Prologue part 6
You and your old friend glanced at each other, seemingly thinking the same thing "Maybe you were right about someone eventually coming to cause chaos on the island (y/n), it's kinda your fault that people being so adamant on making there lives hell."
The dragon gave you an evil glare.
Bowl cut continued "If anyone was going to harm the island, it would probably be someone part of the world government who wants anything to do with the god valley incident swept under the rug."
Rolling your eyes, you groaned "No one listens to me, they all think I'm crazy" If his theory is correct, you have yet again caused yourself more unnecessary trouble by trying to help out plus it's not something you wanna own up to.
Keeping his monotone voice and expressionless face he replied "They do listen, that's why they dislike you so much, you should have learned by now to keep your predictions to yourself"
You put your arms up before throwing them back down "Wow" There isn't even something you could say back because that is also probably true.
With the confidence of someone backed by an army, Doffy declared "That's fine, they should fear me because I'm going to cause as much damage to the island as possible and retake everything that was taken from me-eh."
Doffy had the awful ability to shut up every one around him by saying that worst thing possible at the moment, even his brother looked horrified. He's got all of the nastiness of the nobles but non of the money, worst of both worlds.
Food faces eye twitched "......if I didn't think you were a dragon before I would definitely know it now and (y/n) I'm confused, how did you get roped in with these two?"
"It's a long story, but they broke into my house"
Vergo turned to you looking quite perplexed "Why...what? How do you get into so much bother? Especially with your powers, I've never had any of these problems"
Blankly, you gaze at him the the bamboo stick that you've seen him batter people twice his age with then back at him "That's because you are a problem, and when someone comes to wreak havoc, WHICH IT WIL, I'll be the first to get out of this hell hole because it'll only get worse from there and it's already an awful place. When there's a glimmer of anything resembling red lightning I'll be off. I need to get to water 7 anyway."
"No you're coming back to the holy land with me."
As you heard that, your face became as white as a sheet, you pointed at yourself holding on to hope that he ment literally anyone else.
"You've helped us quite a bit you're feral but it's nothing that can't be fixed. Think of it as a thank you."
A warmth grow in Rosy's chest "that could be so much fun!" Lots of scenes of what three of them could do if they all went back.
Biting your lip, you thought of ways to get out of this, the way the described it may sound nice but there's a massive chance you'll never be free again.
He steps forward "Your mother was kidnapped right? We could look around for her, if shes not there I'll definitely have the resources to find her."
You don't even get to answer before Vergo inserted himself in the conversation "How come you haven't gone back yet? No offence, but it's not like you've had much luck here"
It's so odd to see Vergo act so mature he never used to act like this, he's always been serious but not like this. Killing and hurting so many people must make you grow up faster. You knew death but watching someone completely kill their old self is something else entirely.
He glared a the boy with the bowl cut, then stared at the floor "They decided that we weren't worth saying, we're apparently too human now-eh." Rosy held onto his brother's side.
They're even assholes to their own? That checks, still isn't fun to see them suffer. ....Oh, oh no. You're beginning to like the company of BOTH of them.
Trying to find anything to distract you, luckily you saw that the sun was going down "Hey you two it's getting late your parents probably will be getting worried."
Showing his inner celestial dragon Rosy whined "But we never got to see much of both of your magic" your guessing he meant haki.
It was hard seeing him upset especially since you caused it but it's not like we could do much in the dark "You'll see it another day."
Save-a-bit-for-laters eyebrows went up and his face relaxed "So we're gonna do this again?" He must've have missed being around someone his own age, still it was nice seeing him act like his old self even if it was only for a moment.
"Sure, but I'm still angry at you traitor" you whisper as if it's a conspiracy, poking his chest while squeezing your eyes together, not like they held much malice in them anymore.
"Of course you are witch" you may not have been able to see him roll his eyes, however he definitely said it with the attitude of someone rolling their eyes.
The dragon with sunnies wasn't happy waiting round for anyone, especially human beings."Are we gonna go now or are you still blabbering? How is Rosy gonna climb if he can't see? He can't walk when he can see"
Sheepishly, Rosy rubbed the back of his head, a light red starting to appear on his cheeks. So, with that, you three started walking back to the shed they were currently living in.
Of course, Vergo had to end the interaction with a sardonic comment "It was nice actually talking to you for once!" He shouted across the beach.
Laughing at the comment, you continued on your way. It was nice to be somewhat on good terms again. Honestly, you'd missed having him as a friend. Still, you didn't trust him but for now it was a pleasant moment.
Carefully, you put Rosinante on your back, hopefully that would make him less accident prone. At the your side, you felt Doffy's eyes attached to the pair of you, critically analysing everything you do.
After a while of walking, there's a little voice that can be heard from behind your head "He was so cool-eh" A sentence that made your stomach drop.
Scoffing, you reply "Vergo's fun to hang out with but he's not a good person. He's not someone to look up to, trust me"
Rosy frowned "Why?" Thinking back to anything that could have shown Vergo as a bad influence.
"He ditched me for some assholes who do nothing but fight and steal, a true bunch of losers then had the cheek to try and make me join their gang because of my" Mockingly you changed your voice to a deeper tone while air quoting "unique type of Haki Bahehehe"
It wasn't a topic you enjoyed discussing how you lost your one and only friend, you didn't want to lose these two either, not like you would admit it. However, a topic you desperately wanted to talk about was the gangs fuck ass boss who you despised with all 4ft of you.
"I hate that man, his snotty nose that he never cleans up, his oversized body, the way he laughs like he thinks everything is so fucking funny, his hair that looks as droopy as his snot, his stupid glasses that he wears because it apparently makes you look scarier because your enemies can't tell what your thinking through your facial expressions. What are you talking about, we live in the middle of nowhere?
"You sound like Doffy" Rosy responds fed up of listening to people monologue.
Personally, that was the most offensive words he could have spoken to you. Never had you wanted to hit a child so much as you did in that moment. Doffy had the cheek to look offended at the comparison.
Pushing that aside, you extend a pinky to each boy "Promise that you won't join a gang"
It's not like you could imagine Rosy ever imagine joining a gang but if his brother did he would probably follow, Doffy however had a-lot of anger in his heart so he could be easy pickings for indoctrination.
Rosy didn't hesitate before confirming the promise though Doffy just gave you a look before replyingΒ "Do you really think that either of us are stupid enough to become gang members and pinky promises are for babies."
You poked Doffy with your little finger twice before wiggling it at him. Eventually, he complied acting as if it was the single most difficult thing to do on the planet.
Once you got in, their father smiled as you all walked through "How did it go? Did you see any animals?"
You where trying to think of a good explanation for today yet Doffy took it for you "We didn't see any animals but we did learn more about humans"
"(Y/N) IS A SUPER-HUMAN!!" Wow, you didn't know so much noise could come from one little boy.
"Oh? And how's that" Odette giggled, this had been the first time in a while that she had seen her son so happy.
"She's super fast like REALLY fast! Do the thing! Do the thing!" Looking as if he could explode with you at any moment.
Not wishing to disappoint, you make their bed at light speed. Neither of them expected that, you could see that they were thinking of how you could have made it look like you did it but they didn't come up with one.
Little Rosinante was jumping for joy, as if it was the coolest thing in the world "isn't she awesome?" He rapidly shook your arm while looking at his parents.
Odette was gob smacked, while Homing just smiled solemnly βtheyβre always full of surprisesβ still desperately trying to cling onto his hope in humanity.
You were just glad that you didn't have to explain how you introduced their darling children to a local gang-banger.
Just by looking at Rosy, anyone could tell that he was far too hyped up to go to bed, which was especially problematic for his parents. In spite of the odds, the two had still put in the effort to give the boys a consistent sleep schedule.
Odette knew what would calm him down; she pulled out a book. It had been the first time you had seen one in use. Words on a page were as useful as scribbles to you.
There were little opportunities for any type of schooling round here, most children grew up to do what their parents did or some form of manual labour. The heavenly tribute took any funding the island had, education was the last thing on anyone minds.
Her voice is calm, completely out of place in this run down shed."Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, 'and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice 'without pictures or conversation?'β
Snuggled into his mother, Rosinante asked βCan I read next mummy-eh?β
Gritting your teeth, you stand up βSorry but Iβm not used to sleeping when someoneβs talking so Iβm going outside till I feeling a bit more sleepy.β With that youβre off, not really sure if they bought your excuse even though you tried your best to play it off.

Attempting to make a comfortable place to lie down, you move pieces of old metal around from behind your back. Trying to ignore the itching emotion trapped in your chest, you count the stars and think of your dreams.
Little did you know the other boy followed you out.

So much for saving up food, they've demolished it. You were glad you didn't bring the whole lot because you would have ended up with nothing.
Carefully, you gathered seeds from the metal and scattered objects beneath the hut, then hunted some fruit scraps for compost.
At first, this place was just where the current would take anything that washed up, though soon enough it became a metal heap. It's sad to see so much waste; someone with the right talents would probably love all this, but it's just left here to rot.
Little did you know there were two beady eyes following your every move behind his lenses. "Why are you picking them up?"
The voice jolted you from your thoughts, causing your eyebrows to rise. "I had a small garden to plant them in but some animals got to it and now I have to replant most of them."
Odette directed a look of awe in your direction. "You're quite a resourceful human, especially for your age. How did you pick up on that?" It sounded like it was meant to be genuine but ended up becoming off as slightly condescending.
Your nose twitched, but you suppressed it to continue the conversation. "I learned it from my mum."
Homing, who was just finishing up his food, perked up, seemingly in a much better mood. "She sounds like she was a smart woman, and thank you so very much for the food."
That was the first nice thing you had heard someone say about her in ages, which made your eyes light up, but you tried to play it off. "She was, and don't worry about it."
Rosy, who had been listening in, meekly asked an accidental gut punch. "Where is she now, eh?"
The parents looked at each other, silently watching the scene unfold.
That stopped you; you sensed your jaw naturally tensing, then you forced something out that was supposed to sound like a laugh. "You haven't done that in a while."
He started playing with his hands; he gently tapped the brother, who already seemed furious. "Huh?" Doffy replied for him.
"You know how you two used to add an -eh to the end of all your sentences? Now you both hardly do it, especially you."
Slowly, he tilted his head to the side while raising his voice. "What's that got to do with the question?"
"Nothing, I don't feel like answering, so I'll just not answer it." You smiled shortly before returning your face to a neutral expression and turning tail.
A hellish little screech released from his throat. "HEY-" the forehead vein making another appearance.
Before he could say anything, his father put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "It sounds like it's a bit of a touchy subject, so if she doesn't want to talk about it, you can't make her son."
Through a bitten lip, he attempted a calm response. "But she was making fun of the way the fellow gods and, most importantly us, so why are you defending her?!?"
"But we're not gods anymore."
Pushing off his father's hand, the evil glare redirected to the dad. "And whose fault was that! It's so bad that tiny, frail, nasty HUMAN had to rescue us that doesn't respect us."
Part of you is very glad he got jumped, even if you feel slight sympathy for him.
"They've left us to fend for ourselves because of your choices!"
The father stopped. It was awfully silent; the tension could be cut with a knife. Then water started to drip down his face. "I'm so sorry, what have I done?" the mother attempted to speak up but just coughed instead and held him as they both gasped for air.
Doffy's face dropped behind the anger; there looked like there was a sliver of guilt.
This is incredibly awkward; you've managed to start a family argument and you've only been here for five minutes. How long are you going to sit like this for?
Fuck.
Sighing, you push your ego to the side for just a moment. You thought that since you started it, you were going to finish it. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have said that you're all going through enough as it is, and I bet the people round here are probably the reason why you've changed your accent. It was insensitive, and to answer your question, she was kidnapped."
Saying it out loud filled you with a deep sense of dread. You've basically told one of the most insensitive people you have ever met the thing that upsets you the most. Your one small salvation was that he still had his sunglasses on, so you couldn't make eye contact even if you wanted to.
Awkwardly, you walked over with four bracelets. "I made them out of seashells and seaweed. Think of them as an apology gift."
It wasn't made for them, but you are technically the reason that there was an argument. Plus, you had made so many, so sharing some isn't too much trouble.
However, there was a chance that Doffy would throw it on the ground. You clenched your eyes, dredging the reaction.
Gently, something graced your hand, taking one of the handmade objects.
You opened your eyes to see that Doffy was the one who took one. He wiped his hands and the bracelet on his clothes, but he still took it.
"I'll wear it on the condition that you let me call you Dulcinea."
Bastard, how are you supposed to protest now you've only just cleared the air?
"...Fine."
With a satisfied smirk, he tied it round his wrist, then proceeded to take the other bracelets, wipe them, and hand them out to the rest of his family.
"This is the first time that I have seen such humble jewellery-eh" putting an extra emphasis on -eh "I appreciate it very much Dulcinea"
You had already started regretting this decision, but you didn't want to start any needless arguments, so you were just going to let it go.
Finally getting back out of his shell, Rosinante speaks, "How did you make them?"
Considering he's a quick distraction from the deal you had made with the undersized demon, "I made them with things by the beach, had to fight a couple of crabs for some of them. To get there, you just follow the sea for a bit before you come to the rocks."
The child's eyes widened. "Are there other animals there?"
"Yes, there are some small fish, the occasional jellyfish, and some creatures that live in shells. You can find them all between the rocks where the water gets trapped. There's probably some round here too, but it's too dangerous to be rummaging through metal by the sea. You're not going to miss the chance to go to the beach with someone."
Jumping up, you grab Rosy's hands. "Do you want to go animal hunting with me? If you feel a bit better, that is. " Eagerly, you await his answer.
Once he gets over the initial shock of you leaping over, he nods after seeing the faces of his parents' approval.
"What about me????"
Oh. Him. You forgot he was there.
For a wonderful, beautiful, sweet second, you didn't consider that you might have to take both.
".....Would you like to come too?" This time, you weren't exactly leaping at the opportunity for him to come.
By the expression on his face, he seems to take great pleasure in tormenting you. "Yes Dulcinea, yes I would."
Tilting your chin to the heavens, you shut your eyes as any hope of you having a peaceful time went out the window.
Composing yourself, you start walking, "Follow me if you want to come see the sea animals."
Both the boys followed after, carefully trying to suss out what parts of the pile are the most stable.
A strange sight to see from such posh people or sorry 'gods', you knew your way round it since you would occasionally come here to make things, sell things, or find something useful.
Once you got down, you observed as the boys as they traversed the mad-made mountain, ready to catch them at a moment's notice, which was just as well because you had to catch the younger one; otherwise, he would have landed on his head.
He had somehow managed to undo his bandages only to trip over it. You were looking at him, and you still couldn't figure out how he did it. He just looked half mummified by the time you caught him.
It was a miracle he had survived this long. It's as if fate had it out for him.
Once you all hit the earth, you followed the sea sure, the three of you playing eye spy after five minutes of Doffy saying it was a childish game.
Slowly, the patches of rubble descended in numbers, making the sand underneath it becoming more prominent.
It was a relaxing walk until you felt Rosinante latch onto you, as he dinged his fingers into your clothes he pointed forward "there's another human here"
Even Doffy was shaken at the thought of another person which was an odd flip of the usual dynamic celestials had with humans.
What made things worse is you knew him, he was far away but he always did have a distinct look.
The kid had a stupid looking bowl cut, borline sun glasses, an insane amount of strength and a chunk of food attached to his face because you gave him a static shock on his face, he's never been able to get rid of it since.
He trained at the beach a lot, that's where you saw him training and learned Armament Haki. Maybe if you got the boys to see his training they might be able to look after themselves it could make your life a lot easier.
Dragging them into the bushes, you crawled closer keeping a safe distance, signalling the other two to follow "if you wanna see something cool follow me but keep quiet"
Having achieved a position where you could remain concealed while observing, you sat down. Although you weren't watching the person training you, your gaze was fixed on your new companions. They watched in wonder as someone their age effortlessly broke a stone larger than himself.
He may have ditched you but you had to admit that he was talented, shame the he had wasted it all to be hang out with a group of thugs.
Rapidly tapping your side, Doffy produced the loudest whisper possible "How did he do that-eh? I never thought a human being was capable of such power, I've only seen a feat like that from the holy knight-eh."
The holy knights were something you would learn about later but at this moment in time you had no clue what he was on about.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. saving a bit for later stopped, staring into the bushes only to raise an eyebrow. "(Y/n), are you still stalking me?"
Both boys snapped their heads to you; you had the face of someone who had stepped in a hornet's nest.
If you stayed perfectly still and quiet, hopefully he would have to go away eventually, though that plan wasn't working because plate-face was making his way through the bushes.
It didn't take him too long to find you, especially since you had brought people with you. He hovered over the three of you, his eyes wandering from one person to the next.
"I don't know what's weirder: you bringing your friends to watch me or you having any friends to watch me with. Who are these anyway? They seem familiar"
That hurt because he's never said a joke in his life, he wasn't making fun of you; it was a genuine observation. Continuing to ignore him, you studded up and pulled your 'friends' with you.
Sitting directly opposite you he continued "You can watch me train if you stop doing from behind a bush. We were friends, your the one who has a problem not me"
The worst part about your anger was that it was entirely unreciprocated. He backstabbed you but you're not experiencing the pain if you're holding the handle.
Rosy, on the other hand, grinned at the thought of being able to sit and watch him punch a rock, blissfully unaware of your anger.
Amidst the chaos, you forgot that you're the tour guide for an entitled former wealthy child who's slipped away from your hold. "I want to watch, Dulcinea can't you put it behind you?"
"NO! You don't have a say in how I'm feeling and I'm not talking to a traitor!" Stomping your foot you walk away and turn your back on them.
Tutting, he watched your tantrum unfold "When are you gonna to let that go? It wasn't personal" he made a mental note of 'Dulcinea' but didn't think it was the right time to mention it.
Patiently he waited for an answer.
Tightly, you pushed both your lips together while shaking your head and crossing your arms as if you were putting some sort of emotional armour on.
He didn't get one.
Turning his head to the other two, he hoped to at least get a reply out of someone "So are you the celestial dragons?"asked with the same calmness as you would for the time.
Snapping your head, you observed the interaction with one eye. Little Rosinante and Doffy looked terrified as a man-made reflex kicked in to be on their guard when their heritage was brought up.
Gulping Doffy worked up the courage to reply "You come near me or my brother, one day you'll pay."
If push came to shove he could defeat us three effortlessly. However, his one redeeming quality was his restraint; he never acted on his feelings, you weren't sure he had any.
Standing up he spun you round to renter your field of vision "Ill take that as a yes, I heard rumours about them but I never would have guessed that you would be hanging round with them, witch."
It's an attempt to gouge a reaction out of you, you knew that, didn't stop you from falling for it though.
Finally, you opened your mouth, screaming as you throw a handful of dirt "I HATE YOU!" Furiously, making another fist full of dirt to launch more against your better judgement.
Calmly he retrieved his bamboo stick, his weapon of choice, lightly wacking you on the head "I thought you weren't going to talk "
When he retracted it, you rubbed your head while pouting "OW" didn't hurt much but it stopped you in your tracks.
"I'm not gonna beat up you or your new celestial dragon friends, I just don't want you skulking around it's weird, it doesn't help that you're already creepy enough as it is."
Both the brothers released a breath that they didn't know they were holding in, however they still held onto each other on the off chance.
Mildly frustrated at the somewhat hypocrisy you speak up "Whoβs to say you won't? You've already attacked me." He's technically already gone against the rule he's just made.
"Whinge bag, you went for me first it was self defence but seriously stop lurking"
You're willing to compromise but you're not going to forget how he screwed you over "Fine! I'll stay in your line of vision but don't expect me to speak!"
He stared for a moment, processing information before grimacing "You're just gonna sit there and glare at me instead?" He sighs exasperated with the antics "At least it's one step in the right direction."
Uncharacteristically, Doffy had been quietly watching the conversation play out, he learned that he and his family had to make sure their surroundings were safe before speaking, a lesson he planned on making the people of this island pay for teaching him "How come you haven't brought this up with her before?"
"She runs way too quickly, there's no chance that I would catch up, she's almost as fast as I am strong." Little did he know that you hadn't said a word about it and wasn't planning on saying anything till later.
The boys jaws both hit the ground.
"And why haven't you told us this sooner-eh?" Doffy's face scrunched up so much that from far away you could mistake him for a bull dog "Well? Go on I want to see this now"
With starry eyes Rosy looks up at you "Really?" In spite of everything he was having a wonderful day minus the beating he got earlier "Show us! Come on (y/n) please?"
All eyes were now on you, a situation that you've never been too fond of because of times like this. Giving in to pear pressure, you run around the beach from the rocks, to the sea, to the trees, the back where you were in the first place with a whoosh.
By the surprise on the twos face they weren't expecting that, though there's not much you could have said to brace them for it if they haven't seen anything like it.
Clapping like his life depends on it, Rosy lets out a squeak of joy "bravo!"
What kinda six year old says 'bravo'? You can tell he was rich but itβs not like you can hold it against him since heβs so darn cute.
Still recovering from the whiplash, Doffy just stares ββ¦β¦How? I never thought humans could do these things-ehβ
Ready to flex his knowledge on one of his favourite subjects, the mini gangster responded βItβs called Haki and anyone can use it, the right training can help but some people can lean it naturally.β
The cogs turned, βSo I could learn it too?β His expression resembled a smile but lacked the kindness and warmth usually associated with one.
Introducing Doflamingo to Vergo would be one of the worst decisions you would make in your life.
Notes:
Iβm soooo sorry for the late update my life has been so chaotic lately, but I swear no matter what happens this will eventually get an ending. Hope you enjoyed this chapter

IVE JUST LOST A GOOD CHUNCK OF MY CHAPTER WHEN I JUST GOT BACK INTO WRITING AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hiii, Iβve just been wondering if thereβs someone who might know something about what Iβm experiencing.
I donβt really feel qualified to say Iβm physically disabled (though I do have some learning disabilityβs and some mental illnesses).
So Iβm just thinking it could just be a mental hang up?
I mean constantly feel exhausted all the time but not as in sleep like my soul feels active but my body doesnβt . I really struggle telling people what Iβm actually feeling which ends up as me just coming across as me being lazy or trying to make excuses. Itβs gotten to the point where I feel something ajasent to pain because of how much energy I donβt have I know itβs not pain but itβs a similar feeling in my chest if that makes sense. I worried it putting a strain on my relationship because I keep having to send him home. If I have him around for too long I start looking physically ill. I love him very much and heβs really understanding but I donβt want him to think heβs some sort of burden.
And my friends try and convince me to get dressed on my days off but i physically canβt do that or I wonβt be able to do anything else for the rest of the day.
Itβs more than procrastination I know it because Iβm desperately trying to be better
People tend to put it up to me just being clumsy because I keep braking or spraining things but when itβs 3 years in a row thereβs got to be more to it like once I pulled the ligaments in my foot by stepping off a mat of all things. It stopped for a while but now Iβve pulled my ligaments again.
In all honesty they could be two different things entirely.
Though Iβve had a bit of a rest and feel a bit better now so maybe it really is just all in my head
Sorry if itβs just been a word vomet but I would like to maybe have some advice because I would be lying if I said it didnβt affect me.

Oh come on
From the sound of the screams, it was definitely the brothers.
Idiots!
They were supposed to get out of here, now there just getting there arses kicked; you didn't care if Doffy got beat up, the way he kept talking he was bound to get his ass kicked by SOMEONE but Rosinante? That kid had been nothing but sweet, he doesn't deserve it.
Bitting your lip, you kept walking, but as there screams got louder and your resolve started to crumble.
"What should we do first? Break there hands- no there fingers first then the rest of them"
Keep walking
"The admirals can't save you now!"
Keep walking
"We should sell whatever's left of them back to the Mary Geoise"
You stopped in your tracks
There's still a working lighter in your pocket....Ah fuck it!
Quietly, you crept behind the bush closeted to the scene. You blocked out the outside world to properly focus, a distraction could risk all three of you.
The metal object feels a lot heavier in your hands, yet that didn't shake your resolve. It took a couple of spins of the wheels for it to work, when it did you held it up till the orange collided with the green.
You crawled back to your previous space and waited, careful not to make a sound.
Fire ate at the leaves, consuming the bush, spreading like a disease. When smoke finally took to the air it became impossible to ignore.
There was a bit of muttering before they scattered; still, you waited a while after just to be safe.
When your sure the cost was clear, you snap the burning branches and a throw them into the middle of the trail, causing a forest fire isn't the best idea when that's where your currently living.
Over to the boys who are lying down exsoursted with pain. With a piece of bead that looked as bad as they did.
Getting one of your cigarettes, you light it with one of the burning twigs "You guys still alive?"
"SHUT UP!" Doffy screeched through sobs while the other one was struggling to get up.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes at that, you think they would have managed to beat some sense into him, but here he is. His ego so indestructible he could have you thinking he was too.
"I'll take that as a yes" holding the fag in between your teeth, you walk over to help Rosy first as mr mouth should be able to help himself...eventually."So...why are you guys still here, I told you to get out of here."
Shaking, Rosy eventually managed to pull himself to a sitting position
"The other town found out and chased us back here"
Of course that would happen "What a drag"
As gently as you could, you helped Rosinante to his feet though, he was still in pretty bad shape so you tucked your arm under his shoulder for support.
Now the hard part
Reluctantly, you holds a hand out to Doffy, you've put too much work into keeping them alive.
He still managed to have enough strength to slap your hand away even with the state he was in.
"Don't.... touch me ....human"
"if you don't wanna touch me that's fine but it's gonna be hard to patch you up if I can't, plus I doubt you pampered pooches have ever had to treat wounds"
He gives you a glare then slowly reaches for your hand, giving a tight squeeze as you pulled him up, you could almost feel his insides retracting due to the skin to skin contact with someone he believed as so below him.
Once he got up, he tried to push away but his bruised body began to give up on him.
Luckily, (ish) you managed to catch him before he fell again, he gave you a look and was probably going to say something petty but you were faster.
"Be careful I'll happily drop you" he had gotten much more of a beating than his brother, probably because of his big mouth or even bigger opinions.
"Let's get you both back to your parents there probably worried sick, speaking of them where are they"
"At the bottom of the road"
"Rosy!"
"What? She's only helping us"
To that Doffy just scowled and flicked the cigarette out your mouth
"Well if this HAS to happen I'm not smelling that the whole way"
The only thing stopping you from giving him an extra beating was the fact that you had both your hands full.
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
Sadly, you had to act as both the brothers pillars. Which wasn't the easiest way to way to travel.
While all three of you were stumbling down the pathway, Doffy decided that it was the perfect time for a good ranting session about "they're going to pay!" And "I can't wait to destroy everyone on this island!!!" Though you started filtering him out after a while for your own sanity.
"Are you listening to me-eh?" He turned to face you as you felt the eyes behind his sunglasses burn into your skull.
It takes you a second to respond and think of what he wants you to say "Errm...those humans are gonna get it?"
Nods "that's right, good human" he pats your head
Looks up at his hand "thanks?"
That's probably the nicest thing he's said to you, even then it's still slightly demeaning.
Rosy perks up "There it is!"
In front of us, there's a little rundown shed of a thing that you had came across once or twice. It's barely liveable but it's all they have really got.
The two celestials come rushing to their sons, horrified to see the state their children are in. Tears fall at the forming bruises and bumps the boys had received.
"What happened?"
Rosy now snuggled into his mother replied "We were try to get food but then we got caught"
"They only stopped when..." Doffy turned around and stared "what's your name?"
"(Y/N)"
He looked at you for a second "I don't like that name"
"Thats not really up to you" it may not be your actual name for all you know but you're not gonna sit there and let it slide.
"Plus, I think it is a nice name all have you know"
He flat ignored everything you said "I'm calling you" he wafted to himself while tapping his finger on his chin "Dulcinea"
"Excuse me?!?"
"Anyway, we were getting beaten because we stole some bread until" he leans forward and emphasises "Dulcinea" then looks at his parents "set a bush on fire and made them go away"
"Still not my name"
All of a sudden you get the biggest hug "thank you, thank you so much for all the help you have given us"
You scowled at the little bastard, it's not like you could say much now because his parents were telling you how wonderful you were, ultimately you just had to sigh and let it go.
The father was playing with his fingers, not looking anyone in the eye "did you end up bringing any food" you could feel the shame radiating off him.
The family went silent and just looked at each other.
You had food, quite a bit of it too since you managed to snag a bunch when Doffy was yelling that one day.
Doffy seemed to read your face before it had even redistured to you that you had make a facial expression. "Do you have anything stashed away Dulcinea?"
Deep down you wanted to say no but, they had obviously had a rough time and you had a bit to spare.
"..One sec" you were go and back before a minute had passed bringing a couple of fruits "You can have them, but you give me the seeds or anything else you don't want to eat of them"
They hardly let you finish the sentence before stuffing their faces. Poverty had hit them pretty hard, anyone could tell that they weren't used to a life without money. Their royalty was all thrown aside when it came to eating.
It was a start contrast to how they acted the last time you saw them.

Notes: I made another small chapter for this month to make up for the fact i didnβt make one last month though it is another short one Iβll try to get back into the flow of making longer ones. Also I was thinking of adding a flash 10 years+ into the future for a chapter or would that be a little confusing though donβt hold me to that.
Next chapter
When you post a chapter of Jester's Bride, I think you should add another hashtag. Since you already have the #doffy x reader, I think you should add #Doflamingo x reader.
I genuinely didnβt realise I didnβt do that π Iβll add more tags to them all thank you for saying :D
I'm sure someone has done this before but it I saw it in passing and my brain just...

Prologue: Part 3
Prologue: part 1
Prologue: part 2
On Odette's shoulder, Rosinante is fast asleep, the daisy starting to slip out of his hand.
His mother smiled as the boy started to drool on her shoulderΒ "I think it's time to get him to bed"
This is the part you have been dreading, there's not really anything else you can say that will get them to stay outside longer.
Except for the truth.
"That's a bad idea" It's not like you wanted to ruin the moment but it had to be done.
Mr Know-it-all had sadly not fallen asleep yet "What do you mean-eh? Is that a threat human?"
Once again, the father finds himself in a tense situation "Now calm down, I'm sure it's not as bad as it sounds"
You're not really expecting these two to listen, though they shouldn't be in the dark.
"The 'humans' want payback for all the awful things they experienced because of Mary Geoise and are probably at your house now" stated with the bluntness of a butter knife.
People around here could hardly tolerate YOU, let alone people in the class who make their lives miserable.
Gently the mother crouched down, talking to you on eye level "Dear, we will come out and play tomorrow"
Glaring, you are attempting to look serious, as serious as a child could look at least "No! I'm telling the truth!" Stamping your foot, attempting to emphasise the point.
By the look on their faces, it was the first time a human being actually talked back at them, let alone shouted.
Stomping to the forefront, the asshole screeches his thoughts "How dare you!" Shaking with anger "you insignificant little ant! In the holy land, you would be crucified for this!"
At the time, you didn't really know what he meant, but it really irritated you that he knew words that you didn't.
"Things are a lot different here, people won't just listen to you because of your bloodline"
How he scrunched up his nose while he shot venom at you, could have you believing he really could breathe smoke out of his nostrils "It's not just some bloodline, we are gods!"
Wow. He really thinks he's that much better than the rest of us, a final fuse bursts "Not anymore" You walk close while pointing your finger at him "Humans are allowed to cross your path, humans don't have to carry around your luggage, humans can now hurt you and get away with it!"
It seems to have caught him off guard because he had actually stopped talking. Here's your chance.
"Most people on the island came here from God Valley" They're out of touch, but they must know about that surely.
Dread started to set in on both the adults' faces. Homing running circles in Odette's arms speaks up "Now now, surely they couldn't have done anything that awful"
".... I'll walk back with you" They were nice enough to feed you, so you should at least try and get them to survive the night.
β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-β-
Not a word is said after that, and you all walk back. Homing attempts a conversation but it goes nowhere. Cautiously, you follow with eyes hyper-focused on the surroundings.
Then you smell it....Burning.
Looking to your left, they smell it too it's written all over their faces. Picking the worst time possible, Rosy wakes up.
They take a couple of steps forward.
"Are you sure you want to see that?" They won't like what they see, they should focus on getting as far away from here as possible.
"Where are the celestial dragons?"
Dismissing the warning you gave them, they walk to check if it was really happening. You didn't need to check, watching the corpse of your home be burned wasn't your idea of fun.
"Find them!"
They stood there for a while absorbing the horror and smoke, Odette started to sob.
"Let's hang 'em"
It did pull at your heartstrings a little, though they didn't need to know it.
"They're not here! They must have fled, find them!"
Doffy looked as if he was going to leap forward but Homing grabbed the boy before any damage was done, he wasn't as delusional about his son's behaviour as you thought. You had to hand it to the shitlet he had guts. Shame guts won't do much against an angry mob.
"They can't have gone too far"
Doffy just kept looking at his father. Waiting for him to do something. Anything.
"Make it a slow death! We want them to suffer!"
Their cheers echoed through the night in agreement that the family should be sentenced to a painful death.
"Where gonna take centuries of revenge out on that family!!"
Another war cry is heard, it's the exact moment when Homing realises the horrific mistake he has made.
"There they are!!"
Taking off, you don't bother to look back to see if they follow you. It was in your ability to zoom away, but the family deserved a chance to follow you.
You wanted to help them but only if they had the sense to help themselves.
Shortly footsteps and short breaths followed, which made you smile. The herd of fire were hot on their tail, by extension yours as well.
"That's them, don't let them escape!"
It's difficult to distinguish the voices, as if their rage fused them. Didn't help that you were running in the mud on a stormy night.
If you run all the time and you're feeling the drawbacks, then they definitely are. Proving your theory correct, you heard the rat bag fall flat on his face. Any other time you probably would have pointed and laughed for a while.
"Doffy!" His mother and father shouted stopping out of concern. This isn't the time to be investigating wounds or sympathy
He's soaking wet, it's like trying to pull up a soggy dog. Not that it's going to stop you, wasting no time you pull him up from under his arm dragging him forwards.
"Come on!" It may seem heartless though necessary. The boy struggles to keep up with you, it's obvious that he hasn't run much in his life.
Occasionally, you look back to see how he's holding up just to be met with a glare, ungrateful bastard.
After what feels like forever, you managed to shake him off. When we all stopped, Doffy wasted no time retracting his arm and rubbing it against the leg of his trousers.
Ignoring him, you focused your attention on something more important. "Ok listen I'm only going to say this once" You pause a moment before letting yourself catch your breath.
"Ok, now keep running straight ahead there's a shed by the seaside in some rubble so you could probably sleep there for the night, but they seem pretty adamant on chasing you so don't stay there for too long and get out of this town as soon as possible then the next and the next after that just to be safe. Try finding a boat, get off the island if possible."
You went to go but remembered that not long ago they announced who they were and where they were from.
"Also you don't know me, you have never met me got it? I don't want people to target me, good luck" you turn and run at light speed before they can say anything.
ββββββ-ββββββ-ββββββ-ββββ
Barely, you managed to run across the forest. When you stop, your legs give up and you hit the floor like a ton of bricks. Your already mucky dress just gotta dirtier; at this point, there's not much you can do about it except wait for the storm to pass.
So you use all your remaining energy to sit underneath a tree. It's not the ideal sleeping environment though it's better than.... Actually, this IS the worst option.
You lean your head back on the wood, looking up at the rain; the pita patter of the droplets acting as your only comfort. At least the sky is always beautiful no matter its form.
Above you, the sky rumbles and you see a flash of light. It really is the worst place to be, the environment could likely turn against you.
You make a bet with yourself that if you live another day, you have to get out of this place.
Somehow, you managed to get to sleep. When you close your eyes, the thunder and lightning sounds strangely relaxing.
βββ-βββ-βββ-βββ-βββ-βββ-βββ
Nika must have wanted your heart to keep beating because you woke up, albeit with a cold though you still had your life.
You claimed the tree that sheltered you, building a wooden hut up there. It wasn't as good as the mansion but it was a home.
It took you a while to adjust to not having your mansion, though you managed.
After collecting things from the beach, you walked home still try to get the sand off. It was a loosing battle because every time you attempted to get sand off it would stick somewhere else.
Off into the distance, there were all sorts of grunts and hisses of pain mixed with a big group of people laughing.
Yep
someone was definitely getting jumped.
Whelp better them than you, anyways you continued to walk in the direction as to not join in on getting beat.
"Shit bag celestials! This is what you get!"
DUSH
You halted

Notes: Sorry I didn't keep up with the monthly schedule like I said I would, I'm ngl I've been feeling pretty shitty lately and I'm failing every thing. Also does Grammarly count as ai? I was worried but used it anyway because I was panicking. I really struggled with this chapter so I hope it's up to standard and you enjoyed it.
