Poem #33
When she looked in the mirror
She saw her reflection
That showed her truest form
And yet, it wasn’t.
Her skin was pale with fear,
Her body full of scars,
Her damaged soul yearning to escape.
She had sinned, they now radiated
Off of her like the sun.
Except she was only a star,
One that had fallen.
She was sin,
Bound to go to hell,
Carry the burdens that others could not bear.
She watched her body aimlessly moving
To and fro:
That mirror was Satan
For he laughed so hard that she
Began to laugh with him.
The only thing not laughing was
Her soul, crying out silently in its cage.
