The first cherry Patrick picks, he plops into his mouth. The skin bursts and reveals soft, juicy flesh, the perfect balance between sweet and ever-so-slightly sour. This has become a ritual: The first and last fruits Patrick finds go straight into his stomach, the rest get neatly organized in his basket.

The clearing that leads him into the forest is as familiar to Patrick as the back of his hand. The cherry trees that line the entrance into the wild green woodland are only the first stop on his path, in full bloom and offering enough cherries that he could fill the entire basket with just the small red fruits. But Patrick is nothing if not eager, excited for a harvest as luscious as his dreams.

He heads for a familiar corner of the forest next, where sturdy trunks block out some of the light, excited when the white blossoms he hoped to harvest come into his sight. Whistling a cheerful tune, Patrick gets out his scissors and carefully begins cutting stems of elderflower. He just finished the last sip of syrup this morning, knowing that today would yield another batch of the delicious white blossoms that might as well fill the entirety of his basket. Instead, Patrick restrains himself—while elderflower syrup might be his favorite, it will not fill his stomach, and a man of his size needs to eat more than a few cherries to satiate his hunger.

When he is content with the yield, Patrick ventures further into the forest, territory just as welcoming to him as his cottage. On a fallen tree trunk, he finds what he’s looking for: squishy brown mushrooms, the ones his mother used to fry in that delicious stir of hers.

The sun warms Patrick’s face as he works, golden rays finding their way through the foliage above and dancing on his light golden skin. He likes watching the light form patterns on his hairy arms, flowing as he works to fill a corner of his basket with nothing but edible fungi. He has to kneel down to reach them, his stomach softly resting against his wide thighs.

Once the mushrooms, too, have filled their little space, Patrick rises with a low grunt. He’s unsure of where to go next, of which direction to take on merely one of the many days he has access to this wide array of offers that the nature around his cottage so graciously provides him. Instead of making a decision himself, Patrick decides to close his eyes and spin around a few times, stopping intuitively when the sound of an animal catches his attention. He opens his eyes to spot the hind of a deer running off slightly to his left.

“Left it is,” Patrick mumbles to himself, then he follows the deer.

“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.

“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”

“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”

Welcome to Shousetsu Bang*Bang International Park! Shousetsu Bang*Bang, better known by the acronym “SSBB”, is the world’s oldest (that we know of) international park dedicated entirely to the cultivation and preservation of original queer smut.

Since 2005, SSBB has gathered over 12 million words of endangered and threatened erotica, protecting them and making them accessible so that visitors from around the globe can continue to enjoy them for internet generations to come. We believe that a diverse ecosystem is a healthy ecosystem, and that a healthy ecosystem is one allowed to flourish wherever it feels most comfortable, which means you won’t find artificial divisions between biomes or rigid gatekeeping of ecotones here.

Instead, here in our pages, you’ll encounter majestic work-unsafe sights featuring a vibrant array of genders, bodies, identities, relationships, genitals, and kinks, all in their natural habitats. We encourage you to start at the beginning of the issue and follow the path as you venture through its contents, taking things as they come and letting yourself be surprised by what you might encounter. Of course, some guests may choose to curate their own experiences, and that’s fine too! What matters is the relationship you cultivate with what you find here.
