take two and... action

it is strange to watch you slowly drift. it is not that you don’t love me, but that you have forgotten why you do, it seems-- forgotten how to be in love with me. and while you say you love me and i do not doubt it, a slow wedge is driven in between us as i tried to pull at the pieces when you are slowly plucking the strings tethering us one by one, not even realising you do it.

my doodles are no longer on your wall, the little penguin i got you left at your parents house, physical reminders of me are vacant. 

you tell me not to over think, to believe you. and i do believe you and i try not to overthink. but i miss when you used to say things in the context of forever and not in the vague context of ‘if’-- if we ever live together, if we move together, if we’re still together next year, if if if...
