herself to take it all in. Like Amity said, they had much work to do when it came to reshaping the department.  “Indeed you are right about that,” Cordelia smiled. “I can’t wait to see the look on those girl’s faces when we tell them who their new bosses are.” 

“You ready Cordelia? We wouldn’t want to be late.”

Cordelia’s focus began to waver when Amity wrapped her arm around her. She was the real tease if Cordelia was being completely honest. Normally, Cordelia was able to power through her work with Amity, but being cooped up in the same office might prove difficult if she was going to behave like this.  “You are one of the most dangerously beautiful woman I’ve had to the pleasure to meet. However, if we do intend to get work done I’m going to need you on your best behavior for my sake,” Cordelia requested, relaxing as Amity made her way up the stairs. Although a black dress was what she originally intended for the both of them, those sapphire eyes were telling her otherwise. She knew just the outfit, a short blue dress that emphasized Amity’s curved figure. Though the dress had a sweet heart neckline, there was nothing innocent about it. That dress was going to get noticed and if used properly would cut work short for the day.  Cordelia closed her eyes picturing Amity in the dress and felt herself stiffen at the mental image. She had to get through these days dreams now if she was going to remain focused at work. A clever mind with alluring looks was a deadly, delicious mental cocktail for Cordelia. As much as she wanted to enjoy the dream, she had to return to living. “I have your outfit picked out for you. I request that you withhold your veela like charm on me until we get home.”

Amity pulled back and started walking away, calling out over her shoulder, “Of course, we don’t want to be late for work as you say. So don’t take too long…” Her eyes twinkled as she laughed and left Cordelia slightly breathless in front of the mirror.

Farah almost fell over when she arrived in the ministry that morning. She was sure she had the amount of floo powder right, perhaps she had to investigate her home floo again. As she made her way to her office, she saw Lacey just arriving. Even though she tended to give her friend space at work, since she was of a lower blood class, she couldn’t withhold her excitement for her date tonight.  “Hi Lacey, how was your morning?” Farah greeted. 

I Floo in and immediately feel myself stiffen when I arrive at the ministry. It was dull, and very dangerous even if it was ironically the safest place to be. 

"Thank you George, it means so much to know that I can always count on you whenever I'm feeling down." I spoke with a smile, glancing out of the corner of my eye to see what time it was. "Oh my, we better start getting ready. Don't want to be late now do we?"

“Allison, you deserve the world and nothing less. I am going to continue surpassing your expectations with every passing day just as I fall more in love with you,” George answered placing a kiss on her lips. “With everything thats happening now, it’s even more crucial to make you smile on your lowest days. “

“Oh Bellatrix tribute is a must, we have to show our new underlings we mean business. I’m going to be rooting out the weak ones today by wearing something distracting, I’m sure you know which dress I’m referring to,” Cordelia mused, standing up and making her way to the stairs. “We cannot show mercy to the half-blood scum, and anyone who’s easily distracted by looks, emotions, or relations cannot be trusted. You tell me where everyone’s eyes are at all times won’t you? I'm hoping to have the new team in their positions by lunch.” Quickly Cordelia changed into into one of her silk black dresses, that lightly embraced her figure. If the fit wasn’t enough, the deep v in the center would be the tipping point. Normally she wasn’t one for using such a tactic, but she couldn’t afford to have anyone that lost focus for any reason. They needed to be cold, calculating individuals with one goal: conviction. After lightly curling her hair, she stood beside Amity who was still perfecting her curls.  “You’re a vision of intimidation Amity, if only you weren’t so excited for work we could indulge in a morning of passion. However, we can’t let ourselves get lost in each other now when we have so much work to do. “

“Bellatrix tribute today? Or should we match?” Her hair changed from wild brown curls to a straight pale blonde and back again.

"Yes, I'm sure. If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes I never would have guessed that they came from a disk." I spoke reassuringly, "And George. you don't have to work harder to wow me because you already wow me more and more every day." I said leaning up to give him a kiss.

“I was a bit reluctant to show you because now I have to work harder to wow you with flowers,” George laughed. “You’re sure that they’re convincing? I’d hate to sell these and leave some girl unimpressed. I’d hate to ruin a guys chances by selling fake looking flowers.” 

I reached out and carefully took the disk from him, holding it closer to me so I could inspect it close up. "So I just press that button and this disk will turn into roses, right? No surprises, nothings going to explode or anything?" After he assured me that it was safe I pressed the button, smiling wide once I saw the outcome. "Wow, George that's amazing."

“ I suppose you’re right. I’ll see you later tonight alright?” Farah kissed him softly and made her way to the fireplace. She grabbed some of the powder and waved one last goodbye before vanishing in a puff of smoke. 

“I’m glad you asked. It’s a set of 5 disks, that well makes instant flowers for that special someone. If you forget their birthday, anniversary, or want to surprise them all you do is press the button and flowers appear,” George enthused as he pulled one of the small disks from his pocket. “These are two dozen red roses, a perfect I’m sorry gift for anyone. I had to ask Neville how to get the flowers to spring up quickly but after different soil combinations I think we got it. Would you like to do the honors?”

"Well we don't want that," I spoke getting up to get ready as well. I never pushed Lacey to talk about what her job entailed, no one really spoke about what happened during the ministry's questioning, but obviously whatever happened on the other side of the closed door was bothering her. "You'll be fine darling, I know you will be. If it gets too bad though, remember that it's just another day."

"Well, maybe I don't want you to get rid of it." I teased placing a quick kiss to her lips. "Now come on love, you'd better head to work. I'd hate for me to be the reason you're late. Besides, how am I supposed to be your knight in shining armor and get you out of work early if you never go to work in the first place?"
