The first chapter will be posted on Friday but, in the meantime, I will drop a few teasers on here. Maybe someone wants to guess what this special little nugget is going to be? I, for one, am super excited.

Y'all. After very nearly a decade... I am going to post a Naruto fanfic. Because the world is in a bad place and apparently that means my brain defaults to my teenage obsessions when it comes to escapism.

Now, if anyone dares to guess the pairing based on the tags and the playlist... I am all ears. But I, for one, never thought I would end up here.

“Does the council agree,” he says, into the tense silence that has taken hold in the wake of Naruto’s impotent fury, “That the most suitable groom to a princess would be a kage?”

Frozen

This plays a year after Family (Untamed Fest Day 13) and four years before Together (Untamed Fest Day28)

Jiang Cheng is preparing food for them, when Lan Xichen and Lan Jingyi come home from their shopping tour.

Lan Jingyi barely lets Lan Xichen tug off his shoes, before he runs into the kitchen, the little stuffed bunny clutched in one hand and Lan Xichen hears him crash into Jiang Cheng. He follows after Lan Jingyi and finds Jiang Cheng at the counter, one hand cupped around Lan Jingyi’s head and a very fond look on his face.

“We’re back,” Lan Xichen unnecessarily says, just to get Jiang Cheng to roll his eyes before he leans over Lan Jingyi to give Jiang Cheng a quick kiss.

“Gross, baba,” Lan Jingyi complains, because of course he picked that one up from Wei Wuxian no problem at all, and then throws his hand up, to show Jiang Cheng the stuffed animal. “Look, dad, a bunny!” he calls out and Lan Xichen’s gut lurches.

He sees Jiang Cheng freeze completely, before he gently pushes Lan Jingyi away, moves the pot away from the hot plate and then he leaves without looking at Lan Jingyi or Lan Xichen. Lan Xichen can hear him shut the door to their bedroom.
