Starting the year right with a new project - drawing as much of the incredible Dropout cast as humanly possible. Starting with Brennan, Jacob and Erika!! Planning to add to my gamechanger pin series 🙏

Yeah, you got me there Anon! I'd always drawn and described Marty as having quite a sunburn - and other things like freckles, spots, from years farming in the sun as a human. Storyteller pointed out to me that it could be problem for Marty in the mini-campaign we played. Never came up though we only had a short run of sessions, sadly! She does live rent-free in my head however and is particuarly grumpy about being red in the cheeks all the time. Marty & Celeste doodles (Gangrel and Toreador respectively)

So basically sunburn is a response to DNA damage

The affected cells detect irreparable damage and self lyse, their death release chemicals called inflammatory mediators, these chemicals cause inflammation at the site, the body increases blood flow to affected areas causing redness

So vampires are dead. Completely inactive. No heartbeat, no breath, no metabolism, no cellular reproduction, no immune system. DNA damage would be irrelevant and their tissue should cease to be responsive to any chemical messengers

Vampire's appearances are magically frozen at the moment of their reanimation but would that be enough?

Hi Anon! Honestly fascinating question. I regrettably do not have the mind for science to give you a proper response however I appreciate your insight nonetheless! Does it logically make sense? Probably not, though with the vampiric curse factor combined with a "fuck it I think it's funny" I reckon it works for my lil' ol' Gangrel. I asked my Storyteller his thoughts on the matter and he had some musings about what else vampries should / shouldn't logically have, so that was a fun convo too. Like tattoos? Freckles? Hair dye?
