DDLSCP - A DDLC/SCP AU
We know what it would look like for the Foundation to contain the Dokis. We’ve seen multiple equivalent scenarios play out in the articles. But what if they worked for it instead? What would they specialize in, how would they comport themselves, and which GOIs would they inevitably defect to thanks to the Foundation’s murky sense of ethics? Could they kill 682?
Let’s get into it.
Setting:
The Dokis are stationed on the Great Lakes, at Site-43. This is one of the better facilities to be holed up at, certainly. It’s infamous within the Foundation for its close knit atmosphere, unconventional approach to regulations, and progressivism. It also has a pride flag as part of the site’s insignia, something that has been protected against administrative censorship through memetic processes.
The site has three main focuses: archival and historical research, acromantic abatement (disposing of paranormal waste) and keeping an eye on the local cryptids/nature spirits. A lot goes into all of these, and the place is decently large, with a thousand full time employees, many of whom live on location. As such a concentration of specialization, it also takes on many other tasks, and its research focuses have made it a center of the Foundation’s occult academia. The only better posting for our literature club would not be joining the Foundation at all.
The Players
Dr. Monika Renard - Monika is French Canadian and has lived most of her life within a few hours of Site-43. A high performing student, soon after she graduated with her psychology degree the Foundation approached her to extend her education – and usefulness – with them.
The pitch sounded good. Monika had always wanted to be part of something larger. To make a difference. And here it was: the organization that had been working behind the scenes to make the world make sense, to preserve the peace of mind society relied on. How could she say no to that?
She was young, and foolish. She hopes you can forgive a choice like that. The flaws in the premise were obvious in retrospect, but the recruiters know nothing if not the glitz of ultimate purpose.
Anyway, she was quickly inducted into the Foundation, got a second degree in memetics, and wound up studying Vikander-Kneed’s oeuvre under the supervision of Dr. Lillihammer (T-girl icon and full time A-hole). She was good at it. She got promoted. She kept the ship afloat.
As the pataphysics department began collaborating more and more often with 43’s staff, she occasionally got roped into their projects, weighing in on metafictional memetics or semantic feedback across narrative layers. She was given the barebones briefings she needed to make sense of the data. People talked and she could connect dots, and she came to realize in the abstract that her world was in some degree fictional.
But then there was a containment breach, or something in an experiment went wrong, and she saw right through the veil. She read this post. She learned that she and her closest friends had their histories superimposed into the Foundation as part of an AU. She gained memories of DDLC. Ever since that day, she’s been trying to keep the things she’s not supposed to know under wraps, lest she be identified as a security risk or declared an SCP.
Monika still likes the thought of order in the world, of a way to look out for everyone, even in the ways they don’t realize. But she stopped feeling a long time ago that the Foundation was the best manifestation of that. Lately, she’s played with the idea of the Mekhanite religion, which promises truly transcendent, superuniversal structure beyond even the tyranny of metafiction to deny her meaning. She doesn’t know. Maybe she just craves being part of a machine.
Dr. Sayori Shippeitaro - Sayori is Japanese Canadian and a Toronto native, also not far from Site-43. She has a psychology background as well, though not academically. She used to serve as a prison counselor before the Foundation offered her a job.
The Foundation made a sort of automatic sense to Sayori. Of course it was somebody’s responsibility to bottle up all the bad stuff so that everyone else could be happy. And if they were protecting the world from demons and extradimensional threats, then they would need someone like her to help them feel better. It helped too that they could give her the chance to disappear from her old attachments and amnesticize her worst days.
Actually arriving at work, she was disturbed to learn that a large percentage of things contained by the Foundation were people. They made it clear it was too late for her to back out though, so she made the best of it, providing her services to both employees and anomalies as part of the Psychology and Parapsychology Section.
Though she’s bonded strongly with many people around the Site, Sayori has grown increasingly resentful of the Foundation as an institution. Her work as a counselor constantly exposes her to the worst of both being at the receiving end and working for the organization. The stories she hears from people transferred from other Sites are often even worse, and the whole thing drives her to conclude that the Foundation cannot be the answer.
Sayori has been contacted by the Serpent’s Hand several times at this point. She passes them the information she’s privileged to know as a therapist, and reads up on their message. Her idealized dream is to form a large enough cell within the Site for it to outright secede, but she knows that the Fire Suppression Dept. and Red Right Hand would make that difficult.
She’s noticed Monika acts weird around her lately. She may suspect Sayori’s affiliations, but Sayori thinks there’s something more to it as well.
Dr. Yuri Miyamoto - Yuri hails from the disputed Kuril islands, and is a quarter Russian combined with three quarters Japanese. The archipelago is a dismal, underdeveloped place, and she got out of there as quickly as possible.
Yuri isn’t entirely sure how she joined the Foundation in the first place. Her purple eyes – an indicator of ontokinetic powers – and Akiva readings caused her to be a contained person of interest for some time, an era present though hazy in her memory. There was a transition, at some point, to working for the Foundation, but she cannot remember. Her supervisors have told her that if she doesn’t know, she’s probably not supposed to.
This is frustrating.
Yuri works in the Applied Occultism Section at 43. This is a practical department, and one she is well regarded in. She’s quite good at memorizing multiple conflicting magic systems, and even better at inferring how they can integrate into one another to produce novel effects. Her immediate EVE manipulation capacity makes her a good caster, but that’s not the focus of her work. She’s a ritual specialist.
Theology and Teleology also consults with her often, and she’s all too happy to help. Indeed, sometimes she thinks she has inklings of even more consultations than she properly remembers, in projects that don’t technically exist. Sometimes she dreams about being strapped to the table in a Tactical Theology laboratory, blood and tissue scraped out for study, occult sigils tested on her flesh, raw Akiva channeled into her third eye—
But then again, wouldn’t that testing have covered her in scars? Perhaps she simply has an overactive mind.
The Nalka religion – Sarkicism, as it has been coined by outsiders – has intrigued her for a long time. She likes it for its humanist ideals, its emphasis on both autonomy and collaboration, fleshcrafting’s affirmation of bodily ownership, and its promise to reject whatever gods impose themselves on us. She has access to plenty of their liturgy through her department. And if she says she’s studying them for their carnomancy insights; well, that’s not entirely false.
If she gets good enough at it, maybe she can find whatever trackers the Foundation has implanted in her body and have a chance to leave this wretched place.
Dr. Natsuki Oni - Natsuki is Japanese, and she used to be a specialist in disposing of nuclear waste from that country’s reactors. She was approached in a recruitment drive for the Foundation’s Japanese Branch, although she didn’t join with full information. She was initially given the impression that they were affiliated with the Japanese government (it’s complicated, but they ultimately aren’t) and that their primary focus was on handling inanimate materials. When these didn’t bear out, she was pretty peeved, but she figured she was already doing good work where she was stationed, and somebody had to do this job.
When she got good enough at it, the English Speaking Foundation Branch poached her to work at 43, the hub of acromantic abatement. Her prior Site had no humanoid containment, and learning that this was a central part of Foundation operations was shocking to her. Expressing her concerns on transfer earned her what was essentially three weeks of reeducation in SCP propaganda. She kept her mouth shut after that, at least for now.
She works on research and implementation, figuring out what stuff is and how to break it down. In addition to her qualifications before joining the Foundation, she’s earned multiple internal degrees in Acromantic Abatement, Alchemy, and Physics.
People often assume her to be a containment specialist (engineers, technicians, even janitors) when she goes about her duties. She takes two fold issues with that. First of all, she’s not. Her rank and primary function align her more closely with senior research staff. But secondly, she takes major furor with the Foundation’s institutional disregard for ConSpec positions, given that they are also highly trained, highly difficult, and crucially important for the organization’s structure. It sickens her that the research personnel and MTF operatives have multiple channels to determine their own operations while technicians don’t even get a union.
Focusing on the disintegrating sludge end of the Foundation’s policies makes it easier for many people to ignore abuses, but Natsuki really can’t. Both because of her natural empathy and her own experiences in hostile living situations, she can’t tolerate seeing things like teenagers forced to live in concrete boxes because of something like physical abnormalities or uncontrollable behaviors. If that makes her snappy, she’d prefer that over burying her conscience to return to the blissful ignorance of her Japanese posting.
Natsuki knows that something is up with Monika, and that Sayori suspects something is up with Monika. She can also tell that something weird is happening to Yuri, and that she’s no fan of the Foundation. Personally, she’s been studying everything she can about the veiled world at her clearance level, and is considering trying to reach out to Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Occult and Supernatural Taskforce for some kind of extradition, getting as many humanoid anomalies as she can out in the process.
Sgt. Mabel C*****- D-0922 was an accused felon of Brazilian origin, recruited as Foundation D-class testing personnel on 00-00-0000. They were terminated on 00-00-0000, as part of CK-class reality shift involving multiple staff members.
Unclassed Anomalous Item [redacted] is a humanoid entity that appeared within Site-43 on 00-00-0000, in the wake of a CK-class reality shift. They describe memories of having been D-class personnel on Site, and if found to have no further anomalous effects, may return to this posting. An investigation has been opened into Drs. Renard, Miyamoto, and Oni for suspected involvement with
Mabel C****** is a Brazilian immigrant to the United States. Soon after high school, she was scooped up as a PENTAGRAM (the US military's occult wing) grunt through a memetic recruitment campaign and sent to shoot monsters. After a while, she was effectively sold to the Foundation as part of a deal between the English Speaking Branch and the US government (this is somewhat common. One way or another, most of the Foundation’s paramilitary is former US, Chinese, or Russian military, or from a country with mandatory military service. This pipeline is sometimes organized directly).
The SCP Foundation isn’t too concerned about her loyalty, having subjected her to standard geas compulsions as part of the trade. She found the Foundation to be far weirder than even Pentagram had been, and much more dangerous.
All of this control and danger made her desire more autonomy, which is how she did the self reflection needed to figure out she was a girl. Being able to touch a rock that performs sex change surgeries instantly was one of the few perks of her new employment.
Now she serves as onsite security, safeguarding against containment breaches and hostile incursions. Almost everything going on in the Site goes over her head, is above her clearance, or both, which makes her constantly confused and afraid. She does her best to just focus on her job, but it’s a boring one when it’s not terrifying.
She’s gotten close with all of the other Dokis, especially Sayori and Natsuki. They help make her feel like a human being when her institutional environment encourages to act as though she’s disposable. Dr. Lillihammer shows some kind of fascination with Mabel too, though not in a way that makes her feel particularly good.
She has no idea about anybody’s secrets, but she’s good at reading emotions, and she can tell that something is bothering her friends. But then, that’s just being part of the Foundation, isn’t it?

Ticci Toby ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
(tw. dark themes. ❤︎)
toby is a dog in the sense of being a mutt, not a puppy. at least in the way i write him. there is a huge difference between a mutt and a puppy boy. a puppy boy is very obedient, ready and willing, loyal and precious. a mutt is obedient when it suits him. unashamed to be filthy & disgusting. untamed & wild. the kind you pet & praise while he is covered in blood after he gores a large deer. used to sleeping outside & ready to take a beating, but fully capable of turning on you at any second & tearing your jugular out of your throat. all too familiar with biting. why else would he be muzzled ? his dreams are sick & disturbed, thoughts of his face buried deep inside his lovers freshly exposed abdomen. its visceral enough to wake him, overcome with nausea and tremors from both guilt and excitement. he will confess it to her, telling her that in the event of her untimely death, that would be the only way he could live with himself after the fact, in the same way a dog devours its owner. a final act of true devotion in a way that he understands. ❤︎
the finale is so well written eric kripke i hope u know when the masses were bashing u on twitter for calling it promoslop i was blocking those people one by one 🤞🤞
