Summary:
Grief envelops him and haunts the halls of Malfoy Manor. Left alone after the death of his parents, Draco is a wreck; the hallucinations had started shortly after the war, right before Lucius had been taken in by the Ministry. At first they were manageable, they were little things, like the sound of people crying, or the bodies of his loved ones in the corners of his eyes. Things he could ignore. Things he could learn to ignore. But after Narcissa passed, the grief caused something in him to snap, the last bits of his sanity leaving him. He began to see her body all over the manor, twisted and defiled, bloody and bruised, he saw his father being killed by Voldemort, he saw the bodies of the people they had tortured, all the victims the Death Eaters had hunted down. In a fit of rage, Draco snaps, digging the end of his wand into his eyes. If he cannot see, then can no longer fear that which haunts him.
In which Draco Malfoy blinds himself after being haunted by visions, and Harry Potter helps him return to a new sort of normalcy. Simple Auror duties really, it's not because he feels what Draco feels, definitely not because he's considered hurting himself the same way to feel something, anything really.
