I knew I was going crazy, but I didn't know it was this bad.
That's my first thought as I stared at the figure that stood in the doorway of the medbay, we were about a few months away from Erid (if I had to guess) and I had now started to imagine things in my malnourished state.
Great, that's exactly what I needed. I looked back up at the ceiling, turning my head ever so slightly as that's all I had the energy to do— what do you do when you're hallucinating? This has never happened to me before, was it even normal to hullucinate when you're starving?
I mean, I can't really say hi right now, that would require a lot of energy and energy is something that's sort of on low supply for me. Do you even say hi to hullucinations? I mean, it felt rude not to.
I thought about calling to Rocky, but I knew I couldn't— it was so difficult speaking. I listen as the hullucination slowly took a few steps toward the bed, the presence of the man was slightly comforting.
Wait. Was it even a man? I leered over towards the hullucination and stared to get a better look... Certainly seemed like a man, or, at least vaguely human looking.
He (do hullucinations have pronouns?) was a pretty bulky man, had one arm and jet black hair that was slightly tangled— his clothes seemed to be completely made out of natural fibers. His arm was... Red? There were something like tendrils that wrapped around it and the sleeve was torn— on that same shoulder were spikes that jutted out harshly, ouch.
I looked back up at the man's face, on his left side his eye was red, he had a large tear accross his cheek with teeth that pointed out, and his ear was pointed in three spikes, and he was a Korean man.
Why would I be hullucinating a weird monster man? Why would I even be hullucinating at all, yeah I was malnourished but surely I wasn't on my death bed—
I darted my eyes up at the man, trying to figure out what emotion was splayed in his eyes— but his eyes didn't have any emotion however, granted, I was always bad at reading people.
Why was he sorry? I couldn't rack my brain around it, was this my body's way of letting me know that it was sorry that it was eating me alive?
"I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner."
The man spoke, okay, THAT was weird. I looked back up at the ceiling as I thought more about that weird phrasing, I looked back at the man- he was suddenly right next to my bed, if I had enough energy to I would have flinched.
I watched as the man reached down and pushed a strand of hair behind my ear, I let out a whimper in response.
