The project is still canceled/on indefinite hiatus but I thought I’d give you guys a little more thought out post on my and the game’s situation. Last Tuesday I got surgery on both hands to correct the problems with my hands I mentioned previously. I’ll get the stitches out Monday.
Given my hands will be working again shortly, college workload is still the major factor limiting my ability to work on this game and that won’t go away anytime soon.
I’m still interested in handing the game to someone brave enough to finish it. One of the shoutbox guests mentioned contacting Hussie for help finishing the game. I think he is a bit too busy with his own (not sburb) game but if you guys wanted to try en mass I would not be against it. ;P
This is the bitbucket for RealSburb. I opened it to the public. I am sorry that I couldn’t finish this.

Requests to join the Team Are Now Closed
The team is coming along well and I have had quite a few people ask to join. I feel like we now have a good number of people so I’m going to halt adding people to the team. Once some of the core issues I want to work on are fixed I will consider adding more members to work on various divisions of the game.

I’d like to create a skype group of people who want to program by the 23rd of the month. I should have everything up on git again at that point. I’m going to open the submit box so that anyone who wants to join can send me their skype name.
The very first thing I’d like to do is look at the SQLite database as a team. Once the database is working reliably again I will delegate parts of sburb to members of the team.
I have three potential members at the moment but more are always welcome. Only a basic understanding of Java is really needed(Hello world, and creating and managing multiple classes.). I have a fairly good idea of how SQLite works and can teach others. (I’m a Java tutor) Outside of the SQLite database there shouldn't be anything too complicated in this game.

Here comes another pause. I'm starting a new job and semester of classes and I'll be moving sometime between now and July so updates will most likely be scarce until summer break. Edit: (In responce to demands that I release the game now and comments about me being a crappy programmer.) I cannot send out parts of the game. It is written as an mmo with one centralized server and that server has flaws in it right now that make it too unstable to even alpha test at the moment. (It only runs reliably with 1 - 5 people online) I am a novice programmer and I am working hard to understand why it is behaving the way it is and how to correct the problems.
Programming an MMO is not a cakewalk. Go do a google search for "How to program an MMO" 99.9% of the hits are simply people saying "Don't try. It's too hard." which makes it hard to even find help regarding the problems I'm facing.
I am doing this in my free time which is little to none. I have a new job and classes, and I am trying to find a place to live on my own. Please be respectful when you message me or leave messages in the chat.Â

The new Planet generator is implemented into the game and as you can see it generates items that match the land names.
Over the last couple days I completed the framework I was designing for item generation linked to land names linked to classpect, integrated it into the actual game, made huge changes to how moving from room to room is handled and how the map is stored and drawn.
There is a lot of progress going on behind the scenes. Nothing screenshot-able yet.
I'm working on planet generation again and I got an interesting randomization:

yay899 answered: You really didn’t need to change down from eight. You could have just told everyone running seven to upgrade.
I assume a lot of people who are interested in using the planet generator use minecraft and minecraft will not run with java 8 installed. Changing the application from 8 to 7 was very easy. it only took three clicks as a matter of fact, but switching java around just to use the little planet generator is a big nuisance and probably not worth it to most people. This way all of the people who cannot switch to 8 without breaking minecraft can play, as well as everyone who has an up to date version of java.
