to be honest, I stand by what I said. this is less about the actual character and more about a pattern that me and a friend were talking about. it feels like every skinny, mean male character gets headcannoned as transmasc almost immediately. and I almost never see the same energy applied to female characters, like actually ever. I think it’s worth asking why that might be. female characters are allowed to be messy and unlikeable. and it would be really cool to see people engage with them in the same way instead of overlooking them all the time. genuinely I think pomni as a transmasc headcannon is really fun and fitting more so than jax.

I also feel like sometimes people jump to headcannon first instead of actually thinking about the character, like their personality and the world they exist in, does it actually make sense for them. but with characters like jax sometimes it feels less like it’s adding something to the character and more like making the character easier to connect to, which is human I get it. It’s something interesting to notice. it’s okay to like a character who sucks, you don’t have to relate to them or make them reflect you to enjoy them. sometimes a horrible freak is a horrible freak and that’s the appeal. Idk at the end of the day none of this truly matters and people are gonna interept things however they want which is fine. I just wish we saw a little more variety in who gets that kind of attention and that people weren’t so crazy online.

Also, with the confirmation that Sage was actually Fount himself, this detail hurts even more.

No one asked who they were. No one cared about them as people. They were only known by their titles, by what they represented, by what they were supposed to provide.

It is such a quiet but brutal kind of dehumanization.
