I've seen people bringing up how Tord being a bioengineer explains Future!Tom and Future!Matt's designs and that it could mean that Tord gave them those to fix their issues and they joined him out of gratefulness instead of the prosthetics being some sort of mind control device like the fandom has been headcanoning for the last decade.

I'd like to mention that I think Tord banning cola wasn't really to torture Edd like many thought. They mention on multiple occasions that Edd is addicted to that stuff and he's not the only one with an addiction. It's been outright said that Tom is an alcoholic and, outside of being a smoker, it's heavily implied that Tord has a hentai/porn addiction.

In Behind The Scenes, they show Edd and Tord sending Tom to rehab and doing things to try and get him to cut down on the drink. I wouldn't be surprised if Tord was doing the same thing for Edd here, trying to help his friend get over an addiction. If so, it could be a reason for why Matt and especially Tom take Tord's side instead of Edd's.

Really imagine it. If WTFuture was about Tord killing his past self so he wouldn't have to live in a world without porn/hentai, or Tom killing his past self so he wouldn't have to live in a world without alcohol, everyone would be on the other three's side instead of assuming it was some way to torture or manipulate them.
