Deltarune is updating soon, let's talk about Colorful Company for a bit (more like reminisce lol).
Time to rewind for context: back when Chapter 2 dropped, I was one of the many people that liked Spamton (and if you followed my art blog back then, you saw how much).
Anyway, I also really liked the addisons, these simple NPCs that represent ads. Because of their possible association with Spamton (due to some of their text lines), me and many others just started headcanoning the fuck outta them. In my case, I made them a family, with the ones we see in-game (blue, yellow, pink, orange) being siblings with Spamton <- he was the baby brother of the five.
Of course, due to my selfshipper indulging nature, certain lady popped up around this time as well. As well an ask blog for my version of the addisons.
This lady, Cee A'Ria, is a major reason why Colorful Company is what it is today. By the way, Colorful Company was the name of the blog at first (I think I was very smart with the name teehe).
She was one of the first characters in the ask blog, an addisona (like a sona but as an addison lol) and surprisingly, she was liked by people. That sounds like a big audience liked her, but no, the blog had a tiny following but active enough for me to work (an ask blog with no active participants is a dead blog).
Long story short, I made up so much info and headcanons for my addison content, I reached a conclusion: "at this point, this is barely related to Deltarune". Thus, a separation took place (? this makes it sound like me and the game got a divorce).
Alas this meant that the addison askblog was no longer that. I went on hiatus, and time later and with a heavy heart, I deleted it. The good memories remain, however.
To this day, I'm still reworking Colorful Company with rough strokes. My absurd perfectionism is a big reason as to why I'm so silent about original projects like this. But my eagerness to share is what drives me forward, and I want to start sharing what I have of them at some point.
To the person that inspired me to make the askblog, and to the people that supported me and Colorful Company along the way: thank you. It's your interest that feeds my eagerness to tell more.
I miss Colorful Company. And I hope that, when I finally stop hoarding drafts and wips, this cast & this world become a friend to you :]
