ᯓ★ Satoru Gojo

“Just give me a sec,” you mutter under your breath, fixing up your appearance a bit while staring at your reflection on your phone screen.

Satoru’s standing next to you, staring at your reflection as well with a large grin he’s not even bothering to suppress. You were just so pretty to him when you were all excited.

In front of you, two unopened blind boxes sit on the kitchen counter, waiting to be opened.

“‘Kay I’m done. Are you ready?” you turn to him, unable to hold back your smile, way too excited to mess with him.

“Always.” he replies with too much confidence, his grin turning into a smirk.

You nod and turn back to your device, reach out and press record. Once the three second timer runs out, you start talking. 

“Okay hi guys,” you start, resting your hands on the counter. “Today me and my friend are gonna be unboxing these snoopy blindboxes from popmart’s new event.” you raise the box up to the camera to properly showcase the packaging. 

Meanwhile, next to you, Satoru is frozen, and his grin has been wiped off his face as he stares at you directly instead of your reflection on the screen. 

You ignore the holes he’s boring into the side of your head with his eyes, and carry on. 

“I’m hoping to get the one where he’s holding a plushie and a blanket— this one,” you show the index of figurines at the back of the box whilst pointing to the one you mentioned. “It’s really cute.” you clear your throat and then turn to your “friend”.

“Tell them which one you wanna get.” you smile up at him innocently.

He furrows his eyebrows at you, bewildered. “What did you just call me?”

Your smile falters a little, almost breaking out into a laugh, but you hold back. “I didn’t call you anything…? Can you just tell them what you want—” he cuts you off.

“Uh, I want my girlfriend to address me correctly for starters.” he puts his hands on his hips, full attitude on. 

You feign surprise. “... what are you talking about? We’re just friends.”

“Are you serious right now?” he scoffs. “Just friends?”

You nod silently, as if the answer was obvious. 

“Alright then,” he mutters before stepping closer. His hands find your hips and he gently pulls you towards him. He cranes his neck down to be face to face with you. “Do friends do this?” he whispers before your lips meet. 

It takes you less than a second to lean into him and wrap your arms around his neck, whilst tilting your head sideways, wasting no time to deepen the kiss. His tongue swipes the seam of your lips before pushing past them. His large palms move behind your thighs so he can hoist you up, your legs wrapping around his waist instinctively. 

With you being lifted up, you both crane your heads accordingly so you’re the one leaning down while he’s reaching up for you, never breaking apart the whole time. 

You try to pull away for a brief moment to catch your breath, but he chases your lips immediately, as if to prove a point. 

It takes a while for him to finally let you breathe and pull back, his forehead resting against your own. 

He’s out of breath, but not as badly as you for whatever reason. “Well? Was that friendly enough for you?” he smiles up at you, proud of himself.

You don’t even have the energy to say anything snarky in response, so you just glare at him.

“Hey don’t look at me like that, it’s not nice. Is that really how you treat a friend?” he teases.

“Okay, enough.” you roll your eyes. “If you use that word one more time—”

“You started it.” he laughs.

You huff, half-annoyed, half-amused, and lean down to rest your head against his shoulder. Tilting your head sideways, you notice that your phone is still propped up and recording. 

He follows your gaze and notices it too. He shifts to hold you with only one arm before reaching the other towards your device. You expect him to turn it off or stop the recording, but instead he just holds it up to show you clinging to him. 

“Okay turn it off—” you reach for the phone, but he just holds it further away from you. 

“I don’t think so,” he coos annoyingly. “I need to show them how you behave with your supposed friend.” he dangles the phone in front of you.

You get off of him, standing on your own two feet again. “You’re so annoying.” you sigh. “I don’t even know why I’m with you sometimes.”

His eyes widen and he suddenly looks at the camera. “You hear that everyone? She just admitted we’re dating.”

“Why’re you getting excited? I literally said I don’t know why we are.” you fold your arms across your chest. 

“A win’s a win.” he shrugs and finally turns the phone off, setting it aside. “Besides, I know you don’t mean it.” he pouts and gets all up in your space, unashamed. “Right?” he tilts his head to press a kiss to your cheek.

“Yeah, yeah.” you try to dismiss him. But he just starts peppering your entire face with quick pecks, forcing you to acknowledge him. You flinch away, laughter bubbling out of you at the ticklish feeling. “Toru, stop!”

His hands rest on your waist, keeping you firmly in place so you can’t escape him. “Toru’s pretty good but—” he presses three more kisses across your face. “that’s not what I wanna hear right now…”

Desperate for him to stop, you comply. “Okay, fine! You’re my boyfriend, not my friend, I admit it. Now let me go–” 

He finally stops—not before pressing a lingering kiss to your lips though–and pulls away to look down at you. “That’s what I thought.”

ᯓ★ Suguru Geto

You’re currently standing in between Geto’s spread legs. He’s sitting on top of your toilet, using it as a makeshift chair for the occasion. You had insisted on doing his skincare and recording it.

It didn’t take him much convincing, as he was glad to make you happy. 

You stare at the skincare products lined up on your sink next to you, and then look back down at him. “I’m gonna start now, ‘kay?” you ask, and he nods silently, a serene smile on his face. Unaware of the stupid prank you were about to pull on him. 

You reach for your phone propped up against a bottle of shampoo on the edge of your bathtub and press record. “Okay hi everyone—” you cut yourself short to reach for his jaw and make him face the camera. “Say hi.”

“Hey,” he drawls, lazy smile on his lips. 

You let go of his face. “Today, I’m gonna be doing my friend’s skincare.”

His smile falters just a bit, and his eyebrow raises at the word friend. Did you really just call him that?

You turn away from the camera to reach for the first product and open the lid, facing the camera again. “Alright so for the first step, we’re gonna use a cleanser.” you gently splash his face with a little water, and apply the cleanser. 

Noticing the lack of reaction from him, you push further. “While I’m doing this, I’m gonna tell you guys how I met my friend Suguru here.” you add, still applying the cleanser and gently scrubbing it over his face.

His expression turns into one of amusement. It seemed like you were serious about this. 

Two can play that game.

“A mutual friend introduced us at a new year’s eve party,” you start telling your story. “And I—” your words are cut short when you feel his hands find your waist, his thumbs rubbing your skin through the fabric of your top. You give him a surprised look, a little flustered.

He feigns innocence however and quirks an eyebrow. “You were saying?”

You clear your throat before continuing. “Um, I was saying… I thought he was pretty intimidating with his piercings and long hair.” You manage to regain your composure. 

He scoffs. “Me? Intimidating?”

“Yes, you.” you nod. “You were all—” you go speechless once again when his fingers slip under your shirt. He leans closer, resting his chin against your stomach under the pretense of giving you better access to his face. But you know of his true intentions. 

“I was all what?”

You refuse to let him win however, and ignore your rapidly beating heart, reaching for the wet towel you prepared. You start wiping the cleanser off, and he maintains eye contact the entire time. Determined to make you break.

“You were all… tall, dark and brooding.” you finally answer, your voice coming out weaker than intended. You put the towel away and reach for a serum. “Okay now we’re gonna apply this serum to make his skin glow.” you show the product off to the camera. 

Using the dropper, you apply drops of the serum on his forehead and cheeks. 

This time, he closes his eyes as you spread the cool liquid across his skin. “Aren’t you gonna finish your story?” he whispers. 

You ignore the flutter in your stomach caused by the deep timber of his voice, and continue. “Right, um—” you clear your throat. “But then we actually spoke to each other and I realized he wasn’t that bad.”

“I wasn’t 'that bad'?” he teases, his fingers moving slowly to lift the hem of your top.

Your eyes nearly bulge out of your eye sockets, but you contain yourself. “I… yeah—”

“I wasn’t aware you initially thought so lowly of me.” he finally lifts the fabric high enough to reveal your stomach. Still being gentle, he starts pressing tender kisses to the exposed skin. 

Your knees almost give out at the sensation. “What are you doing?!” you whisper-yell.

He looks up at you while continuing to pepper kisses to your stomach. “I’m being friendly.” he teases, mockingly accentuating the word to draw attention to it.

Your hands move to brush his hair back, the dark inky strands tangled with your fingers. You wanted to pull him away by force, but you couldn’t find it in you. Not when he was handling you so lovingly. 

“Suguru…” you sigh out, almost out of breath from holding in your emotions so much.

“Mhm, what?” he whispers against your plush skin, too occupied with worshiping it to look you in the eye. “Aren’t you gonna tell them how we became friends?”

“I…” you stammer, feeling heat pool in your stomach.

“You should also tell them the story of our first kiss,” he whispers tenderly, his hands moving to grab at the waistband of your pants. “And don’t forget to mention how much of a mess you were. Your pupils were all dilated and you were out of breath and…” he pulls away to finally meet your eyes again.

You were a flustered mess right now, and he only smirked at the sight. 

“... yeah. Exactly like that.” he moves carefully to press a slow and painfully lingering kiss to your abdomen. “So beautiful,” he whispers against your skin. 

Your hands move to brush the remaining hair strands out of his face. 

At your silence he pulls back. “Go on. Tell them how much you loved kissing your friend.”

You roll your eyes despite your rapid heartbeat and blushing cheeks. “Okay, I get it.”

He chuckles in response. Unable to stop yourself, you laugh with him. Silence settles in for a while, and you hear the recording end itself, having reached the ten minute limit. 

You both eye the phone at the same time, and then look at each other. 

“... do you still wanna do your skincare?” you question tentatively.

His grin widens. “I’d rather do something else, if I’m being honest.”

“Me too.” you reply, all too quickly, and sigh with relief. 

He chuckles once again. “Thought so.” He stands up to his full height, towering over you. “Do you know what I wanna do right now…?” he asks, hands moving up from your waist to cradle your face.

“What?” you mumble back, leaning into him.

“Promote myself from friend to boyfriend again.” His lips meet the juncture of your neck and shoulders. He sucks at the skin for a bit before releasing it and licking the marking to soothe the ache.

“And… how are you gonna do that?” your grip on his shoulders tightens.

He pulls back but rests his forehead against your own. “I’d rather show you than tell you. No point in wasting time.” he looks at you for approval, but you only swallow the lump in your throat. “Look at how eager you are… I take that’s a yes?”

You nod, and he only laughs in response.

ᯓ★ Kento Nanami

You and your husband were currently sitting at your dining table, next to each other, with your phone propped against a glass of water you had on standby. In front of you sat a pretty box containing different pastries. It was from a nearby bakery that had opened recently. 

And as always, you two had to try it out. This time, however, you insisted on recording your reactions and reviews of the sweets. 

It had taken a lot of convincing, but he accepted in the end. 

“I’m gonna start now, alright?” you reach for the record button, buzzing with excitement. 

“Go ahead.” he muttered, leaning on the table with his elbows, dress shirt sleeves rolled up to his forearms.

You press on the button and pull back to hold the box. “Alright hello everybody, today we visited this new bakery in town and grabbed a couple pastries.” you show the box off. “I’m here with my friend Kento. Kento say hi,” you turn to him, smiling brightly.

His poker face instantly morphs into a scowl as his eyebrows furrow. He meets your gaze with a glare.

“What’s wrong?” you feign ignorance.

He stares at you in silence for a while. “...Friend?”

“Yeah…?” you eye him skeptically, as if he was the one behaving weirdly. “Anyway,” you turn back to your phone. “We’re gonna be tasting all of these and giving our review for each of them.”

Meanwhile, he’s glaring daggers at you the entire time. Still not over the fact you called your husband your “friend”. He sighs heavily, rubbing the lower half of his face in his palm and keeping it there, resting his chin in his hand. 

You ignore him, and open the box, showing off the pastries inside. “I’m excited for the cinnamon roll, what about you?” you turn to him again.

But he’s already looking at you, no, side-eyeing you. And although you can’t fully see his face, you can tell he’s frowning beneath his palm. It takes everything in you to not burst out laughing.

Once he notices the corners of your lips twitching, he speaks up, voice rough and tired. “You beg me to make a video with you, only for you to pull another one of your pranks.” he states calmly, not needing to do much for the absurdity of the situation to become evident.

You almost lose your composure, but reign it in. “What prank?” you continue playing along. 

He looks at you incredulously, as if he can’t believe you’re still going. The two of you stare at each other in silence, and you move to carry on and talk to the camera again, but he stops you. 

“Turn it off.”

You freeze. “What? Why?”

“Re-take it and introduce me properly,” he explains. “I didn’t spend months planning a proposal for you to introduce me as your friend.” he crosses his arms over his chest.

You can’t take it anymore once you see his visible frown now. It almost looks like a pout. Laughter escapes you, and you reach across the table to turn your phone off and stop the recording. 

He only sighs, exasperated with a little mix of relief. His tense shoulders instantly relax when he feels you lean against him, however. His heart melts at the sensation of your chest vibrating with laughter as he looks down at you. He tries—he really does—to keep a stern look on his face, but he fails. The subtlest smile forms on his lips. 

Your hand finds his chest, right above his heart. “I’m sorry for teasing you.” you coo before pressing a kiss to his neck. Pulling back, you look at your hand resting against him, and the shiny jewel on your ring finger. 

He seems to follow your gaze, and lifts a hand to rest it atop your own. Leaning down ever-so-slightly, he noses at your hair before whispering in that deep voice of his. 

“No, you’re not.” he kisses the top of your head. 

“Hm… you’re right. I’m not.” You chuckle once more.  “But that’s because I know you’ll forgive me.”

He shakes his head and sighs. “I shouldn’t let you take advantage of my patience like this.”

“Alright, alright. I’m sorry, truly.” You raise your head to face him properly. “How can I make it up to you?”

He stares at you for a moment, his eyes traveling back and forth between your own. “You could start by addressing me correctly.”

Your eyes soften, and your smile widens. “My dear husband Kento.” you murmur.

The warmth from his palm emanates onto your own, as he takes it and brings it to his lips for a soft kiss. “My dear wife.” he whispers back, forehead pressed against your own.

ᯓ★ Yuji Itadori

You sit down on your carpet, phone in hand. Yuji’s already sitting down beside you, smiling at you expectantly. He looked so excited. Poor him.

To his knowledge, the two of you were about to play Never Have I ever, and film it for a tiktok. 

But you had ulterior motives. 

“Okay, are you ready?” You ask him, propping your phone up on the coffee table in front of you. 

“Yeah!” he nods once, affirmatively.

You lean forward, press record, and regain your position. “Hi guys, today we’re gonna play Never Have I ever.”  you wave at the camera. “I have my friend Yuji here with me.” 

Yuji’s lazily leaning back against his palms, before he lifts a hand up, throwing up a peace sign at the camera. Until he replays your words in his head.

You ignore him and carry on, but he doesn’t even let you have the time to speak. 

He springs forward in an upright sitting position and whips his head to the side to look at you. “Wait what’d you say?” he looks at you stunned.

You fake ignorance, and look at him like he’s crazy. “... Um, I said we were gonna play Never Have I ever?” you quirk a brow at him.

“Nonono—after that. What did you… what’d you call me?” his eyebrows furrow.

“My… friend?” 

He blinks at you a couple times. “Why.”

You chuckle dryly. “What do you mean ‘why’? Because you’re my friend, that’s why.” you scoff, like the answer’s obvious. “Anyway, let me continue—” you turn back to your phone, but he’s quick to cut you off again.

He twists his torso to come in between you and your phone, effectively forcing himself back in your field of vision. “Uh, I’m also your boyfriend.” 

A small smile almost breaks out on your face, but you contain it. “No you’re not. What are you even saying?” you lift a hand to push his face away from you as he’s completely invaded your personal space. “Guys please ignore him, he gets weird sometimes.” you speak to your imaginary audience.

“Hello?!” he shouts, bewildered and wide-eyed. “I swear she’s lying! Look, look—” he leans in to press a quick peck to your cheek. “If you weren’t my girlfriend you wouldn’t—”

“Gross.” you wipe the spot he just kissed dramatically, feigning disgust. When you look up again to meet his eyes, you find that they’re wide open, and that his lips are parted.

“—like that...” he finishes his previous sentence and stares at you, still in shock.

You roll your eyes and attempt to dismiss him. “Can we just finish the video please?”

He huffs, a little frustrated but determined. You look away to face the screen again, but when you blink, you find yourself lying on the carpet.

He has you pinned down, one hand firmly planted on either side of your head. You blink up at him repeatedly, taken-aback. He’s staring back down at you with a hesitant look in his eyes. 

“... Did I do something? Is that why you’re mad at me?” his eyebrows knit together tightly. “I’m sorry.” 

“Yuji… I’m not mad.” You’re still a little shocked, but your hands find his waist regardless, your muscle memory kicking in. They caress him up and down through the fabric of his shirt. 

He falters, burying his head in your neck for a moment to breathe you in, a shiver running down his spine as you continue your gentle touches. He pulls back to look at you again. “Then why are you treating me like a stranger.” he remarks, rather than asking.

You chuckle softly. “It was supposed to be a prank. I saw it on tiktok.” one of your hands moves up to caress his hair. 

He sighs in relief at your words, and finally drops his weight onto you, hiding his face in the crook of your neck. His hands lift from the carpet to wrap around your form. “... Why do I fall for your pranks everytime?” he mutters against your skin, the feeling ticklish. But you can tell the question is more directed at himself than at you.

“I don’t know why either.” you laugh, the vibration of your chest against his soothing him. A beat of silence passes by, your laughter dying down.

He lifts himself above you just enough to be able to speak and look at you. “So… I’m still your boyfriend?” he asks, his voice coming out a little too weak for his liking.

You cup his face, tracing his scars with your thumbs. “Of course you are.”

His eyes dart back and forth between your own. “Say it… please,” he murmurs.

You stare at him longingly, before bringing his face down to kiss him. “My handsome boyfriend.” you chuckle against his lips.

He basks in your affection and reassurance, melting in your embrace as he leans down. “I love you,” he whispers, desperately chasing your lips with his own.

You make a few attempts at breaking away to catch your breath, but he doesn’t let you. “Okay, okay—” you giggle into his mouth “I love you too,” you put your hands on his shoulders to push him away, struggling in doing so. “But can you let me breathe for a moment?”

“You can breathe later. This is what you get for pulling a prank on me.” he mumbles before leaning down again, earning more giggles from you. 

It’s especially funny to you because he almost reminds you of a clingy puppy who refuses to stop licking its owner. 

But he doesn’t care how he looks, or how ridiculous he sounds. All that matters to him in this moment is having you in his arms.

ᯓ★ Megumi Fushiguro

It was currently pretty late in the evening, 11pm to be precise. You and Megumi had decided to stay up late and keep each other company. 

He’d decided to rearrange his bookshelf before going to bed. According to him, it wasn’t organized well enough, and he insisted that “the mess stares at me when I’m trying to sleep.”

Meanwhile, you were right next to him, sitting at his desk, getting ready for bed.

This time around though, you decided to stir things up a little. 

So you propped your phone in front of you against a random box you’d found nearby, and angled it in a way that made it possible to see your boyfriend beside you. 

You contain your smile as you watch his form on your screen, blissfully unaware of the stupid prank you were about to pull on him. 

You brace yourself for a moment before finally pressing the record button. 

“Hey guys, get unready with me while I tell you about my day.” you wave at the camera. 

Beside you, Megumi raises an eyebrow and throws you a quick glance before returning his attention to his books. He was used to you making little video diary entries.

But before you continue, you add “Oh—please ignore my friend in the background.” you wave your hand, as if shooing him away.

This time, he doesn’t throw you a quick glance, he glares down at you. 

You ignore the holes he’s drilling in the back of your skull with his eyes, and barely contain your laugh. But you’re already smiling. “Um, so, anyway… I went out shopping today and—” you cut yourself short when you notice he’s still staring at you. His gaze is just as dark and intense as before, and he hasn’t moved an inch.

You slowly turn to look back up at him. “... do you mind?” you try your best to sound annoyed, but the smile is audible in your voice. 

His eyebrows furrow further, as if in disbelief. “Are you serious?” he asks quietly, his eyes momentarily landing on your phone before returning to you. 

“What do you mean?” you tilt your head, feigning innocence.

He deadpans at you, before shaking his head and turning back to his books. “Forget it.”

You do the same and return to making your video. And for the rest of it, he doesn’t look at you again.

You end it, turning your phone off and setting it down flat on the desk before standing up and stretching.

He’s still tending to his books, his back facing you. Although you can’t see him, you can imagine him pouting.

Stepping towards him, you wrap your arms around his waist and look up at him. “Megumi…”

He ignores you, switching two books around. 

“Why’re you being so grumpy?” you lean against his shoulder.

You hear him click his tongue. “I’m not.”

“Yes, you are.” you press a kiss to his shoulder. “What’s wrong?”

His eye twitches, before he sets the book he’s holding down. He tilts his head to the side ever-so-slightly to look at you, before looking away again. A moment of silence passes before he speaks.

“... I thought you were fine with us being public now.” he mumbles.

Your smile drops. “What?”

Thinking you didn’t hear him, he dismisses you. “Nothing. Nevermind.”

You pull back but keep a hand on his arm as you step around him, wanting to face him properly. “Megumi, I am fine with us being public. Everyone knows we’re together. And I want them to know.”

His narrowed eyes meet yours. “Then why’re you calling me your friend in your video?”

“It’s a prank Megumi.” you reach up to cup his face. He doesn’t pull away.

His eyes widen just a bit. “... a prank.” he repeats, a little surprised.

“Yes, a prank—well, a tiktok trend, actually.” you respond. “But I’m realizing now it was stupid. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make it seem like…” you trail off.

“Like you’re embarrassed of me?” he scoffs.

Now you’re the one with wide eyes. “No! God no,” you shake your head. “That couldn’t be further from the truth.” you lean up to press a kiss to his cheek. A tender and slow one, to let him know you meant it.

You notice the way his previously tense shoulders relax, and the way his eyes flutter close when you kiss him.

“I love you.” you mutter. “I promise it was just a stupid prank.”

He stares down at you, eyes half-lidded and lips parted. He’s always had a hard time believing praise directed at him. But you made it hard not to.

Leaning forward, you kiss him again, near the lips this time. “Do you wanna make another video? I’ll introduce you properly this time.”

He looks down at you, a little curious, but he doesn’t want to let it show. “... do what you want.” he ends up grumbling.

You smile again, squeezing him before reaching for your phone. 

When you come back to him, you speak again. “Should we talk about that kid who threw a tantrum when you grabbed the last bag of chips earlier at the convenience store? I didn’t mention that in my video earlier.”

“Yeah ‘cause you conveniently left me out of your story.” he rolls his eyes.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m making it up to you right now.” you chuckle. 

“Fine. But you do the talking.” 

You beam up at him before nodding. “I’m gonna start recording now, okay?” you open your phone and the camera app.

“Wait.” he interrupts.

You turn to him. “What?”

He stares at you in silence before leaning down, his lips meeting yours. “... I love you too.” he whispers.

ᯓ★ Toji Fushiguro

The two of you are standing in the middle of your now open living room. You made sure to move some of the furniture out of the way for the occasion. 

“What occasion?” you may ask. The answer to that would be simple: you’d decided to challenge your boyfriend by making him do 50 pushups with you sitting on his back, and record it.

He didn’t seem too keen on the idea until you started taunting him and saying he wouldn’t be able to. He knew you didn’t mean it, and he wasn’t insecure by any means. But it wouldn’t hurt to prove you wrong.

Hence why you were now setting up your phone on your tv console. 

“You ready?” you glance back at him momentarily.

He folds his arms over his chest and hums in response. 

You press record and back up to be next to him. “Alright, hi everyone. Today I thought I’d challenge my gymbro friend by doing 50 pushups with me on top of him!” you clasp your hands together, masking your giddiness to prank him with simple and innocent excitement.

His smile drops slightly, and he raises an eyebrow. More so in confusion than anything else. He stares down at you for a moment, waiting for you to correct or explain yourself. But when you don’t, and he notices the small hint of mischief in your smile, it clicks. He lets out a huff that almost sounds like a laugh before shaking his head. 

At the sound of his reaction, you turn to him. “Is something wrong?” you pry, hoping he’ll bite. 

But he doesn’t. He’s played these games before with you, and he knows exactly what to do. “No. Carry on.” he lifts a hand to gesture towards your phone.

You furrow your eyebrows. Did he miss you calling him a friend?

“... what’re you waiting for, buddy?” he urges, drawing the nickname out.

No. He definitely didn’t miss it.

Fine. Be that way.

You look back at the camera. “Okay, we’re gonna start now.” You step aside to give him space on the carpet. 

He slowly drops down to his knees, maintaining eye contact with you the entire time, lazy smirk plastered on his face in mockery. Leaning forward, he places his palms flat on the ground on either side of his head, and straightens his legs behind him in perfect form. He’s not moving much yet, but you can already see the way the muscles of his back are contracting through his long sleeved black shirt. 

“I thought you wanted me to do pushups, not a plank?” he speaks. “You gonna stand there all day or what?”

You almost roll your eyes before stepping closer and squatting down, making yourself comfortable on your new seat for the next couple of minutes. You lift your feet off the ground, sitting in a cross-legged position on his back.

“Okay, three… two… one… start!” you give him a light pat on the shoulder.

He descends on cue, and brings himself back up with ease, a dry chuckle escaping him. 

“That’s one, two, three, four,” you count them, resting your face in your hands as you stare down at him with a grin. 

He stays quiet, too focused on maintaining his form to speak. His pace doesn’t slow down.

“Make sure you go aaall the way down, ‘kay?” you nudge the back of his neck with your finger.

Another chuckle escapes, and this time he breaks the silence. “I was stupid for thinking you’d play fair,” he huffs, making sure to go lower this time. Even though he didn’t need to, considering he was already going low enough.

You feign innocence. “I am playing fair, what do you mean?”

He simply sighs (although it ends up sounding like a grunt), too exasperated to argue with you.

A minute passes, and he finally achieves his 50th pushup, ending it by holding himself up in a plank. 

You get up and off of him, clapping while doing so. “Wow, I’m impressed. I thought you wouldn’t be able to do it.” You rest your hands on your hips. He moves to stand up as well, but you face away from him, and look at your phone instead. “What do you guys think? Should we make it a hundred next time?”

Toji laughs behind you, the sound raspy and deep. 

You tilt your head to look up at him. “Think you can handle—” you start but are immediately cut off. 

He silences you by pressing his lips to your own. His large and firm palms that were previously supporting his entire body weight, along with yours, have now wrapped themselves around your waist as he pulls you back towards him.

You let out a gasp, the sound muffled from him still not letting go. On the contrary, he deepens the kiss when you instinctively tilt your head back, your body betraying your will and instead obeying muscle memory. He breaches the seam of your lips with a heavy swipe of his tongue, unashamedly taking up space. 

You try to fight it off at first—you really do. But it eventually becomes too much to bear. 

The way his muscles had twitched and moved consistently as he moved up and down, carrying your body weight with ease. The thin line of sweat trickling down his nape and disappearing behind the collar of his dark shirt. The way his words had come out as grunts and groans while he spoke.

You couldn’t hold back anymore.

You pull away just enough to be able to turn around and face him properly, wrapping your arms around his slightly damp neck. 

He moves in tandem with you, his hands now finding your lower back instead. They apply pressure against it, forcing you to arch into him. A small chuckle rumbles through his chest at how easily you comply. 

If you weren’t feeling so hot and bothered right now, maybe you would’ve teased him back, or scolded him for mocking you.

He doesn’t take long before picking you up and placing your legs around his waist, without breaking the kiss. He turns around to make his way to the couch.

When he spins, your eyes open just enough to notice the phone still recording behind him. You pull apart, breathless.

“Toji—the phone,” you pant against him, forehead resting against his own. “Go… turn it off.”

He’s equally as winded, but looks back to glance at the device for a moment, before turning back to you. “... no,” he huffs, a smirk slowly forming on his lips. 

You narrow your eyes at him, a little confused.

“Let them watch,” he whispers against your skin. “Want ‘em to see I’m not your friend.” 

You stare down at him with wide-eyes, heat rushing to your cheeks, turning you even more red than before. You’re flustered, sure. But not completely opposed to the idea.

“I’ll take that silence as a yes.” he chuckles before laying you down on the couch.

What could possibly convince Sukuna to make a tiktok with you? 

You’d put a lot of thought into it. And after mulling it over, you finally got an idea. 

The two of you were currently standing in your kitchen, in front of your phone. 

“I’m gonna start now,” you quickly glance at him. 

He just grunts in response. 

You press the button to start recording. “‘Kay hi guys, today we’re gonna tell you things people do that we hate.” You clasp your hands together. “This is my friend Sukuna by the way.” you point to him besides you, barely containing your smile.

He slowly turns his head to look at you, visible disgust and disbelief on his features. 

You ignore the daggers he’s throwing at you with his gaze, and carry on. 

“I’ll go first, I hate it when people are slow walkers.” and you turn to him again. “Your turn.” you put a hand on your hip, the other resting against the edge of the counter.

He’s staring back at you, thick and dark eyebrows tightly furrowed into a scowl, lips sealed into a line. Clearly, he’s not amused.

“Something wrong?” you tilt your head, feigning innocence.

His disbelief grows at your insolence. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

“Huh? No…”

He stares at you in silence for a few seconds, trying to discern whether you were doing this on purpose or not. But the second the corner of your lips twitch, he knows. 

“Turn it off.” he commands, voice calm and steady. But you can tell he’s barely holding on by a thread.

“What? Why?” the hand that was resting on your hip falls to your side instead. 

He doesn’t bother explaining, instead opting to grab the phone himself and turning it off.

“Hey! What are you doing—” you reach up to take your phone back, but he holds it even higher. 

Seeing you drop your clueless act, he smirks and a scoff escapes him. “Teaching you a lesson since you wanna act like a brat.”

“Okay, fine I get it—Lesson learned.” You roll your eyes. “Can you give me my phone back now?”

“No I don’t think you do.” He keeps your phone suspended in the air. “I’m not your friend.” he stares down at you with narrow eyes.

You deadpan at him. “Yeah, I know—”

“Why’d you call me your friend then?” he steps closer, invading your space. You step away, your back hitting the counter. He takes the opportunity to corner you, his hand finding your waist. He holds you firmly in place, not letting you squirm away.

With him coming closer and closer, he starts engulfing your entire field of view. Your voice comes out weak and stuttery. “I.. It was just a prank,” you mutter.

“Oh, a prank.” he repeats amused, before setting your phone down somewhere behind him, freeing his hand of it so he can better hold you. “So you think you’re funny? Is that it?” his hands slip under the hem of your top, traveling up your sides. 

“I—” you start, but your words are cut short when his lips find the sweet spot underneath your ear, making your eyes flutter shut.

“You know what’s really funny?” he murmurs in-between kisses. “How easily you fold.” he pulls back enough to stare you up and down. He doesn’t miss the way you’re slightly out of breath, the way your knees are shaking, or the way your eyes are half-lidded. “... It’s pathetic.” he adds.

At his snarky remark, you manage to regain some composure, and throw a glare at him.

He chuckles dryly at your retort. “You’ve still got some fight left in you, huh? I should probably do something about that.”

Before you even have the time to respond, his lips are on you again, silencing you. You’re still annoyed at him, but you can’t find it in you to push him away. And he knows that. 

“Is this what you do with your friends? You make out with them?” he groans out. “Didn’t take you for a whore.” His laugh echoes through your mouth.

Your hands finally move from grabbing the counter to tangle in his hair. You pull roughly at the strands, half the reason being to scold him, and the other half being because you knew he liked it. The harsh tug earns you a grunt from him as his head is pulled back. 

He looks down at you, pupils dilated. Leaning forward, and letting his forehead fall against yours, the two of you regain your breaths in silence for a bit. He seems to be deep in thought, but you don’t pry, instead letting him speak for himself.

“... I’m not your friend, got it? Don’t say shit like that again.” he mutters, his voice coming out quieter and softer than intended. 

You almost pitied him. Almost. 

“Prove it, and I promise I won’t call you that again.” you whisper back, your hand moving to rest atop his head. 

Heat rushes to his cheeks, but his gaze remains focused, having understood the message. “You’re a brat, you know that?” he spits out again, amused by you taking advantage of his rare moment of vulnerability. 

“And yet you’re still getting on your knees.” you grin, watching him lower himself to the ground in front of you, your hand still braced in his hair.

“Yeah, yeah. Shut up.” He rolls his eyes before his hands find your hips in a steady hold. “Now open up.”

You chuckle, which unsurprisingly pisses him off more, but you comply anyway.

Your heart stops beating for a moment before resuming. 

No need to be nervous. You thought before putting the teapot back down and making your way to your front door. 

You check through the peephole to confirm it’s him, and sure enough, there he is. 

Your fingers move fast to undo the lock and you finally open the door. 

You’re met with a slouchier than usual Satoru, with downcast eyes and more prominent eyebags. 

“Hey,” you speak up, your voice quieter than intended. 

“Hey.” He responds, his blindfold still in hand before he shoves it into the pocket of his jacket. 

You step aside, letting him enter. “Come in.”

He looks at you for a second too long before ducking his head ever so slightly under the smaller door frame of your apartment and entering. 

Closing the door behind him, you hold your hands up in the air, offering to take his jacket off. 

He throws you a glance over his shoulder before shedding it off himself and handing it to you with a mumbled “Thanks.”

You nod with a small smile before hanging the fabric up and turning back to him. “Um, follow me.” You step past his comically large frame and make your way to your kitchen. 

You try to ignore the sound of his footsteps behind you and the way it makes your heart race. You weren’t used to having someone in your space like this. Especially not at midnight. 

“I’m not sure what kind of tea you like, so…” you trail off, setting his mug and the container of tea flavors in front of him. 

He eyes you for a moment. “Whatever’s sweet.”

You raise an eyebrow before a chuckle escapes you. “Tea isn’t supposed to be sweet.”

For the first time since he got here, the corners of his lips quirk upwards. 

“I can add honey though.” You turn to reach into your pantry for said ingredient. 

After a little while, you make him his tea, and your own. 

He sits on a stool at your counter, while you’re standing opposite of it, leaning against the cool marble. 

His long fingers trace the rim of the mug repeatedly, as he watches the steam curl up in the air from the boiling hot liquid. 

You take a few sips, watching him carefully before speaking. 

“Is everything okay?” You set your tea down on the little coaster you took out. 

He shrugs, still with that small smile of his. Although you can tell it isn’t sincere in the slightest. “Why wouldn’t it be?”

“You tell me.” You mimic his shrug. “It doesn’t seem like everything’s okay to me.”

His hand stops its motion on the cup, and it instead moves to hold it, dwarfing it as he lifts it up to his lips to take a sip. 

You note the fact that they’re chapped, which is uncharacteristic of him.

“A couple people died.” He speaks bluntly after swallowing his tea. 

You freeze, and your stomach drops. “On your mission earlier?” You ask with a calm and measured tone. You refused to let your composure fall. Not when he clearly needed reassurance.

“Yeah.” He whispers, his voice hoarse. “Couldn’t get to them in time.” He adds after swallowing the lump in his throat, which does nothing to soothe his raspy voice. 

Your grip tightens on your mug. What were you supposed to say? 

It’s not your fault. 

You did what you could. 

It just happens sometimes. 

You knew for a fact that if you were told those things while in his shoes, they wouldn’t make you feel better. 

So you offer him silence instead. A heavy, but comfortable silence that lets him know you’re there for him. Or at least, you hope he knows. 

Once he notices you’re quiet, he looks up at you through his tired, bloodshot eyes.

“I sound really weak right now, don’t I?” He scoffs. 

Although the question is obviously rhetoric, you still answer. 

“You do.”

His eyes twitch to open just a tad more. He looks at you in slight surprise. 

Seeing his confusion, you elaborate. “But is it such a bad thing?” You question, and your gaze returns to your tea. “Being weak, I mean.”

“It is for me. I’m supposed to be the strongest.”

There it is. That title. The strongest. 

It sounds so heavy, charged with responsibility and duty. You couldn’t stand it. You wondered how he could stand it. 

“You’re not a god.” You state, your voice measured and steady now. 

His eyebrows furrow as he looks at you. 

“You’re allowed to be weak.” You add. 

“By who?” He retorts immediately, his tone bitter. 

You go quiet, unsure of what to answer. 

He lets go of his mug to hide his face in his hands, sighing into them. “I don’t have a choice.” His hands slide up and brush his hair back. “They need me.”

Your heart squeezes painfully at the sight of him. You set your own cup of tea down, sitting in silence, before rounding the counter to reach him. You raise a hesitant hand up, before resting it on the wide expanse of his back. 

“... They don’t need you tonight.” you caress him through the light fabric of his black compression shirt, before your hand stops at his shoulder.

He finally lets go of his face to tilt it in your direction and glance at you instead. You notice the way his clear blue eyes travel across your features, white lashes fluttering in the process. They linger on your lips for a moment, and you feel your heart stop. 

Flustered out of your mind, you retract your hand and take a step back. “Um, join me on the balcony…?” you point to the patio door behind you. “The breeze is nice tonight,” you add, your voice growing quieter under his watchful gaze.

His expression remains unreadable, and his eyes stay half-lidded even as he nods in response to your suggestion. He follows closely behind you as you turn away and make your way to your balcony, leaving the door open for him. 

The second the soft wind brushes your features, your shoulders relax, and you feel yourself cool down. You step towards the edge of the balcony, resting your forearms on the railing and looking down at the city below you. 

You can feel his towering presence behind you before he joins your side and rests his palms against the cold metal bar.

“... do you always let strangers into your home so late?” he questions, and you can hear the smile in his voice.

“You’re not a stranger.” you chuckle, as if his question was ridiculous.

He glances at you, his smile softening. “Who am I then?”

You take a deep breath, contemplating whether you should say what’s on your mind or not. “... my friend Satoru.” you finally look away from the street below you to stare back at him.

“Friend, huh?” he lifts an eyebrow, a cocky smirk forming on his lips. 

“Aren’t we?” you tilt your head.

His smirk drops, and his eyes widen ever so slightly at the sight of your confused pout. 

Oh, he can’t tease you. Not when you’re looking up at him with those eyes. 

Pink rushes to the tips of his ears before he looks away and leans further against the railing. He buries the lower half of his face with his hand before mumbling into his palm. “Yeah, we are.”

“Okay, good.” you smile, before your gaze trails back down to the street facing your apartment building. You watch a couple cars drive by before a realization hits you. “Oh I forgot our tea cups—” you let go of the railing and turn to step back inside and retrieve your mugs, but he stops you, lightly grabbing your wrist.

You look back at him over your shoulder and hum in confusion.

“Don’t go.” he keeps his eyes glued to the view, refusing to look you in the eye. “... forget the tea.”

You stare at his figure for a moment with curiosity, before turning your hand in his grasp and holding his hand. “Alright then,” you mutter as you take measured steps to reach his side. “I’m right here.” you lace your fingers with his and hold your hands up in front of him, making a gesture of encouragement.

His hand is cool but soft, and his fingers feel just as large as they seem. Upon closer inspection, you notice a faint beauty mark wedged in between his thumb and index finger. The sight of it makes you wonder if he has any other hidden moles. You clear your throat, willing to push the ridiculous intrusive thought out of your mind.

“... thanks.” he mutters, his voice barely above a whisper, clasping his fingers around your hand.

“No problem.” you smile, unable to contain it. 

His own lips twist into a grin at the sight of you. He could never stop himself from smiling with you. Almost as if your bubbly personality was contagious. 

Noticing you’re still holding onto his hand, you let go, and instead fold your arms over your chest. You didn't want to let it go, but you were scared of holding on, and the implications that would come with it.

The two of you sit there in silence for a while, before you speak up again. You both slip into easy and mindless conversation, occasionally poking at each other, laughing, or having one of you staring at the other when you think they aren’t looking. 

Both unconsciously falling for each other. Slowly, but surely.

The work outs were paying off, that much was obvious. It wasn't a huge difference (although you'd beg to differ), but it was noticeable nonetheless.

However, Yuji being his usual self-deprecating self, he could only see the flaws in his physique.

Sure, he'd gotten bigger, and had never been more ripped before, but this rapid growth came with a price.

Stretch marks.

He tried to ignore them at first, convincing himself that they didn't matter and that they would probably fade away.

But even now, a couple months later, although they'd gotten paler, they were still painfully obvious. To him, at least.

It was especially bad now that it was summer, because the contrast only got worse with his tan.

Leaning forward with his hands planted on the cool marble framing the sink, he inspects the marks adorning his biceps and pecs.

One of his large and scarred hands comes up to trace the jagged patterns. They don't have a very prominent texture or feel to them, but the slight dents are enough to make his eyebrows knit together in frustration and dissatisfaction.

Suddenly, a knock is heard on the other side of the bathroom door. "Yuji, you good in there? You didn't slip and fall did you?"

His hand flies away from his stretch marks immediately. "Nope! I'm good," he replies.

"Do you mind if I come in?"

He doesn't answer you, opting to just open the door for you instead.

Your eyes land on his face for approximately a second before immediately trailing down to his body.

He feels his cheeks redden as he notices your lips breaking out into a grin. "... what?" he asks.

"You look like a glazed doughnut." you chuckle before stepping forward and wrapping your arms around his middle. You press yourself against him, your chin resting in between his pecs as you stare up at him. "Delicious," you mutter against his skin before pressing a kiss to it.

He only scoffs, his hands finding your lower back.

"You've gained a lot of muscle considering you've been training for a pretty short amount of time." You continue giggling, and kiss him again. "It's totally worth it though, you look amazing."

"I mean, thanks, but..." he trails off.

That makes you stop your affections, and you pull away just enough to face him properly. "But what?"

"Is it really worth it? My skin's all fucked-up looking now."

Now you're really snapped out of your lovey-dovey trance. You let go of him and even take a step back, your face now decorated with a frown. "What?"

He notices how serious the air between you two feels now, and tries to retreat. "Forget it," he clears his throat awkwardly.

"Um, no―" you scoff. "What do you mean your skin is all fucked up?"

He sighs and looks away. "Can we just drop it, please?" he folds his arms over his chest.

Unable to stop yourself, you eye the bulging muscles in front of you. But they're not the only thing that stand out. That's when you notice the faintly noticeable pale markings on the insides of his arms, and upper part of his pecs.

"... are you talking about your stretch marks?" you ask, your tone softer and apprehensive.

His gaze snaps back to you, and his eyes widen, as if caught red-handed.

Once you realize you hit the nail on its head, you sigh. "Yuji... that's ridiculous. They don't make you look bad."

"They do though," he argues weakly.

"No, they don't." you step back into his personal space. "They're just lines on your body―barely visible ones."

He doesn't meet your eyes, still unconvinced.

"Did... did someone say something to you?" you reach for his face, caressing his cheek with your thumb.

"No." he shakes his head softly, so as to not lose your touch.

You sigh. "Do you wanna know what I think?"

He remains quiet, but finally meets your eyes again, signaling for you to continue.

"I think they're hot. And I think you look good with them." you shrug.

"You're just saying that 'cause I'm your boyfriend."

"So? That doesn't mean I'm a liar or that I have bad taste." you gently redirect his face to yours so he looks at you. "I mean it, Yuji."

He looks at you incredulously in silence, as if waiting for you to backtrack and reveal you were joking, or something of the sort. But when he's only met with a sincere and determined look, his expression softens.

He sighs, and leans down to bury his face in your neck. You immediately move in tandem, wrapping your arms around his neck. You breathe him in, nose buried in his hair.

"... did you use my strawberry shampoo?" you chuckle.

He nods against you. "... wanted to smell like you."

Your fingers caress the short hairs at the back of his head, sending a shiver down his spine.

Suddenly, he leans down, situating his hands on the back of your thighs before lifting you up and walking out of the bathroom, making sure to turn the light off in the process.

You wrap your legs around his waist and pull back to stare down at him. "See, if you didn't have those stretch marks you probably wouldn't be able to do this." you smile.

He's gazing up at you with a serious and serene expression. Stepping closer to the bed, he carefully sets you down on it, looming over you and caging you in with his arms. You stare at them on either side of your head, his markings on full display for you.

Leaning in, you close your eyes and litter his biceps with feather-light kisses, making sure not to miss his scars. When your gaze finds his again, you notice his flushed cheeks and half-lidded eyes.

Your legs fall back against the mattress, the towel around his waist slowly slipping off in the process.

"... you might wanna get some clothes." you grin up at him.

"I don't need clothes for what I'm about to do," he murmurs, leaning in to press his lips to your neck. He's gentle, not wanting to bruise you just yet.

Your grip in his hair tightens as your eyes flutter shut instantly, the searing touch of his lips against your skin acting as a soothing balm.

"Actually..." he leans back, and his eyes scan your body. "I think you should get rid of your clothes." his hands move to the bottom hem of your shirt, lifting it up slowly.

He moves down, trailing kisses up your abdomen, stopping just short of your chest. He cranes his neck to look up at you. "... can I?"

Your hands find his face and you cradle it, thumbs soothingly rubbing his warm cheeks.

He looks up at you expectantly, but you can tell he's reigning himself in, not wanting to rush or pressure you.

You nod silently, fingers carding through his hair now.

He moves back up to be face to face with you, and presses his lips to yours. His tongue pushes past your lips, earning a muffled moan from you.

He pulls away momentarily, but stays close. "Thank you," he whispers against you.

You open your eyes again just enough to see him through your lashes. His forehead rests against yours as he attempts to catch his breath.

"Of course," you nod once more. "... you'll tell me the next time you feel like this, right?"

His dimmed hazel eyes move back and forth between your own. "I will." he mutters before kissing you again.

You let your overthinking get to you. Maybe this really was a trap. In any case, you had to be prepared.

Meanwhile, Valko was rushing over to you. He’d gotten held up in a stupid meeting that went on for too long, and got out of there as soon as it was over. 

Usually he’d get to you by his usual means of transport, but this time, the situation was dire. 

Hence why he’d decided to shift into wolf form to get to you. 

…

Crack

You hear the sound of a wooden twig snapping behind you, and immediately turn to face the source of the sound, your gun loaded and raised ahead of you. 

Whatever it is—or whoever it is—it’s hidden behind a large bush. You watch it rustle as it makes its way towards you. 

You breath out through your nose. Calm, steady, and prepared for whatever comes out at you. 

That’s when you see a head of dark fur poke out of the bushes. The further it reveals itself, the easier it is to discern what it is: a five foot-something red wolf with piercing yellow eyes. 

You keep your gun raised, but your finger isn’t resting on the trigger anymore, and your guard has lowered. 

You’ve never seen anything like it. You knew wolves were big, but you didn’t expect them to be so massive. This one in particular nearly stood at your height. 

And that’s not to mention the burgundy fur. Red wolves typically had a warmer tone to their hair, but this one looked like it’d been soaked in wine. The richness of the color reminded you of something (someone), but you couldn’t recall what exactly.

You watched it carefully as it approached with calculated steps.

And upon getting a closer look at it, your heart melted. It no longer looked like a predator or a fearsome creature, but rather like an oversized dog. 

You strapped your gun back to your thigh holster and walked up to the beast with your arms held out in front of you. “And who are you?” you smiled while inquiring, as if it could answer you.

He froze in his steps, almost confused. 

Did you not recognize him? He was certain you knew about him being a werewolf… Or did you just think his ears and tail he had in his half-wolf form were decorative? 

He should probably shift back into human form, and get your little meet up over with. But… he couldn’t help himself. So he remained frozen in front of you, letting you approach him instead.

And when you reached him, and rested your hand atop his head, he allowed you to pet him. You nearly gasped at the softness of his fur, and immediately started scratching him all over, trying to find his sweet spot. 

What is she—?

His train of thought was interrupted by a sudden wave of giddiness washing over him. 

“Oh? Found it.” you chuckled, and continued caressing him. “This is where you like being pet, right?”

His eyes closed, and he leaned further into your hand, too overcome with the pleasant sensation to snap out of it and pull away.

Upon hearing the wolf whine softly, and seeing his tail swoosh behind him, your other hand moves down to scratch under his chin. He steps closer, circling you, his fluffy tail brushing up against your leg. 

You nearly squeal from excitement. “You are so cute!” you reach for his face and pat it playfully. 

Valko should really stop. He wasn’t a house dog, he shouldn’t be enjoying this so much. Much less from you, the person he swore was his enemy. But with every gentle caress of your fingers, he was starting to question his perception of you. 

You pull away just enough to be able to see his wagging tail behind him. “You’re such a good boy, aren’t you?” you coo.

Valko’s ears perk up at your words, and his tail starts moving faster.

“Oh? Did you like that?” you raise an eyebrow as you take his reaction in. “Oh yes you did. You’ve probably never been called that before, have you?” you lean in closer, your hand reaching behind and petting it along its back line. “It’s okay, I’ll be the first.” you chuckle.

He unconsciously nuzzles into you, resting his large and heavy head on your shoulder.

You tilt your head sideways, and press your lips against his fur in a soft and playful kiss.

That seems to finally snap Valko out of it. He abruptly pulls away, and runs back off into the woods, leaves rustling behind him for a moment before quieting down, as if he’d never even made an appearance in the first place.

You stand there frozen, trying to process what just happened. Did you do something wrong?

A small pout makes its way onto your face, a little sad at seeing it leave. It really was adorable and seemed friendly. 

After a beat of silence, you sigh, and recompose yourself, standing up straighter, and going back to waiting for Valko. 

“Where the hell is he?” you huff to yourself, before crossing your arms, and leaning back against a nearby large rock.

Well, to answer your question, he was still in your vicinity. Yet you didn’t know that, of course.

He had sprinted out of your field of view, thoughts running just as fast his legs. And when he felt he was in a spot far away enough from you, near a small stream he recognized, he paused to catch his breath. 

Leaning near the water, he shifted back into human form, and observed his reflection. And despite the water rippling from it trickling down the stream, he could see his expression very clearly.

He was red from the tip of his nose, to the tip of his ears. 

Sighing, he brought a gloved hand to rub at the bottom half of his face, as if that would make the blushing go away. But he gives up, and instead brings his other hand to hide his face entirely. He sighs into them.

That was his first kiss.

The first kiss he’d gotten from someone other than his grandma, or any other family member for that matter. 

He felt silly, because by normal standards, that was hardly a kiss. A kiss on the cheek didn't mean much, and he knew some people kissed without romantic intentions. But Valko saw things differently. This first kiss mattered to him. Even if it wasn't on the lips.

He should be angry or frustrated that you stole his first kiss from him, and yet, he couldn’t stop his wagging tail or his twitching ears. 

“... What the hell is wrong with me?” he mutters, unable to understand himself. 

He shouldn’t be feeling like this. Yeah, sure, maybe you were exactly his type (he didn’t even know he had one until he met you), and maybe he found you hot whenever you’d get all confident and sassy with him, and maybe he liked the way you glared at him, and—

He shakes his head, as if to push his thoughts away. He really shouldn’t be feeling this way about you. Not when he knows you hate him. 

He drops his hands from his face and stares back at himself in the water again. He’s calmed down, the redness on his cheeks having disappeared. 

That’s when he suddenly remembers the way your voice turned soft and sultry when you called him a good boy. 

Heat instantly rushes back to his face at the memory. Frustrated at himself for being so… easy, he drags his hands down his face. 

His phone chimes in his pocket, however, and he takes it out to examine it. 

“If you don’t show up in the next five minutes, I’m calling our agreement off.”

He smiles at the sight of your contact on his phone, unable to stop himself. Until he processes your message.

“Shit, I forgot—” He quickly stands up from his squatting position and puts his device away. Turning around, ready to sprint back in your direction, he freezes, and glances at his reflection one last time. 

Reaching down, he splashes his face with water to try and make his flustered state less obvious, before finally running off to find you. 

He nearly stumbles every time he remembers the curve of your glossy lips as you cooed and muttered praises at him, or how your fingers felt as they caressed his weak spots.

But, he somehow manages to get to you in one piece.

Your eyes widen and you chuckle shortly. “Did you just refer to yourself in third person?”

He ignores your question, and before you know it, your feet are lifted off the ground and his large palms are holding onto your hips as he sets you down on the counter. 

“What are you doing—” you gasp.

“Show me. I wanna see it.” he requests, completely serious.

“Are you crazy?! Why?”

“Because I don’t believe you. I know that you know I love your bush.”

You scoff at him in disbelief. “I’m not showing you anything!”

“Why? ‘Cause you lied?” he tilts his head closer to you.

“No—because now’s not the time.” you stutter a bit, clearly caught red-handed. 

“Haven’t heard that one before.” He raises an eyebrow, his smirk growing. “You’re usually eager—”

You cut him off by putting your hands over his mouth. He laughs into them before swiping his tongue, licking them. You pull away immediately, as if you’d been burned. 

A beat of silence passes as you wipe your wet palm against the fabric of his shirt. He doesn’t seem to mind, he doesn’t even flinch, evidently used to it. 

The two of you stare at each other in silence, your hand remains atop his shoulder where you just wiped it. You watch him as he carefully lowers himself on his knees, eyes remaining glued to you the entire time. His hands move to rest on your knees.

You feel your face burn up and immediately tighten your grip on his shoulder. “Okay fine—it was a prank!” you blurt out. 

He freezes in his movements. “Really?”

You look away, and then back at him momentarily to nod. 

His hands still holding your knees, he closes them and rests his forehead against them while breathing out a sigh of relief. “You scared me for a second there.”

You chuckle at the sight, your hand finding its way to his burgundy locks. “That scary, huh?”

He leans into your hand, tilting his head sideways, and stares up at you as you continue brushing your fingers through his hair. “Yeah, you owe me an apology.”

You start scratching a particular spot you knew he liked. “Alright, alright. I’m sorry.”

He hums at the sensation, closing his eyes and enjoying your caress. His wolf ears pop out suddenly, and you notice his tail swishing behind him. When he opens his eyes again, they hold a different intent. A heavier one. 

“I think you’re gonna have to give me more than an apology actually…” he grins.

You quirk an eyebrow, and before you can speak, he stands back up and lifts you into his arms. Your hands immediately find his firm shoulders for balance. 

His face is flushed now, and his eyes are dim. “... can I?” he pleas softly, waiting for your approval. 

Noticing you leaning down towards him, he lowers you so you’re face to face with him. You press your lips to his tenderly. “... yes, you can.”

His breathing is steady and he seems calm, but his rapidly wagging tail behind him gives him away. 

The two of you remain quiet as he carries you to your room and sets you down on the mattress, already understanding each other without using words.

ᯓ★ family man valko who's the eldest child of the family. so he's always been the one to buy them things and give them lifts. they all come to him for advice, and confide their biggest secrets and problems to him. they also all look up to him and wholeheartedly believe he's the coolest person to ever exist. they all love him to death, more than he'll probably ever know.

ᯓ★ family man valko who was the type to send out the youngest kids (aka the favorites) to the parents and tell them "go tell auntie you wanna eat take out. but don't say I sent you, okay?" and the poor kids, who tried their best to impress and please their favorite cousin, always nodded vigorously while he ruffled their hair, and acted like they'd been sent out on a mission with their life on the line.

ᯓ★ family man valko who gets crazy baby fever watching you play with his baby cousins. the fact that they all love you and welcomed you with open arms was already a good sign. but with you returning their love and affection so easily, as if they were your own, it only melted his heart more. he loved watching you from afar, as you giggled with them, tugging their cheeks, showering their heads and faces with kisses. he could only imagine how you'd be with your guys' future children.

valko rests his face in his hand, covering his growing smile with the heel of his palm. you're lying on the carpet of the room, surrounded by toys and children as they playfully tug at you, bite your hair, your face, your fingers. maybe other people would find it gross, but you didn't mind it. you reciprocated it instead. and valko loved you all the more for it.

one of the older cousins, who's closer in age to him, stands near him, eyeing him skeptically. "you've got it bad." they comment with a scoff.

that seems to snap him out of his trance. "what're you talkin' about?" he feigns ignorance.

"you're looking at her with those "I'm gonna put a baby in you" eyes." they chuckle.

his face flushes, and he frowns. "hey, don't talk about her like that." he throws a pillow at their face.

they dodge it skillfully, being used to it from all the years of playfighting at sleepovers with him. "just telling it how I see it." they shrug before walking off.

valko tries to ignore their remark, but he knows it's true. you'd make him the happiest man in the world by making him a father.

ᯓ★ family man valko who's phone wallpaper used to be a family photo for the longest time. now that he's an adult and has a big boy job at a tech company, he's further away from them, and thus can't see them as often. so he liked seeing them everytime he opened his phone, it reminded him of who he was doing all this for.

ᯓ★ family man valko who has since then changed his phone wallpaper. it's still a family photo he took at one of their dinners. but the main difference―one he deemed very important―was your presence in the photo. you were sat in the midst of all his cousins, and were holding the youngest in your lap, cuddling her like she was a teddy bear with your cheek pressed against the top of her head. if he could, valko already would've put this photo up in a museum. but having it printed and framed in his living room was enough for now.

ᯓ★ family man valko who encourages roughhousing against him with his cousins, but does not play when it comes to you. he knows them, he can take them, and he's used to them. but he worries about you getting overwhelmed. I can only imagine his conversation with them before they met you for the first time.

"no tugging, no pulling, no kicking, no punching―" he looks them all in the eye one by one, with his index finger pointed at them, his tone severe. "―and most important of all, no biting. do I make myself clear?"

they pout, not liking being told off. playfighting was their way of showing excitement. "... fine." they mumble.

but he shakes his head, unsatisfied. "I said, do I make myself clear?" he repeats.

they immediately straighten their postures. "yessir!" they shout in unison.

"good." he nods once, his smile returning to his face, before reaching out and ruffling their hair. "now go get ready, she'll be here any minute."

ᯓ★ family man valko who was shocked by your reaction when you learned of this. upon meeting them for the first time they seemed a little pouty or sad, like they were hiding something. and when you finally asked them what was wrong after valko left the room, and they told you everything, you were a little angry.

"valko! did you tell them not to play with me?" you frown once he comes back.

he freezes in the doorway, staring at you with wide eyes. "... I did. why?"

"well look at what you did to them, they're all sad now." you stand up.

"they'll be fine―" he scoffs with a nervous laugh. "don't fall for their puppy eyes."

you roll your eyes at him before holding both your hands out to the kids. "c'mon guys, let's go play outside and leave your lame cousin here."

their pouty faces morph into bright smiles as they all jump up, grab onto you and follow you out.

valko's left standing in the midst of the living room, baffled. "... they already like her more than me?"

ᯓ★ family man valko who never cusses at family gatherings out of fear of the kids hearing him. not even when it's just the adults and elder cousins. he doesn't want any of them picking up on bad habits.

ᯓ★ family man valko who's feminism stems from the fact that his pack is a matriarchy. with having so many important figures in his life that he looks up to being women, he naturally respects and loves them. was actually kind of shocked when he realized that that wasn't the norm in the world outside of his family, because it just makes sense to him.

ᯓ★ family man valko who eventually realized he had to learn to share you with his family. he couldn't blame them for loving you so much, since he was guilty of the same thing, but it still annoyed him a little every now and then.

"big sis, big sis! do you wanna play just dance with us?" the twins barge into the room where you and valko had run off to to hide from all the noise of the function. his teenage bedroom, to be exact.

your eyes soften, and you open your mouth to reply but he cuts you off.

"maybe later guys, she's busy with me." he folds his arms over his chest.

"whaaat? no fair, you've had her for like―a million hours!" they whine, grabbing at the doorknob, swinging it open and close repeatedly.

you laugh at their gesture and the way he rushes over to make them let go of the door. "yeah, well, she's my girlfriend. and she's tired, let her rest." he huffs.

you stick your head out from behind him to stare down at the pair of children. "actually―I'm not tired." you beam at them. they shout in unison and grab at your hands while jumping up and down.

valko gives you an exasperated side-eye. "why do you hate me?"

you chuckle as they start tugging you back downstairs to the living room, making sure to grab his hand along the way. "quit being dramatic and show me your dance moves, c'mon."

he rolls his eyes, but the second you turn away to face the twins infront of you, a smile breaks out on his face.

ᯓ★ family man valko who used to get teased by his aunties and especially his grandma whenever he'd come home without a plus one during the holidays. they'd hover around him, pinching his cheeks, grabbing and brushing his hair, smoothing out the wrinkles in his clothes while calling him handsome and intelligent and wondering why he still hadn't brought anyone home yet. you can imagine their excitement when they finally met you, and knew from your scent alone that you were perfect for their valko.

ᯓ★ bf!valko who has a ridiculously attractive laugh. you thought it would probably be a little silly, but you were wrong. the first time you heard him really laugh out of true amusement, your entire face got red. not to mention the fact that his fangs and dimples show when he's laughing. also has those smile lines that everyone finds hot.

he freezes, turning to the side to glance at you over his shoulder. "you serious?"

you nod, your frown only deepening as you stare up at him.

he shifts the bags in his left hand and barely manages to hold out his pinky finger to you. "c'mon," he points forward with a gesture of his head.

you chuckle, grabbing onto his pinky finger and walking alongside him.

"happy?" he asks with a scoff, but is unable to hide his grin. once you hum in agreement, his eyes return to the path ahead, his smile widening.

ᯓ★ bf!valko who, just like wolves who pick their partners for life and stick by their decision, saved himself for you. never dated, never kissed, never hooked up, never even flirted. he knew that the one meant for him was out there, and that he'd know it was them the moment he'd meet them. and when you ran into each other the first time? yeah, he knew you were the one. his nose and intuition never failed him afterall.

ᯓ★ bf!valko who acts very suave and confident, which he kinda is, but not all the time. it's kind of a cover-up that became half true somewhere along the way (fake it till you make it). sure he's much cooler now than in his teenage years, but he's still the virgin tech nerd who annotated biology textbooks for fun while having national geographic wildlife documentaries playing in the background.

"how much longer until we get back..." you whine, your arms dangling in front of you as they rest against valko's shoulders.

he readjusts you, tightening his grip on your legs as you melt further against him, threatening to fall off his back. "hey— you don't get to complain when you're being carried." he huffs.

"fine." you roll your eyes. "but you're the one who suggested carrying me around in the first place."

"what was I supposed to do? let you limp the whole way back? how gentlemanly." he chuckles.

feeling his chest vibrate underneath you, and the warmth emanating from him, you can't help but laugh as well. "alright, alright I get it." you press a quick peck to his cheek. "thanks."

ᯓ★ bf!valko who loves lying in bed with you, face smushed between your thighs. unconsciously gnaws and bites at the flesh of your inner thighs like it's a chew toy.

that makes your chuckle turn into a full laugh. you lean into him, cupping his face tenderly before peppering kisses all over his face. "can you blame me? you look cute angry."

"... I'm not cute. I'm a grown man." he huffs, trying his best to stay annoyed, but once your lips press against a particularly sensitive spot near his jaw, he melts against you.

You look up, expecting to be met with your 6’2 hunk of a boyfriend. Maybe in loungewear, with his glasses resting low on his nose, a book in hand. 

Instead, an older woman looked at you with fear, disgust, and confusion all at once.

“Can I help you?” she asks condescendingly.

You stutter, still shocked. 

“If you’re just going to stand there, then get off my property. I won’t hesitate to call the police.” she huffs.

Her property? What the hell was she talking about? 

“Go on then.” she shoos you away, closing the heavy wooden door right in your face.

You remain standing there, baffled, before slowly turning around and looking at the cars in the driveway. Three sleek Mercedes’. And Valko’s jeep was nowhere in sight.

Your hands start trembling as you slowly make your way back to your own car. Shutting the door behind you once you sit in the driver’s seat, you pull out your phone again.

You decide to call his aunt. Surely she’d know where he was. 

You sigh in relief once she picks up, and immediately ask her about Valko’s whereabouts, without even bothering to greet her properly.

She’s quiet on the other side of the line before speaking. “... Who?”

Your mouth falls agape ever so slightly, and your eyebrows knit together in a frown. “Valko. Do you know where he is? I’ve been trying to reach him all morning.”

She’s quiet again, but this time breaks her silence with a chuckle. “Sweetheart, did you hit your head? Who’s Valko?”

The hand holding your phone up to your ear falls in your lap, as tears start to well in your bottom eyelids.

Although you’re not on speaker, you can still faintly hear the sound of her voice. 

“Y/N? Are you still there?” she questions, before laughing again. “I swear if this is another one of your pranks―”

You hang up before she can finish her sentence. 

You stare down at your phone, and click on your camera roll.

There are no photos of him. There are no videos of him. Your album of him is gone. 

Valko is gone.

Lost on what to do, you break down. The tears instantly stream down your face, hot and heavy. Your heartbroken sobs echo through your car. You fold in on yourself, leaning forward until your forehead rests against the steering wheel. The cries that rip out of your throat only get louder as you close your eyes, blinking the tears away.

The next thing you know, you’re in bed again. The sheets cling to your body due to the sweat rolling down your back. It’s humid, and sticky, and you feel as though you’re suffocating. 

You immediately sit up and tear the covers off of you to catch your breath. 

That’s when you realize… Valko. Where is he?

Your gaze drops down to your right. 

There he is. Lying down with an arm propped behind his head, the other resting on his chest.

You nearly pounce on him, grabbing him firmly by the shoulders and shaking him awake. 

“Valko! Come on, wake up, please―” you mutter, your voice raspy and broken as you start tearing up again.

But he doesn’t budge. You pray it’s just him being his usual heavy sleeper self, and continue trying to wake him up. 

Eventually, he starts to stir, eyelashes fluttering open.

You stop your motion and stare down at him with wide eyes, and tear streaks adorning your cheeks.

Once his vision focuses and he takes in your appearance, he immediately sits up.

“What’s goin’ on?” he asks, large hands already moving to cup your face.

But the second you feel his warm touch again, the dam breaks and you sob even more. Your hands move to rest against his own, as you lean into his palms. “I―” you start but choke on your words. 

His golden eyes dart back and forth between yours. “Hey, it’s okay, take your time. Use your words.”

You sniffle repeatedly, catching your breath. He continues wiping your tears away with the pads of his thumbs, remaining silent.

Once you feel more calm, you speak up. “You were gone… you left–you left me.”

Now it’s his turn to frown, but he still says nothing.

“You left. Like you never even existed.” your breath hitches. “I tried calling you but I couldn’t find your contact on my phone—and there was an old rude lady living at your house, and I called auntie to ask about you and she was acting like she didn’t even know you.” you ramble, your words occasionally getting cut off with your sobs and voice cracks.

He lets out the breath he was holding before pulling you in. You immediately bury your face into his chest.

“I’m here, baby.” He whispered against your ear. “You hear my heartbeat? Smell me?” he presses kisses to your head. “I’m right here. Not goin’ anywhere.”

Pressing your ear to the spot right over his heart, you listen to it beat against his ribcage, focusing on the familiar and comforting rhythm. Your crying eventually ceases, and you’re left hiccuping and letting out deep breaths. 

His hands continue caressing up and down your back until he feels you’ve really calmed down.

You’re the first to pull away, and you wipe your tears while staring down at your lap. 

He notices how distant you look and cups your jaw with one hand to make you look up at him. 

“Feelin’ better?” he asks, eyes unusually soft. 

You slowly look up to meet his eyes and shrug.

“It was just a bad dream, ‘kay? I’m not leaving you.” He leans down, nuzzling his nose against yours. “Ever.”

Your eyes flutter shut as you lean up so your foreheads touch, and you breathe him in. You immediately bask in his warm, inviting scent that you swore could wake you up from a coma. “... Promise?”

“I promise.” he whispers against your skin, letting his words sink in.

You look up at him through your wet lashes. He stares down at you in silence, his eyes half-lidded, before slowly and carefully leaning down. You try to meet him halfway and lean into him as well, closing your eyes. 

But instead of pressing his lips against your own, he swipes his tongue against the corner of your left eye, licking your tears away. 

Your eyes snap back open and you stare at him in shock. “Valko.” you reprimand, yet your voice is soft and still exhausted.

He pulls back, and looks as though he’s deep in thought. “Salty.” he finally comments, the corners of his lips tilting into a smirk.

You continue to stare at him with parted lips. “... You’re gross.” you scoff.

But he’s quick to lean in and lick the tears from your other eye. You yelp, moving away and trying to push him off, giggling in the process.

His hands move to grab your waist, pushing you back against the mattress as he climbs on top of you.

You shield your face from him, arms coming up to hide it.

His fingers slip under your shirt to tickle your skin, making your defenses drop. He takes the opportunity to lean in again and lick an annoyingly long stripe up the side of your face, tracing the tear tracks on it. 

Your laughter echoes through the bedroom as your legs start kicking up in all directions. “Valko, enough!”

He continues for a good two minutes before finally stopping. You’re caged between his biceps, staring up at him, while you try to catch your breath. He’s slightly winded too, and some of his hair has fallen on his forehead. 

“... I love you.” he mutters.

Your heart squeezes painfully, and you cup his face with both hands, caressing his jawline. “I love you too.” you respond.

He leans down, lips finally pressing against your own. 

Reminding you that he was real, present, and that nothing would ever change that.
