Self. Harm. Is. Not. Fucking. Beautiful. okay? Youāve never cut before? Donāt start, I beg you please donāt. This is part of my arms after 3 and a half years of cutting. It goes like that all the way to the top, and all the way down my legs too. Itās not poetic, orĀ ābeautifulā. Thereās no perfect relationship where the guy saves you and you both live happily ever after. Itās steri strips and stitches when they get too deep. Itās constantly knowing that you have blades, just in case you need them. Itās having to spend money on bandages and big plasters, itās going into hospital and having to look a doctor in the eye and tell them how you did that to yourself.Ā Cutting is the worst mistake I ever made. It put me in a and e so many times. Itās not aĀ āfashion trendā. It is an addiction. One thatās never going to leave me. Even when Iām 40 and have a partner and kids, the scars will still be there to remind me of my illnesses. Iām not proud of my scars, I hate my arms and I cry almost every day because I want the scars to go.Ā
This is a message to anyone about to pick up the blade for the first time: You will ruin your life by doing this, I know itās tough right now but cutting will only make it worse. Youāre beautiful. Go look in a mirror, take off your clothes and picture yourself with scars all over your arms and legs. That is what will happen to you if you start cutting. You are worth more than self harm. Donāt loose your fight kid, I believe in you.Ā
