long answer: they know what face to make to receive praise (ie. puppy dog eyes) the face they make when they're in trouble or the guilty look you see in all those "dog shaming" posts is just dogs looking cute on purpose because they know it makes us give them praise. guilt is not an emotion dogs can feel. All dogs ever want from us is love and if thats not enough reason to give it to them just get outta my face
