Looking back at everything I was posting leading up to seeing TROS hurts.

I’ve got my wine and they were giving out little fan event pins. 

I can’t look any of my fellow movie goers in the eye, because I know what they’re about to get hit with. However, the few of us that are already here are having a decent little chat. Finnreys on my left, OT fanboys behind me, and a really nice lady who just enjoys the shows. 

Time to see this dumpster fire for myself.

I was asked what could be done in response to TROS and I gave a couple of suggestions that I will list below. 

But then I had one of those pouring another coffee at work ideas that hit me and, while I don’t think it would bring about any real change, it gave me a few giggles. 

I think we should all start sending dictionaries to JJ with words like “fun”, “satisfying”, and “hopeful” highlighted. We all know they’ll never remake the movie, but we could learn the man something!

Did The Mandalorian REALLY just do that to us, knowing what we’re about to walk into with The “Rise” of Skywalker?!?!?

I will be seeing the movie at 5:00 PM (US CST - Houston, TX) on the 19th. This is the earliest showing that I could find a ticket to and I will be on this blog the second the movie is over. 

THANK YOU!!!!! This negative hysteria that has been produced by what, as of now, can only be called rumors is off the charts! You hit the nail on the head with this! I wish the rest of the fandom could get on your level of understanding!

I don’t care what is said in between now and then, I’ve still got my ticket and I will be in that theater Friday night seeing for myself. 

You are so, so welcome!! I was shocked at the amount of it that flooded the tag when I checked in this morning. It’s hard to not worry when we start seeing so many bad “leaks”, but we’ve stayed strong for four years now - I think we can all manage a few more days. 

These premieres are locked down tight in terms of anyone getting near the actual content they are showing. From my understanding, the premiere was ten minutes of still photos from various scenes throughout the movie and then an after party. From what we’ve heard after previous releases, NDAs are pretty standard at Star Wars premieres. The mouse likes to keep his secrets. Below is a quote about what this “reylo” received as her prize - note that the description is pretty vague as to what the premiere is (still shots or the movie itself). I included the link to the Omaze site for receipts: 

“Details: Winner and guest will go to the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in Los Angeles, go to the after-party, and meet Adam Driver. Winner will receive a signed crossguard light saber. Flights and hotel included.”

I would like this to be a well written post, but bear with me because it will probably turn into a rant with how passionate I am about this. 

Yes, there are absolutely some really negative “leaks/ spoilers” about a disappointing ending for Ben fans. Some of them may have actually come from people who were at the premiere like they said they were, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they were true. How many years have we put up with bullying and lies from the antis? When TLJ came out, didn’t they stick to their story of how Rey would be revealed as Luke’s daughter within the first part of the film until we all started to get into theaters and see it for ourselves? 

I could be wrong, every single leak out there could be true. But doesn’t it seem more realistic that they might be trying to ruin the final hours for us before the movie becomes available for general viewing? We have heard nothing but positive from JJ and the cast about this movie. They promise it is hopeful, satisfying, romantic, comedic, we won’t leave the theater disappointed, etc. Could they really say all those things knowing that we were about to watch the last of the Skywalker bloodline die on a big screen? Adam came out and said that his role as Kylo Ren/ Ben was an exact opposite of Vader’s. How could he say that if Ben ends up dead at the end, just like Vader did? Would anyone truly be happy about Rey just randomly assuming the Skywalker name? Furthermore, would Carrie Fisher, our dearly beloved Space Mom, have signed on for this ST knowing that her son’s redemption and fate was his death? I like to think that our number one defender of hope would have wanted better for him than that. I know it is hard, but please, please try to keep some perspective. Let’s all remember that piece of advice we have heard a million times - don’t believe everything you see on the internet. 

Apart from the antis, DLF does not have a history of letting real leaks live when it comes to Star Wars. Who remembers the blogger who got shut down because their theory was too close to the actual plot? If they would take down a theory to protect the film, I don’t believe they would let actual leaks stay online for so long. 

And for all of you out there who have commented on my posts or messaged me directly, telling me to stop giving people hope: GET TF OFF MY BLOG! Hope is what this blog is about. Hope is what STAR WARS is about! If we let go of the cornerstone of a story, then what is the point anymore?
