Welcome to @recede-au , the official blog dedicated to the STH AU Recede created by Mod Kit (@bobbutterbutt) and Mod Tails (@kittails) . We created this blog in order to have a more organized place to post our art and information involving the AU, as well as to answer any questions anybody may have about it.

Recede AU is a Kitsunami and Tails focused Sonic horror/angst AU set many years in the future from current canon. It deals heavily with themes of abuse, trauma, codependency, and obsession. It also contains a lot of medical imagery, violence, blood, extreme gore, torture, and death. Please exercise caution when viewing this blog if any of these topics are difficult for you to engage with.

Every main character in this AU (Kit, Tails, Sonic, Amy, Surge) is an adult during the events of its story.

1. Would Tails be willing to get rid of documented ""Research"" if it meant covering their tracks? Or perhaps be too possessive to truly let go of it?

2. Just how severe of a condition do you think surge would actually leave Tails... (Wondering if I may have overdone it >>;)

3. How would restoration itself react if leaks were... Let's just say, quite damning?

1. Yes, Tails' number one priority is making sure he still has access to Kit and is able to continue their research sessions. As much as he would hate having to get rid of anything, he would if he had to

2. Surge would probably just threaten the guy if she still had no solid proof (like holding him up by his shirt collar and verbally threatening him), but if she saw what was going on Surge would straight up kill him if she could. The only thing stopping her at that point is either Kit or Amy getting in her way

3. This one's a really good question. In Recede, Jewel is Tails' supervisor in the Restoration. So, once she heard about any rumors or leaks she'd want to have a word with him. She wouldn't want to believe he would do those things at first especially since she's known him since he was a kid, and depending on the quantity/perceived validity of the leaks may try to help him do damage control. Tails is a really important asset for the Restoration, and they'd really prefer not to lose him if they can help it.

As for general Restoration members.. reception would be mixed. A lot of people might assert it to be fake without even really looking into it since they trust Tails so much, but others might be more readily accepting of any evidence, and try to have him removed. It also depends on where the leak comes from-- someone like Surge would be less trusted, but were it to come from Sonic or Amy (not that they would necessarily do that) it would be more believed.

It totally depends super heavily on how much leaked and how, theres so many different doors this would open and theres a ton of ways it could go. a few different outcomes we thought of were things like Surge Sonic and Amy becoming a lot more involved in Tails and Kits lives, Tails and Kit saying fuck what everyone thinks and running away together, if the leak wasn't too massive, Tails trying to cover his tracks and explain himself out of it, even if it still looks bad on him. If Surge were to find out the full extent of everything, we even considered her tearing down the lab actually destroying all evidence without even thinking much of it bc of her sheer hurt and impulse in the moment. Surge would feel vindicated and more protective of Kit. She might even be a little upset with Amy, even moreso with Sonic. Kit would also do it's very best to defend Tails in these situations which would complicate things.

With the attempt of Tails covering this up, the justification of it all, is that he has done so much good over the years, but one misstep and everyone hates him now? he would be reeling. And its not like it was ill-intentioned, right? Who else cared enough to assure Surge and Kit would have medical care? Who did all the hard dirty work? only he was the one who did all that work. Who cares if they don't understand his process of recording everything, documenting everything, they weren't the geniuses here. They could never understand. The cybernetics are so complex, he needed to do this, he needed to go this far! Sonic would also need to decide where xe stands in all this. Xe wants to defend Tails like always. But xe doesn't know anymore. Its super hard for xem.

Sonic's reluctant to believe that xyr brother of all people is doing something suspicious, but with everything he's seen that just doesn't quite add up, it's getting hard to ignore. But still, xe will give Tails the benefit of the doubt. He has his reasons for doing the things he does. He's always had unconventional methods, that's what makes him a genius. Most of the things he does are outside of Sonic's scope anyways. And besides, xe raised him, and trusts him more than anyone else in the world! Sonic just knows that whatever he's doing with Kit is in Kit's best interest.
