This photographic series was created alongside An Appeal, and transcribes the poetic spoken components of that sound installation which were formulated from David Walker’s An Appeal in Four Articles (1829) and Frederick Douglass’s famous speech “The Meaning of the July Fourth for the Negro.” (1852).
