Nur is by far the best Malay drama I’ve watched in my entire life. Banyak sangat pengajaran yang boleh dipelajari. The biggest takeaway is this: sungguh, hidayah itu milik Allah. Allah semudah itu boleh cabut hidayah dari seorang ustaz dan berikan hidayah kepada wanita lorong. She found Allah within the red light district. She found Allah amidst the filth. I remembered crying like crazy when Nur had no choice but to pray in the alley. And she kept praying even when she felt that Allah hasn’t answered any of her prayers. How many of us blame Allah for not listening to us? How many of us gave up praying for the things we need or want because we don’t see results? It’s indeed true that imaan is in the hearts of people. And only Allah knows.

you’ve gotta start romanticizing your life. you gotta start believing that your morning commute is cute and fun, that every cup of coffee is the best you’ve ever had, that even the smallest and most mundane things are exciting and new. you have to, because that’s when you start truly living. that’s when you look forward to every day. 

do i believe in romance…not sure. am i obsessed with it…absolutely
