I love that I have little eye crinkles from laughing and smiling so much in my 47 years. Life has really done its best to kick me in the tits over and over again, and I’m still a happy person at my core. That feels like a win.

I’m going to a cabin tomorrow for the long weekend, but I get there before my friend and that feels like the start of a lot of murdery movies I’ve watched, so crossing fingers she shows up before I am doomed.

I have negative counter space but am fantasizing about a nice espresso machine. I’m consoling myself with the reminder that if I didn’t occasionally go out for a fancy coffee, I’d never leave the fucking house and interact with other adults. So there is that

L started antibiotics yesterday for possible Lyme exposure, and this morning he took them on an empty stomach before I got downstairs, and you can guess how that went.

My fucks-to-give tank is quite low, so I’m not only skipping a meeting right now, I straight up deleted it from my calendar to avoid the inevitable teams chat notifications for the next hour 🙌🏻

My son gave me a Mother’s Day gift he made at school, and I won’t post it here but it’s basically a testament to how safe and loved I make him feel, and how I always make time to hang out with him, and yes, it definitely made me cry.

I am so sorry if we have ever interacted, and I vanished without warning. My brain is a sieve lately, which is absolutely out of the ordinary and quite surprising and also super annoying. I have been busy with boring stuff but also slowly making plans for when my son is gone for 7 weeks this summer. I can’t fathom that kind of time apart but know it will be ok and good for him to get time with his dad, and good for me to get a break. So far my plan is to spend a week floating in the ocean and another week somewhere else, hopefully visiting friends, and the rest of my time de-kidding the common areas of my home and making them more habitable in general. Dream big, obviously!

Having a kid has me contemplating serious questions like whether or not Jordan Peele has seen The Amazing World of Gumball and if he has, whether episode 5.11 at all influenced elements of Us either intentionally or not and if he hasn’t seen it, what a funny little coincidence and oh god this is my life now
