              ‘ thank you mother. ‘ eloise gave her mother a light smile. ‘ you know when winter is over, you should come visit her. her name is jocelyn. ‘ she said looking at her mother with a soft expression. ‘ i would bring her but the underworld is no place for a three years old. ‘

The queen glares at her surroundings, like lightning strike, the blow of the meaning dead hits her and she stumbles not only with her own body to keep walking but with her tongue to move and let words be pronounced. “Penance” Yes, paid with your life the sins committed, Yes, pay and forget. “I am dead?.” she didn’t want to ask, but did it anyway, afraid of the answer but also expecting it. Will it be a pleasurable answer? She doesn’t know 

         A casualty of the war. Persephone knew about the war happening in the mortal world. The sudden influx of dead people explains otherwise. But she was surprised to see the Amazonian queen.

You don’t know what it is when you actually need to work to get your reputation,” he continued. This time his voice was darker and lower. Angrier. 

Hermes lifted his eyebrows and shook his head while he was laughing. “I don’t want power,” he said while he was still laughing. It wasn’t joyful laugh, it was cold laugh. The fact was that how she could have knew that? His earlier speech had probably give the idea that power was what he desired but it wasn’t the truth. He desired revenge. “No… I want the Olympians feel what I have felt for centuries. I want them to feel outsiders. I want then to feel like they don’t belong to anywhere,” he said and kept a small pause, slightly tilting his head. “You don’t see it? Are you that blind? It doesn’t matter what will happen, I have already won. I have already won, Persephone. I have already won. Zeus can kill me, throw me to Tartarus or do whatever he is going to do but it doesn’t change the fact that they have lost the fight. They lost it before it even started.”

Look pretty? Sit in a throne and look pretty? Is that how Hermes sees her? A pathetic welp that gets what she was because she is beautiful? I want the Olympians to feel what I have felt for centuries. I want them to feel outsiders. I want then to feel like they don’t belong to anywhere. You mean how she felt all those years in her mother’s sanctuary? And when she goes to Olympus with her mother? That feeling where everyone thinks of you as little Kore, Demeter’s precious girl. The girl that can’t do any harm. That feeling where people thinks so lowly of you?

“You’re mad,” she whimpered, tears in her eyes as she backed away from the man who once was her friend. “What good will it do to you? To see them lost their home? Do you think they’ll learn their lesson? Do you think they can’t remake their glory? They’re Olympians, Hermes. You can destroy Olympus but mortal temples are where their home is. The sacrifices and praises the mortal gives them, wherever that is that’s where they’ll belong. Because in those temples they don’t feel ordinary. They are still gods. You won but not quite. It’s temporary. Its a temporary success that’ll give you permanent punishments!” Why does she even care about what they’ll do to him. She hurt him. She hurt him and she should not care for a traitor like him.
