Funny how two rival biker gangs can have a full blown shootout in the front of a supermarket that leaves 18 injured and 9 dead  and not be killed, shot at, tased, chased, tear gassed, or even hand cuffed but if a few minorities gather together to peacefully protest the murder of a child the police come militarized.

For anyone getting their knickers in a twist over Steve’s AOU line about “language,” just remember:

…And Steve was the one calling him out on it half the time.

So even if Steve Rogers does occasionally curse (and I’m not saying he wouldn’t – he grew up in Brooklyn and he was a soldier, it stands to reason he knew how), as an officer he was responsible for keeping his men reasonably respectable, and likely got into the habit of playfully chiding Bucky about his foul language.

So when Steve says “it just slipped out” – he probably forgot for a moment, in the heat of battle in winter in Europe, that he wasn’t in occupied France with the commandos, and it wasn’t Bucky cussing on the radio.

Jupiter Ascending is about an ordinary young girl who doesn’t have a father

who happens to find out that she is the reincarnation of a very important person

she finds out that she is in possession of something supremely precious and spherical that is sought after by many

her protector/ally/and eventual love interest is a man who shares DNA with the canine species

another ally who is snarky and is very deserving of the title “lone wolf”

they have to keep it from a very flamboyant villain who wants the precious for himself

and the two relatives of his with one having an agenda of their own

you should totally rewatch the first movie and pay close attention to what Steve’s face does. Or doesn’t do. Because Steve is not a puppy dog, Steve does not wear his heart on his sleeve, Steve is still and steady and tries so very hard not to be easy to read because Steve’s life is pain he cannot share for fear of having his personhood literally revoked. Steve is stand-offish. Steve sees that you’re angry with him and flatly makes light of what he’s doing that’s pissing you off. Steve will give one-word answers to shut you down. Steve doesn’t meet your eyes until he’s finished speaking. Steve rarely smiles and when he does, they’re rarely bright—they’re small and mostly in the crinkle of his eyes and god forbid you make him smile when you’re arguing with him because then they’re sharp and bitter just like his laughter. 

Steve Rogers starts fights. Steve Rogers lies to your face. Steve Rogers stands as straight as he can with his crooked spine because he refuses to let you assume he can’t. Steve Rogers is not a golden retriever, he is a sickly, pissy little cat who will bite the shit out of you for trying to pet him.
