Hi! Ms. MeeYow here, and the purpose of this blog is to chronicle my natural hair and health journey towards a new and improved version of myself. UPDATED 2018: Moving forward, my blog will mainly focus on improving my mental health and wellness, and addressing the issues that often go ignored or unspoken, particularly in the Black community. 1st Big Chop: 10/8/11 Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery Date: 10/30/2013 Current Weight: 165 lbs Starting Weight: 305 lbs Highest Weight: 320 lbs Initial Goal Weight: 175 lbs Total Weight Loss: 140 lbs Initial Goal Pounds Remaining: 0 lbs (INITIAL GOAL ACHIEVED as of 12/31/2014) New Goal: 150 lbs New Goal Pounds Remaining: 15 lbs INSTAGRAM: @TheLionessChronicles I was overweight in high school, but lost over 75 pounds during my first year in college to reach my ideal body weight. I realized after reviewing photos of myself over the span of my 34 years of life, that I've constantly been a Former Fat Chick; I'd lose significant amounts of weight, only to regain it again months or years later. Some of the reasons for my weight fluctuations have been due to stress, depression, poor dieting, and oversized portion sizes. I've reached my weight goals before, and WILL do it again... this time FOR GOOD. This is my diary, and I am once again on the journey to (PERMANENTLY) becoming a FORMER FAT CHICK.
