The history of Corn On The Cob Day goes back to a time even before European settlers actually first came to the Americas. Corn is a new world plant, native to the American lands, that was originally enjoyed by the Native Americans who were there before the westerners ādiscoveredā the land. Since then, corn has made various appearances in dishes all over the world, and the by-products of this plant have been used in quite literally millions of different products. For instance, in the United States, high fructose corn syrup is found in almost every candy, and certainly, in almost every carbonated beverage that can be found. Other corn products that are used en masse include oil, cereals, snacks, breads and even fuel. #CornOnTheDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ceq21yZt_R_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
While recipes for Iced Tea go back as far as the 1870ās, it wasnāt until 1904 that it exploded in popularity. This was due in no small part to the Worldās Fair and the heat of the summer that was baking it. Iced Tea was being served, and the fair goers were drinking it en masse, and in almost no time at all, it was being served in tall glasses so well known for this purpose that they were called iced-tea glasses. You know a drink has truly come into its own when special utensils are made for its preparation, and it wasnāt just the glasses, iced-tea spoons and lemon forks were developed to make its consumption both easier and more satisfying. Iced Tea is typically made from the tea plant, but just like with hot teas, it can be made with just about anything, and herbal teas are often a popular choice for the cool drink. Imagine the parade of flavors available to you, a cool mint tea stirred with a bit of lime, or if youāre in India you may as well do as the locals do and enjoy your tea with a bit of ginger. Our personal favorite? Peach Iced Tea, itās delightful. #IcedTeaDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeoZnKxNxa8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Life wouldnāt be the same without best friends. Theyāre the friends that can be counted on to be there at a momentās notice. The ones who love, laugh, support, and cherish ā in both good and bad times. Friends can be celebrated on any day of the year, but what better day than Best Friends Day? The day is largely unofficial, with no clear clue as to its origins, but that doesnāt stop the millions who mark the day each year from enjoying their best friends. Celebrations can be as low key or as flamboyant as desired. A picnic in the park, a get together over coffee, or a nice meal in a favorite restaurant are popular ways to celebrate a close friendship. Should distance keep best friends apart, itās enough to pick up the phone to wish that special person a very happy Best Friends Day. #BestFriendsDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CejFWVFt96C/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
They were the hallmark of movie watching in our youth, carrying films home from our local Blockbuster for a night of family fun and entertainment. Together weād gather around the huge cathode ray tube TVās in our living room, not even thinking to complain about the static lines that occasionally would run across the screen from a movie that had been worn with love from rewatching. National VCR Day comes each year to remind us to take some time to appreciate the nostalgia of the tech of yesteryear. It was really the 90s kids who really had the full scope of the VCR evolution and were the first ones to really grasp the concept of taping, recording, rewinding and we all have stacks somewhere of our old VCR tapes that housed all our favorite 90s shows. #VCRDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CegpGUYgL4q/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Yo-Yo Day is celebrated annually on the 6th June. It is no coincidence that this corresponds with the birthday of famous entrepreneur Donald Duncan Sr, who in the 1930s, got into the yo-yo business. Yo-yos have been around 2,000 years and were known under different names such as quizzes or bandalores. Nevertheless, the origin of the yo-yo appears to stem from the Philippines and the earliest entry of the word appears in a Filipino dictionary in the early 1860s. In the 1920s, Pedro Flores (a man with Filipino roots) began constructing yo-yos in America. He was stunned with how American youngsters and adolescents took to the toy and started mass producing the product. Yo-yos are firmly embedded into toy culture across the globe. Therefore, celebrating this event may involve you throwing a Yo-Yo based party, whereby all those attending must bring a completely unique yo-yo. Alternatively, you could host a Yo-Yo Olympics, where designated events have specific yo-yo based prizes. #Yo-yoDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ced5nW6AZ5B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Tailors Day is a day where people are encouraged to dress their best and to reach out and thank the person that helps them achieve their high level of sartorial elegance. While off-the-peg clothes may have become commonplace, even among some of the best dressed, the tailor still plays an integral part in ensuring some people look their best, and Tailors Day is the day to thank them. There is no doubting the skill of a good tailor. They can create the perfect outfit, for any event, and can make even the most casual dresser appear elegant and attractive. It stands to reason, therefore, that they should be properly celebrated. Arguably the best way to celebrate the day, and to show thanks, is to wear a suit or outfit that was professionally tailored to fit. However, some people that are especially grateful choose to buy cards and even gift baskets for their tailors. Arranging for a new suit could be considered an appreciable means of showing love for a tailor, because it means that they will be enjoying new custom and the sale of their skilled service. #TailorsDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeYHdy6gIng/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Every year on Repeat Day followers of this unusual event seek out activities and experiences they love so much that they want to do them over and over again. No-one is sure quite how this festival of going back for more started but popular activities include starting off with a viewing of āGroundhog Dayā, having the same favourite meal for both lunch and dinner and revisiting important places from your past, such as the spot where you got engaged, graduated or celebrated a personal triumph. Some take things further by repeating everything they say everything they say until others join in with the fun or ask what they are doing. Then the day can be rounded the day off by settling down again to watch Bill Murray win the heart of Andie Macdowell in Groundhog Day. If itās worth doing once; itās worth doing again. #RepeatDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #BreakTheTie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeVgBIjAF01/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Thereās something about the rich golden skin of a properly prepared rotisserie chicken that makes your mouth water, doesnāt it? While fried chicken and baked chicken are consumed every day, fewer people really get to enjoy the delicious treat that is the rotisserie style chicken, slowly spun over heat until it is evenly cooked all the way through to a pull apart consistency. Rotisserie chicken is available at stores all around the world, and Rotisserie Chicken Day celebrates them, their history, and their delicious flavors. #RotisserieChickenDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (em DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeTEwUPgMTL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
This nourishing substance was first put forward for its holiday in 2001 when the FOA sought to have milk recognized as a Global Food that had deep cultural importance to multiple cultures. During World Milk Day the United Nations promotes and sponsors events that elevate the importance of milk both as a nutritional staple of countries everywhere, but also emphasizing its economic importance for countries and small farm owners as well. An important development for milk took place in 1865 when Louis Pasteur first developed the procedure that still bears his name, pasteurization. Pasteurization is a process that renders milk safe to drink by gently boiling it between 60-100 degrees to eliminate the germs that naturally occur in it. Thanks to Louis Pasteur we can all enjoy milk without fear of contracting any disease it may carry, and it also makes it capable of storing it longer as a result! #MilkDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at Milk Day) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeQd0FTAYtu/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
No Tobacco Day was established with the goal of raising awareness of the dangers of this habit, and the thousands of lives it costs every year. Tobacco used to be considered an innocuous little treat for the civilized man, and even went so far as to be touted as healthy by business and (doubtless) paid off doctors to help promote it for use. A hundred years and millions of deaths later itās become undeniable that tobacco use is one of the primary killers of people all over the world. So if youāre one of the millions of people who light up a cigarette, step out for a cancer stick, or have a smoke, then let No Tobacco Day be your chance for a freer, healthier future. The average smoker spends around $4000 a year on cigarettes, imagine what you could do with that kind of money! No Tobacco Day can be your step towards economic freedom as well! #NoTobaccoDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeNqZADA3bd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
As with many things, the history of Loomis Day is actually the history of a man, and an event, and how they changed the world to come. Mahlon Loomis was a dentist in the 1800ās who had an idea that had nothing to do with teeth. He knew about the electrical properties of the atmosphere, and like Tesla had conceived of an idea to transmit electricity through the air to a distant location. His idea was, perhaps, off a bit. He thought to āchargeā a layer of the atmosphere to create an electrical conduit between two metal towers set high on mountaintops (Sound familiar?). What we find interesting about this entire process is that in the end, most if not all of Loomisās theories on how the atmosphere worked and, indeed, how his own apparatus worked were completely wrong. Loomis was able to successfully transmit information from one location to another, but the reasons it worked were not the reasons he professed. He felt that two kites, however many miles apart, flown at the same altitude, would be able to establish a DC circuit through the ionosphere and transmit information thusly. The results were exactly what he expected. The reason, however, was completely wrong. We know that his idea of creating an electrical circuit through the DC wouldnāt work as he described it, what was likely happening is, since the kites were at the same height the ākite wiresā that were being used to transmit and receive information would therefore be of the same size. This means the signal being sent from the transmitting kite would be at the correct frequency to be received on the other end. In short, it worked, but not how he thought it did. #LoomisDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeLnfg3g4Gn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Calling all smart cookies! Biscuit Day offers the perfect chance to go crackers about one of the worldās most popular snacks. But did you realise just how many types of biscuit there are? American biscuits are small crusty bread rolls, often served at breakfast or as a side dish. However, in the UK, the word ābiscuitā is used for flat sweet treats which are known as ācookiesā in the US. One of the most unusual traditional British varieties is the Garibaldi. Also known as the āsquashed fly biscuitā, it contains currants in between two layers of dough. There are few crumbs of information about just how Biscuit Day started, but thatās no reason to miss out on the celebrations. So bake up a treat for friends and family, or just settle down with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy one of your favourite varieties. #BiscuitDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at DAHCOR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeIopBZACox/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
The invention of the hamburger has been claimed by so many that thereās only one real origin. Hamburg, Germany. No matter who says they invented the hamburger, no one can deny that it was the second-largest city in Germany that was its namesake. While not all types of āburgersā resemble the meat that came out of Hamburg, they all have the roots of their preparation in this noble city. Hamburgers have come to be a symbol of all that is right in the world in the modern day. Barbecueās where families gather, surprise rewards from your boss, a quick bite to eat on your lunch break or the first date shared with a new potential partner. All of these things can, and often do, include the hamburger in any one of a million of its potential preparations. Burgers no longer are made from just beef either, these days you can find Turkey Burgers, Buffalo Burgers, Chicken Burgers, Emu Burgers, any of a million forms of meat all ground down and compacted into this most recognizable form, the āhamburgerā. Who would have thought that such a simple meal could come to represent so many things? #HamburguerDay #RacketOfTheDay #CustomMade #TennisRacket #breakthetie (at Hamburg) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeG7d20g1U9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
