A three-circle venn-diagram where the circles are "sex workers", "the furry community", and "people working in morgues". I don't know what the overlap parts are.
"The value of the physical form and what is done with it / how it is presented may be either sacred or immaterial depending on the beliefs of the first party, but no matter the case, the first party should have the choice to alter, modify, and impliment whatever physical aspects desired or required for the desired outcome to be achieved regardless of the aesthetic or philosophical preferences of those unaffected", but also "Everybody else thinks they know exactly what your job is and has an opinion on it despite zero first hand experience"
ok, well that's a pretty mean thing to say, random person.
Who determines the "spirit" and "soul" of a sonic fan-character? Like all fan-characters, Biscotto was made with love. Not as a joke. It's an unconventionally shaped mobian, but is it not still a mobian?
You know, we can look at this almost from a meta point of view. Biscotto is dismissed here for not looking "normal." It's "funny," it looks like a monster. The people who truly know Biscotto understand its sweet, mild-tempered nature. They understand the strange circumstances of its existence, and strange circumstances are often how these fan-kids are created.
I may be sleep deprived, but I do know this at least: Biscotto The Rabbit's one and only goal is to make friends and enjoy living its life as a free creature of Mobius, like any other -- With no eyes judging it for how it looks above the softness of its heart.
Patrick Page did an amazing job, especially considering his left foot was still in a boot from his injury. (Watsonian explanation: Cerberus played a little too rough with him one day.)
I loved getting to see all their facial acting up close
Amber Gray's ability to show grief and pity and fear through her facial expressions alone was amazing
It must be so fun being the trombone player, and the piano player, and the drummer, okay any of the musicians or cast members
I remembered that the fates circle Eurydice a lot but it was neat seeing how they circled Persephone at one point too. Like she too was bound by the fate of having to go back to Hades.
Loved the shot-from-below or shot-from-above shots of people looking down into the middle of the stage or people sinking/rising from the middle of the stage. Incredible sense of space with the filming.
So if you work for Hades, you get a company-issued tube top and leather overalls (with knee pads!) but you don't get goggles immediately? Is there a probationary period?
(Watches some more...) Oh! It was symbolism!
There's so much symmetry in the stage positions of Hades/Persephone and Orpheus/Eurydice to show the parallels between their relationships!
The close-up of Patrick Page as Hades trying so hard not to cry nearly broke me
When Hades sings "doubt comes in" when he's talking about Orpheus' test but you realize he's speaking from experience about the doubts that creep in when Persephone is gone T_T
Loved seeing the audience raise their glasses with the cast members at the end! And seeing the actors clink glasses with people in the first few rows!
My husband kept walking directly behind me when we went to eat after, yelling don't turn around! I half-turned at least three times and fully turned around when I got to the door and he was gone (because he was throwing something away)! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME???
I would fail Orpheus' test every time. I'd want to know if my husband was okay but also in the moment if he said something, I'd totally forget the rule and turn.

I think a few people came to this conclusion as well, but I realized after getting to watch Hadestown proshot, that the villain of the musical isn't Hades. It's the Fates. Eurydice dies because they take her things. They try to discourage Orpheus twice, succeeding the second time. They convince Hades that no matter what he chooses, he'll be either seen as weak or a monster. Your own fate is often scarier than any beast or king.

kinda want an au where a random civilian makes a wish for their famed hero to love them more than anything in the world. the people in that series are such heartless jerks sometimes that someone making that wish and following in bear's footsteps is so conceivable.
