Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.

Make sure you don’t start seeing yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you. You are worthy even with flaws. You are loveable as you are, even if they think you're not.

forgive the version of yourself that knew better but did it anyway. forgive every version of yourself. we are constantly learning from our mistakes.

I've really had to start choosing to be happy everyday. I don't have to be running around in excitement everyday, I don't need to feel and be happy everyday but I need to try and see the good everyday. The good is there, the bad is still there. The difference is that instead of letting the bad soak me up and dry me out, I choose the good. To think about the good things, to care about the good things.
