It was like having a bad flash back seeing her here, feet propped up like it was any other day. But it wasnât. Dropping the ax and kicking it back over by the door, and away from either one of them, Keegan dropped down across from her on the coffee table. âSorry yer favorite wolf canât be here anymore.â He snarled, without meaning too. It was still a sore spot. And no secret that their relationship dynamic wasnât as easy going as others were. Still a few moments later the curl of his lip eased away, leaving a more human looking face. âOnly time you ever came to see me meant trouble for me. So whatâd I do this time.â
"I came all this way for hugs and cuddles and I'm met with nothing but paranoia and suspicion. Great." Dylan huffed, narrowing her eyes at the wolf. Her words were only half sarcastic. She had spent days in her car to get to him, and for Dylan, a single person road trip was a sick type of lonely torture.Â
"Don't forget, Keegan, I'm not the one who left, so how about you stop interrogating me? It took me way too long to get over you going away and even longer to suck it up and find you.â There was an edge to her voice that even she noticed, her emotions always finding a way into her tone. âSo can we skip the big bad wolf act for two fucking seconds?â
