there’s  a  puff  to  his  cheeks  ,  followed  by  a  soft  sigh  .  he  thought  that  the  places  he  wanted  to  visit  were  fun  ,  niran  loves  taking  pictures  of  the  places  that  he’s  been  to  because  like  what  people  said  ,  photographs  do  last  longer  .  the  downward  tug  to  his  lips  is  immediately  replaced  by  a  knowing  smirk  ,  niran  had  always  been  the  type  to  hide  his  feelings  .  “  the  winery  ?  so  you  can  get  drunk  while  the  sun’s  still  shining  bright  ?  ”  he  chuckles  ,  shaking  his  head  ,  “  sure  ,  the  winery  then  .  you’re  buying  .  ”  the  grin  on  his  face  stretches  wide  as  he  gives  his  brow  a  wiggle  .  there’s  a  little  tug  on  his  heart  when  rome  brings  it  up  ,  he  feels  silly  because  it’s  such  a  small  detail  that  shouldn’t  have  mattered  much  .  “  i  still  think  we  should  go  to  the  beach  later  on  .  i  heard  the  view  at  night  is  amazing  .  ”

“  oh  fuck  you  ,  ”  niran  rolls  his  eyes  as  he  then  makes   a  sound  with  his  tongue  ,  hating  how  rome  knows  exactly  how  to  make  him  crumble  .  being  a  proud  person  that  he  is  ,  he  acts  as  if  he  feels  nothing  .  absolutely  nothing  for   rome  .  “  alright  ,  good  .  now  ,  where  do  you  want  to  go  ?  there’s  a  little  cafe  that  i  saw  near  the  airbnb  ,  there’s  the  beach  too  …  or  maybe  the  museum  ?  ”  he  asks  ,  listing  down  the  places  that  he  had  search  prior  to  the  cruise  docking  .  niran  turns  to  look  at  rome  ,  “  did  you  put  on  sunscreen  ,  though  ?  ”

               with  the  ship  docked  in  greece  ,  yunha  discovered  she  didn’t  know  how  much  she  wanted  to  explore  zakythnos  until  she  arrived  .  the  young  woman  couldn’t  keep  her  hands  to  herself  ,  picking  up  every  piece  of  jewelry  and  trying  all  of  the  food  she  came  into  contact  with  .  yunha  decides  to  end  her  night  of  exploration  with  a  drink  and  a  gorgeous  of  the  beach  ,  but  perhaps  she  sticks  out  too  much  as  a  tourist  as  she’s  now  trying  to  explain  that  no  ,  she  will  not  go  on  a  date  .  ‘  no—  ’  is  yunha’s  immediate  response  ,  not  wanting  to  inconvenience  them  any  further  than  what  the  commotion  has  already  caused  .  ‘  you  don’t  have  to  do  that  .  ’

               yunha  has  yet  to  find  her  footing  aboard  the  crowned  hope  .  for  a  couple  of  days  ,  she  was  at  ch  health  thanks  to  her  inability  to  rid  herself  of  sea  sickness  ,  but  she  finally  managed  to  earn  her  sea  legs  when  she  finally  figured  out  how  to  manage  .  she’s  always  been  something  of  an  early  riser—  she  liked  to  get  her  day  started  before  most  of  the  ship  was  awake  ,  scribbling  her  feelings  into  her  journal  on  the  sun  deck  or  going  for  a  swim  to  wake  herself  up  some  more  .  she’s  pleasantly  surprised  when  a  text  comes  in  from  youngrae  ,  instantly  flipping  her  journal  closed  and  grabbing  her  phone  to  respond  .  she  does  her  best  to  not  respond  too  quickly  ,  letting  a  couple  of  minutes  pass  before  she  begins  typing  .

“coming right up!”  hyunwoo calls out, as he practically dashes over to the other end of the bar. “hi, i’m so sorry to bother you, but can you please pretend you’re completely engrossed in an urgently interesting conversation with me as i make this other guest’s cocktail very slowly?” he could only hope that the neon lights of the bar were enough to hide how furiously he was blushing. “they keep asking for a ‘sex on the beach,’ but when i give them the cocktail, they keep arguing that it’s not what they want, and.. they just— they tried to lick my hand. so, please?”

               coming  to  the  bar  was  not  a  common  activity  for  dohyun  ,  but  since  he  didn’t  work  the  next  day  then  he  figured  he  could  treat  himself  to  a  drink  or  two  .  he  makes  small  talk  with  whomever  he’s  sitting  next  to  in  an  effort  to  pass  the  time  ,  nursing  a  drink  he’s  had  for  the  last  ten  minutes  .  he’s  a  little  stunned  when  the  bartender  comes  running  back  over  ,  and  a  small  smile  manages  to  tug  at  the  corner  of  his  lips  at  their  request  .  ‘  you  should  know  what  they’re  actually  asking  of  you  .  ’  he  laughs  under  his  breath  and  leans  back  in  his  seat  .  ‘  we’re  surrounded  by  desperate  people  who  probably  haven’t  had  sex  because  they’re  too  miserable  .  let  them  lick  salt  from  your  hand  to  do  a  shot  .  ’

                   ✿               𖥦              𝑜𝑛𝑒   𝑜𝑓   𝑡ℎ𝑒   𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑦   𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠   that   yuna   avoided   was   getting   hurt   (   both   the   interior   &   the   exterior   ,   but   that   was   a   story   for   another   day   )   .   her   job   as   a   florist   meant   she   had   to   move   things   around   ,   get   poked   by   wires   &   stems   ,   maybe   even   poisoned   (   she   tends   to   go   overboard   with   her   imagination   )   .   the   smallest   cuts   had   her   visiting   the   clinic   as   she   was   now   for   that   exact   reason—   she   wasn’t   paying   attention   to   her   work   station   and   gave   herself   a   paper   cut   .   there   was   a   new   nurse   at   the   reception   ,   so   yuna   was   relieved   that   she   didn’t   recognize   her   ,   she   only   hoped   that   the   doctor   was   someone   new   too   ,   and   it   wasn’t   dohyun   because   that   would   be   too   embarrassing   .   she   thanked   the   nurse   before   taking   a   seat   in   the   waiting   area   until   her   name   was   called   .

              working  in  the  clinic  often  meant  long  days  of  tending  to  injuries  as  small  as  a  splinter  to  kitchen  mishaps  that  were  more  serious  .  dohyun  likes  the  unpredictability  of  his  career—  he  enjoys  the  fact  that  no  two  days  are  the  same  and  no  patients  are  alike  ,  but  working  on  a  ship  meant  seeing  a  lot  of  the  same  faces  .  dohyun  was  used  to  it  now  ,  and  there  was  no  use  getting  huffy  about  it  .  he’s  finished  with  another  patient  ,  making  small  talk  with  them  about  their  medicine  intake  while  grabbing  the  next  patient’s  chart  .  he’s  waving  goodbye  and  propping  the  door  open  with  his  weight  as  his  eyes  drift  down  to  the  name  at  the  top  of  the  page  .  ‘  yuna  ahn  ?  ’  dohyun  can’t  help  calling  her  name  with  the  tug  of  a  smirk  at  the  corner  of  his  lips  ,  waiting  on  the  woman  to  rise  from  her  seat  .  ‘  is  this  something  your  in - room  first  aid  kit  can’t  handle  ?  ’

                  narae wasn’t one to sulk or grovel in public, especially given her family history. ( her mother wasn’t allowed to make a scene or else it would be all over the news so she grew up with that mindset, even if she herself wasn’t a celebrity. ) but she’d overheard something at the bar that triggered one terrible memory of her ex, and she finally snapped. it was about time. “i’m alone at this bar on a cruise for people who are also as miserable as i am. isn’t this kinda pathetic?” though it was said to no one in particular, her voice was so loud, she was sure everyone else around would hear her.

                           when she sees who she assumes is the doctor based on his first question, teddy wonders if there are more hot doctors on this ship or if he’s the only one. then immediately remembers why she’s here and sighs at the snark. “listen, i’m aware you’ve got your hands full but i think it would be very beneficial if you let me go ahead– i’m one of the chefs here and no, it wasn’t my kitchen that messed up their clams but i do need to get to work so if you could maybe, possibly let me go ahead, that would be appreciated.”

                     “hello?” teddy had never been a patient person. it came with the job, she supposes. kitchens were fast-paced and she just learned to live the rest of her life similarly. so when she gets to the door of health & emergencies, she’s ready to spill her guts. literally. and she really doesn’t want to. so she calls for whoever’s there to get some help. “jesus, what’s a girl gotta do to get some attention here?”
