Off of Hiatus
Hiatus for the Next Two Weeks
ooc: hello, followers! I am writing this to inform you that this blog will be on a hiatus for the next two weeks. I am going on vacation and I don't believe I will have any internet access. 'That is a scent I have not encountered in ages, could it be...?' The old wyvern immediately turned her attention to the newcomer, glittering eyes examining him thoroughly. "Tell me, hatchling," she started, speaking directly into the boy's mind, "Are you what my senses tell me?" she asked cryptically. There was a chance that her senses were merely deceiving her in her old age, and if that was the case, she didn't want to scare him with false allegations.

More visitors to her castle. This was most unusual. Some of the faces were knew, others familiar. Shifting her weight and folding her wings into a more comfortable position, the Heartfelt regarded the growing crowd with calculating eyes. “Greetings.” she spoke into their minds, voice ringing clear like a bell, “I am Okari, the Heartfelt. Keeper of the library and secrets of the heart. What brings you to my domain?”
The Keyblader approached the Heartfelt with curiosity and gentleness. As beryl hues analyzed her, she tried to resist the urge to reach out toward her. “Can you please… explain to me what a Heartfelt is, if you don’t mind… I’ve never seen anything like you…” A Heartfelt… how odd. “It seems I’ve been summoned or transported here, maybe something here ties with my journey.”
With a slight tilt of the head, the tall wyvern regarded the Keyblader bearer with curious eyes. A moment later she let out an amused chuckle, although to Aqua it sounded more like a chuffy snort. "Of course, my dear." she responded politely, "I was expecting the question. Many ask that of me; it is no surprise that you asked me. A Heartfelt is a Nobody who is aligned with the Light instead of the Darkness. As far as my knowledge can gather, I am the only one of my kind in existence currently." she responded, before leaning towards the young woman slightly. "Now that I have explained myself, would you mind enlightening an old wyvern to your name?"

“Greetings, hatchling. How fare you?” Okari replied, turning to face the Nobody.
“I am fine. It is one of those nights where I am lost for sleep again. However it’s nothing to be concerned about.” She answered with a smile.
"Ah, I have spent many a night dealing with that." the wyvern replied, ruffling glowing feathers a tad as she shifted into a more comfortable position.
Riku swallowed rather loudly at her words, averting his gaze down to the ground to contemplate his options. Dangerous..? Only twice..? Second attempt failed? The statements brought much worry to the young Keyblade wielder, but he couldn’t let it get the better of him. He’d never let fear stop him before— why start letting it now? The teen would much rather lose his life in attempt to save himself, rather than lose himself completely to the Darkness without even trying to stop it. He was determined. He knew that he was made to be much better than this pathetic fate of his. And right now, this was the only idea he had to rely on. He would take this chance, no matter the risks.
He gave a nod to the wyvern, his signature, confident smirk crossing his features. “I’m up for anything, dangerous or not,” He began, any hesitation that was left completely wiped from his tone, “I’ll be happy to help in any way possible. What do you need? It should be easy for me to find materials. If they’re not here, I’m sure I can find them in one of the worlds I’ve been to. Just give me the details, and it’ll be no problem.”
Despite his determination, it was only natural for the worry to stay. Even pushed to the back of his mind, it still nagged away at Riku. So many ideas of what could go wrong flooded through him, but he just kept bottling them up and tossing them away. The teen could only hope that their ritual would end in success, rather than tragedy and disaster
Okari exhaled a silent puff of mist at his response, managing a slight smile. "That is good to hear, hatchling. I will do my best to ensure this works. Even if it does not completely seal away the Darkness, it will at least help weaken it to a point where it is more manageable. I will need to take a while to brush up on all the ritual entails, as it must have been fifty years ago that I attempted this last." she mused, looking to the scroll again.
"I might be able to use your help..." she muttered into his mind after a few minutes spent studying the scroll. She would require a few items in order to make this work, from flowers to potions to other objects of use. "I will be able to gather most of the items, since after all, they are hidden in the catacombs we wyverns lived in. I only hope they survived the Heartless attack; I haven't returned there since I was turned." her voice trailed off. Even though she no longer had emotions, the thought of returning to her own home gave her an empty sort of feeling inside.
She shook herself from her daze, turning glittering emerald eyes back to the young Keybearer. "It will take some time for me to prepare everything. Seeing as I am tired with age, I will need your help with some of the more demanding preparations. But, if you have any questions about the ceremony, please speak your mind. I am more than happy to enlighten you, as you'll be taking part."

Riku was aware of that fact, all too well. It was something he so often tried remind himself of, yet somehow always forgot when it mattered most. He hated using the Darkness, he knew of all the risks using it carried. But even before he’d gotten himself into this huge predicament, using it came just all too naturally for him to resist. Relying on the Dark powers was like a bad habit— an addiction. So hard to break, but once it was, it left one feeling horrible, lost and missing it, until they came crawling back for more. And he was undoubtedly guilty of being caught in such a horrid cycle.
The teen could only hold his head in his hand and let out an exhausted sigh at her words. It figured that she didn’t know how to do such a task, or, at least, didn’t know how to with a human heart. Was it even possible to? He knew that all hearts must contain Light and Darkness, lest the heart belonged to a Princess of Heart. But was there even an option of any sort of balance left for him? It didn’t seem that way. Maybe he would just stay stuck with his faint, dying little glimmer of Light for the rest of his life..
Riku shook away the thought, looking over at the wyvern once more. He had to have hope, or this would stay forever as his fate. “Well, what’s it like? What do you do to treat that..? Maybe something along the lines of that could help me.”
"I have not preformed a ritual to remedy finsternis in many years, and have only attempted it twice in my life. The second attempt, sadly, failed." her voice trailed off into a dejected tone. One of the wyverns, a young male named Shuriken, had fallen victim to Darkness and, despite all her attempts to reverse it, had gone mad and killed many. The infection was a side effect of the Heartless appearing, and she had yet to learn of his fate.
Would it work on a human? She'd never attempted it before on any creature other than her own kind, so she wasn't sure if it would even be safe. But, she would never know unless she tried. Turning her head, she used her magic to retrieve a few bound scrolls from a bookcase. Wyverns couldn't create books, and instead wrote symbols onto hide using claws and tail-tips. "No, not that one..." she mused, forgetting her thoughts broadcasted to the human in her presence, "Ah, here we go."
A old, frayed scroll was unrolled, hovering in the air thanks to her magic. "This ritual could be dangerous, and I have no assurance that it will work. However, I suppose trying is better than nothing. I will have to gather the proper materials; perhaps you could help me with that, hatchling?" she questioned, turning to look at the seated teen. It had been nearly a century since she had had to cast such powerful magic as the kind required by the ritual, but if gave the young human a chance at survival, she would gladly take the risk imposed on her own body. Her old age had made her frail; a wyvern her age would normally never attempt such a feat, but she was not most wyverns.
