“I-I see…” She didn’t really get it, but she felt like there was a lot he was withholding from her. Likely for personal reasons. Still, she couldn’t help but feel somewhat intimidated, taking a step back unconsciously. Aika was still unsure what to think; on one hand, he had some very valid reasons for not appreciating it. And if he was still operating, he likely had the legal right to do so… right? “I, um… I’m… sorry…” Her voice, normally clear and energetic, had slithered to a quiet, withdrawn mutter.

... Silence. He paused at her stepping back. She was innocent. Naive, but innocent. He felt a little guilty for intimidating her, but she was old enough to- His train of thought was torn away as a little voice cheered from behind Aika.       “Papa!”

      “Ah! Kiyomi..!”       “... ... Papa. Did you scare her?”       “Ahaha. I might have. Sorry miss. It’s just, a little intense    lately. I must’ve scared you pretty badly. Ah... My shop    should be empty of villains right now if you want to stop    for a drink. Free of charge, as an apology I’ll fix whatever    drink or treat you want.”

The rules certainly made sense, but the warrant thing seemed almost… illegal. “Even if it’s a police officer or government worker? Because I’m… pretty sure that’s against the law to obstruct arrest if they have the legal right to do so…” She was starting to get concerned, now. He said he was a hero but… maybe that was just his front? The more she learned, the shadier this guy seemed…

Shady. That’s how plenty saw him if they didn’t know the old him.       “I’m gonna be blunt with you, because I think you can    handle it. I’ve had people come in to arrest my dead wife    with a warrant. I've got my reasons for not allowing    warrants in my building.” Truth is, he had legal permissions for the way he ran his business, but again, he had no reason to tell her that. Besides, his personal one’s revolved around the trauma he endured with the police busting down his door demanding for his wife. His wife never did anything wrong, she died a hero, saving a young boy’s life. And they were here to arrest her? She was dead! The incident ended up scaring Kiyomi of cops and of swinging batons.       “You’re allowed to think what you want of me, but I’d prefer    you not spread rumors about my business. Even if you think    you know the facts. Damaging my business means ruining my    little girl’s future.”       And I won’t be happy if that happens...

It’s hard to notice sometimes.”He turned his attention away from Momoand back to Kiyomi who was bouncingaround and playing, as kids do of course.      “Are you here to talk? Or to watch   Kiyomi with me?”

Masahiro looks down at his kid and grins.Luckily she gets the message too.

If you   aren’t legal to drink I have to only serve you   non-alcoholic drinks and keep an eye on you   while you’re in here. And for your information,   I’m the owner of this place.”
