Imagine if you would, being in the early days before this area was discovered and that you were a young man out looking for food in a canoe. All of a sudden this “fin” that is about 18 feet long comes out of the water right next to your canoe! I am thinking one would come to full attention! As we were leaving five finger lighthouse island there was a group of seadoos speeding by. As it turns out there is a company that will take you on a fast track run that covers maybe thirty miles on these machines. Kind of like motorcycle rides through the hill country! They were carrying a lot of canisters of fuel. It’s hard to find fuel stations out here so you better bring your own. I am usually an early riser. This particular morning as I walked out on the bow this is what I was met with! Just almost a glass like surface of the water with a little low surface fog. As the day progressed the currents picked up and the fog followed the currents. It was one of the most peaceful mornings that I had experienced in many moons! You just have to love Mother Nature as she is the best! It sure started the day off right! We had just gotten back on the boat from an excursion to see a beautiful waterfall. This spot was to be our safe haven for the night. Now when you are surrounded by this beautiful sunset in a small lagoon where the only noise you hear is that of Mother Nature and with an adult beverage in hand, it seems that life cannot get much better. I have always been drawn to landscape with a far look. Especially with mountains in the background! Now this one is filled with a beautiful background, water which appears to be solid I. This is the kind of power that can push a 50 ton mass out of the water high into the air! While this is impressive if you will notice the barnacles on the edge of this powerful tail. Can you imagine the pressure put on these tag alongs in the activities of the day. I am sure someone is studying the strength of the glue the barnacle used to stay on that whale tail! It was getting late in the day and things were calming down. Eyeballs were tired from trying not to miss what sights might be revealed to us. The thing about whales is their exhalation can be heard for long ways. Well by the time you have located where the noise was coming from you missed the photo. But then I was able to get on this one. That plume of water and mist is taller than this whale was long. Can you imagine the volume and strength of those lungs to push a column of water, air and mist this high! It was a great ending to a jam packed day of visual gifts. Have mercy what a world we have! If you like what I post please share.
