Being trans taught me something most people never learn: happiness doesn't come from becoming someone else. It comes from finally allowing yourself to be who you've always been.

31 trans. I teach piano lessons. I'm happiest when life is simple: a good meal, a clean apartment, and enough free time to get lost in a documentary about something I knew nothing about the day before.

One thing I've learned from my trans journey: The people who truly care about you don't disappear when you start living as your authentic self. They stay.
