A tribute painting to one of the best MMORPGs ever that’s saying goodbye to its Philippine servers.

Last week, I’ve expressed so much grief on Twitter along with my friendJuan Paolo Umpa, so I just had to do this piece. While painting, I listened to the town music and I can’t help but /sob on the inside while hearing Prontera’s music. Immediately, I can hear all the ambient sound effects, all the noise that’s in the city, all the priests buffing, the warp sounds, the “nagbabasag” sounds, everything. It was one whole community. With all the “pabaps po”, Novices and newbies be like “palimos po”, players wanting to be transported to GH, “pawarp po sa GH” and sometimes, they’re rich enough to pay 10k for it. or 5k. But when you’re kuripot like me, I’d wait for a warp portal to open and just singit my way through. Haha! Prontera’s south up to it’s middle part would be full of merchants and smiths selling, trading, buying stuff and equipments. Other players opening a pub looking for equips, buying elus and oris, etc. “Palengke sa ingay”, I used to say. I remember the times when as a teenager (yuck, tanda ko na), I was excited to go home from school and sit for hours para “magpalevel”. I had a priest and a wizard back then and I had the priest in bot (don’t judge), following my wizard, buffing in support, all over while killing high orcs and archers in orc field. I wish we could go back to those classic, simpler days. I miss being a kid.

Goodbye, Philippine Ragnarok Online! We’re gonna miss you lots.
