Trying your best to be something that you are not is stupid, even if it was trying to be cool, i didn’t notice this only in jogja and i am not telling this to you personally, but i am talking about this atmosphere of people pretending and trying their best to showoff themselves i felt it strongly in jogja more than any other place, which made me really uncomfortable. Jogja is an amazing place, but people there made me sick, not everyone but many of them. what about being real, instead of cool ?
but what if that’s the way people find about their true self? they tried their best in something new for themselves to find out if they’re comfortable with it? and yes maybe you can tell their vibes is kinda off because maybe it didn’t suit them but they still try it and later makes some decisions i believe, once they don’t fit, there’s something else to try and it keeps going until they stop and understand. if you feel uncomfortbale with it then you can leave them alone. There’s a lot of amazing places with their own people and they still searching for their real or true selves, it is not easy to realize who we are. Good for you if you already being you.
