As a native system (Cherokee) we don’t like seeing our language all over those aesthetic pages and wish to help inform others of these deserving to stay as they are, a language. While its less spoken than in the past both are still used. Hopefully non natives see this and want to learn more about how beautiful the native languages are and want to respect them.. thank you. 🤍

starting off on one of many posts regarding accessibility , im gonna be showing you how to use plain text in posts !
First we'll start with with what plain text is , which is simple : Plain text is text without effects. some effects on text can be Bold , Italic , Fonts , Symbols , Links , Typing quirks and Caps.
There are many ways to format plain text , some examples below can be show :

Now the big question is why would you need to add this to a post ? well the answer is simple , often times the way that posts are formatted can make it hard to read. some people use screen readers to fix this ! however a screen reader cant always read whats on the screen. for example : Symbols and fonts can break screen readers and cause it to make a horrible noise. also for general use as some typing quirks are impossible to read without plain text.
Since the editing community is made for sharing edits and such , having text that's readable is already a good start. Ill show you some examples of things that need plain text
Bold header text

lastly Typing quirks , which i know a lot of users may use on editblr. however those posts too need plain text even the posts that aren't editing related. quirks that use numbers or replace letters with W's or otherwise cannot be read by screen readers , same with emoticons and kaomojis. Typing quirks are also not uncontrollable , replacing letters is intentional and not being able to provide plain text is ableist. regardless of aesthetic , being accessible is the best option when you are a public account that interacts with others.
also please consider that an aesthetic or theme is not more important than someones ability to read , this can go for tags too. it is very possible to keep an aesthetic while also keeping things simple and readable.

Ways your filters can affect a brown character's skin tone, and what to do to avoid making them look strange : Newbie Edition.
First, allow me to explain my guide. Both images are cut in half, one affected by the colors, one unaffected. The right images will be greyscale, so you can see the differences in their skin tone. The right half of both of the images are unaffected, the left one has the coloring.
Today we discuss soft lights and overlays with colors. Later, we will discuss using soft lights and overlays using actual images / texturing. This guide is only mostly relevant to ibis paint users.
The filters on these are soft light (left) and overlay (right) at 100% opacity for #66abc7. Soft Lights are not aggressive with their coloring, Overlays absolutely are. You should be careful to not only not whitewash them, but also make sure that they are still recognizable as a brown / dark skinned character.
How to avoid this issue :
Lower the opacity of the filter, change the color to be less saturated.
Left - Soft Light (Color : #598799), Right - Overlay (Opacity : 25%).
Some notes : When an Overlay filter is more translucent, it mimics the effects of a Soft Light. They are essentially the same filter, one is simply more vigorous. General note of thumb, blue-washing is really easy to do, which is why blue in general is not a recommended color to edit with for brown / dark skinned characters.
When using this guide, only implement these tactics if necessary after you have finished or created a general idea for your PSD or coloring. It will be too difficult to do it beforehand. Another reminder, if your coloring is not intended to be shared, and / or only meant to be used on your own edits for a pale skinned character, this guide is irrelevant.
