Takeo and Tao (especially Takeo) saw death as a valid option(episode 151, 237). They even said "can’t we just die already?"

So after being brought back to life by Rai... watching them feel ashamed and guilty, and then immediately asking Frankenstein to make them stronger was really painful.

Not that I can't understand why the author made that choice, but imo Takeo became meaningless character after being incorporated into the growth(purely physical) narrative.
