What have you learned overall?

My biggest take-away from this Adobe Class is that original thinking is the foundation for creativity. That is a big consolation as I have always credited creativity to being artistic, popular and divergent--adjectives that are far from my work.

Do you think about yourself as a creative educator and your students as creative learners?

I have always been a 85% conformist, 15% rebel. Though I encourage my students to be creative and adaptive lifelong learners, I never saw myself as a creative educator. However, especially during this pandemic, I can say that my students are creative learners as they are able to work on lessons given the unique circumstances they all have, and churn out amazing outputs regardless of 2020-2021 setting.

How might you design an engaging lesson in which your students get to engage in creative thinking?

The past two web design classes I taught allowed them to engage in creative thinking. The first one was through a client brief and resources that they are to use and refer to in order to create a website. The second one involved each to create their own WordPress-based website following a website plan that aligns to an existing business, hobby or choice of interest they have.

The courses may have been made more engaging with various self-paced activities that involved the students learning and trying hands-on exercises.
