I've been trying to catch up with the times by watching the mainstream (and not-so) movies in the past 2 years that I haven't taken a look at yet; just something to occupy the glaringly hot afternoons this summer break.
Today I watched Sucker Punch (2011), an action/fantasy film directed by Zack Snyder. I liked the start of the movie, it was rather gripping and kept me interested... for about ten minutes or so. Then it started going downhill. I got the feeling that I was watching a musical throughout (with all the music used; some I actually recognized) but, of course, without the characters making fools of themselves. The movie visuals were good, some scenes were eye-candy while the others not so much. The action scenes were too dragged out. Some story elements which could have been utilized, I thought, were thrown out the window. The plot was too lacking and by the end of the movie I wasn't that impressed anymore.
I found Rocket charming, though.
