A lonesome mood befalls a coffee shop at this hour. Those that have already faltered, discarded about the chairs like old rags, are watched over by the experienced few: the old grizzle-faced wanderers that suck their lives away at the lids of their coffee cups, land-locked by yet another scholarly assignment. Soon the morning crowd will arrive with their determined strides and purposeful orders. These stranded campus nomads will glare with disdain from their hollowed-out eye-holes gleaming in the glow of blank white pages, wishing the morning to rollback again to this meandering night of yawns and haunting indie music replaying endlessly upon lost ears.

I love my buckling spring keyboard. Nothing is more satisfying than hearing each letter clack into each word, the symphony it creates for every sentence, as if it were a master sculptor setting my prose into the face of a rock.
